I went in to buy a few items here because it was cheaper in store than buying online from another retailer. I walked towards the back to the hair products area and found the brand I was looking for because of the display sign. While I was looking for a particular product for my hair, a representative stood behind me and watched me the whole time. She was propped up on the shelf and it was clear as day what she was doing. No customer service provided either. I went into the store with my credit card and phone in hand and was wearing gym attire that was fitted and had no pockets. I love how you can shop and order curbside and online and pick up at store. Only fall back is sometimes they don't have specific items I've wanted. So I've had to substitute. Usually the stl locations have it but I don't want to drive for just that. Spacious parking. It's located next to dsw shoe store. Borders use to be near there and bed, bath, and beyond. dude. i went here the other day - I always go during the holidays because they do the "buy a perfume, get a free blanket or robe, while supplies last." I go, I get my perfume, I head to the checkout. They ring me up, and don't ask me whether I wanted my robe or my blanket. I ask "do you guys still have the robe or blankets?" The employee scoffs and says "um, we're probably out." (there are clearly stacks of boxes of robes and blankets behind the register) I ask for a robe, and while they go to get it, one by one you hear each employee go "don't touch that, that one's mine." None of these employees had bought perfumes, and ALL of them had already snagged a robe or blanket for themselves. Not to mention, there were 5-6 employees standing at the checkout and only one actually checking out customers. it's not shocking that the employees at Ulta are entitled mean girls, but it is disappointing. read more

Listen I love the girls in the salon and frequently get my hair done here. But today I had an awful experience with the front of house/ possible manager of the store. I had called up to see if they had the September birthday gifts (since this September they didn't get the "shipment" till middle of the month) and I was told no we don't. But when I was in the store and saw the mini products on the shelf and brought it to the counter I ask if this was the birthday gift and was met with, " um I can't just give this to u..." not what I asked but then to have them produce the birthday gifts magically as if out of thin air. This made me look at them like they were crazy because these WERE the gifts that were online! Like be so for real. Don't waste peoples time and don't offer free items if your employees aren't going to give them out! I spend a lot of money at this store and I think I won't anymore in their front of house. read more

I typically shop at the Brentwood location, but I needed to pick up a few things and I was already in the Fairview Heights area so decided to stop by this location. I got what I needed and when I got to the check out line it way very interesting. There were 5 employees behind the counter. 3 of them were just standing around chatting, one who appeared to be in charge made eye contact with me and turned away and started talking to the other 3. The 5th person was checking out someone else and when she was done she turned and joined in the social session with the other 4 employees. I continued to stand for a couple more minutes and by this time a line had formed behind me. One of the other customers behind me quickly became impatient and yelled "hello". The woman who appeared to be in charged then yelled "just a minute". It was simply the rudest way to treat customers. Ideally you would acknowledge your customers and let them know you will be with them in just a moment. Also you thank them for waiting once they get to the register. This was not the case. The entire staff seemed annoyed that they had customers. It was very disappointing. I love Ulta as a store, but I guess I will stick to shopping at the Brentwood location if I want to actually feel welcome in the store. read more

I use to shop here all the time and by all the time I mean weekly. I was always here for their weekly sales but that was also 10 years ago. It's been awhile since I stepped foot into this location and I remember why. Customer service 0! I was in here over the holidays looking for some gifts, there were so many employees working but not one said hi or asked me for help. I had to ask for help and she was a little hesitant. Like do I look like I'm going to rob you or something? No help what so ever. They also do not price match, even with their online site smh. But it's all good. I walked around for about a good hour trying to look for some gifts and my mood from going in exciting looking for gifts for family went from 100 to 0 quick. I left not buying anything. I am writing this to help other parents. I took my 6.5 month old in to get her ears pierced (advertising says they do 3 months and up). I walk in and the lady tells me they cannot pierce her ears because she is the only licensed one there and they pierce both at the same time but since she's the only one there, she can't. I offered to hold my daughters head (i did that with my oldest) and she told me no. She said they could pierce her ears at 1 years old, one ear at a time because apparently once she turns one, she won't cry or move her head around like she would at 6.5 months. Don't advertise something if you can't do it! Wasted my Saturday. read more

I swung into this location 4 days before Christmas looking for some last minute gifts for my niece and her best friend. I walked in less then 20 minutes after opening and the place was already getting busy. This was my first time in a place like this so it was very overwhelming BUT, multiple employees came right up tp me and showed me to the exact things I was looking for by just a screenshot on my phone. Great customer service, tons and tons and tons and tons of options. I was in and out in less then 15 minutes. If I ever need makeup again this will be the place I go. read more

I'm not sure if it's the way I look but every time I go to this location I'm ignored. Never greeted, or asked if I need help. I've worked in retail before so I understand when things get busy but when the entire staff is up front talking and there's zero customers in the store except myself..I honestly thought someone might come up to me this time. So here's the thing. I love Ulta. Love all their products and I'm excited that they carry a ton of new stuff like MAC and other brands. I do the majority of my shopping online. Here's why I shop online (and why I gave 3 stars): ever since they revamped and remodeled, it is almost too much for me to go into the store because the employees literally do not leave your side. I walked in the other day and literally had three employees at the same time ask me if they could help me find anything. And they don't give up either. They will talk to you till they can't talk anymore. And basically force you into buying something you don't want. So that's my one thing about shopping in store. Beware that your "I'm just looking around" won't get them off your back. read more

This store is JANKY. It is poorly stocked and poorly staffed. The staff members' makeup looks terrible (like clown makeup, I'm sorry). It was difficult to find a mirror or any cleanser to remove sample product from my skin. The tissues are like sandpaper - avoid. The line was very long and runs right up against the Ulta brand products, making it really difficult to browse and sample those products. Signs for sales were inconsistent, making it tough to figure out what exactly was on sale and what the conditions were for the sale. read more

I went to the salon for a hair cut and Meghan was my stylist. She did an ABSOLUTELY amazing job and was full of personality. I got a wash, cut, and blow out all for $27 bucks because it was my first time! I also got a coupon to come back for 20% off anything I have done in the salon which I will be redeeming later this month. I am very excited to find a great salon that is near my house & doesn't cost a million dollars to get something done. I have been here for the Benefit Brow Bar as well which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, if you want your brows to look amazing - it is the best place you can go . I trust them with my life. I really can't say anything negative about Ulta. I am surprised at the "rude customer service" complaint because I have only experienced the best here. Went here to exchange a gift that was given to me for Christmas. My friend who bought if for me payed in cash and even told me she got it from that exact location. I went there today to exchange it for another perfume and they asked if I had a receipt. I said no, it was a gift. And the man rudely looked and me and said," well the isn't it obvious that you can't exchange it?" He made me feel extremely stupid and embarrassed for trying to return the perfume. read more

Ulta reminds me a little of Sephora. Over in the Metro East we don't have a lot of choices. Out of desperation I will venture over to Sally Beauty or if I need hair color. Ulta has no hair color options. They do however have a salon inside which is nice. They have most options for makeup and hair care products. I haven't came across anyone with knowledge yet though. So when I'm not getting my MAC on when I go the city you will find me here, getting my second best fix for makeup. read more

I had a terrible experience at this store yesterday. I live an hour away, and I barely have time to get up this way to shop, especially for the holidays. I took off work early yesterday to come up and get my Mom a gift. They are having a deal where if you spend at least $40 on perfume, you got a free robe. Well, when I fist walked in I saw the robe. I grabbed it. I had it on my arm. I walked around for a good 45 minutes with it shopping until one of the store employees, Britney, approached me to tell me that was a "display robe" and that I would receive mine at the checkout. She then had me put the robe back. After about another hour of shopping, I decide to check out. After 20 minutes in line, I get up there for them to tell me they are out of the size I needed. I said then I would like to have the display robe. Guess what? THEY SOLD IT. They sold the robe I had been carrying around the store for over an hour to someone else. I was so upset that I actually went outside and cried.. not because I didn't get my way, I understand things happen. But my mom is sick.. This was way more than just a robe to me. I came back in and begged to speak to a manager. She then proceeds to tell me I can drive to St Louis to go get a robe. I ended up telling them to just take the products back because of the bad customer service. I stressed to the manager, "I don't want to have to write a review just to get my voice heard", she didn't care. If who I spoke to was management, you desperately need to make some changes. I can't believe that was who is in charge of meeting the customer's needs. I have worked in customer service for a long time. When you make a mistake, you fix it. You do whatever you can to make sure the customer is happy. Not smile and laugh through her disappointment. I will NEVER ever go inside this Ulta again. I don't want to have to deal with those employees ever again.. and it is such a shame! I love Ulta. read more

I freaking love this place! It has all of your beauty essentials in one place. When you sign up for their rewards program, you always get coupons in the mail and email. Also, you get reward dollars for the money you spend there. The best part so far is meeting the sales associate Stacy. She introduced me to the skin care line Mario Badescu (which I would have never found on my own) and my problem skin is the best I've ever seen it. She is so knowledgeable and friendly and always helps me with whatever questions I have about skin care or makeup. She takes the time to actually listen and help me, which is so rare to find. I was told that the products were in the stock room, but they could not retrieve them for me. Reportedly, they were not going to restock until tomorrow, so it was suggested I come back.
