This is for THE SALON at Ulta Beauty and specifically Melissa. I went in for a hair treatment and blowout - I asked Melissa to give me a treatment for my dry scalp and she just recommended the deep conditioner knowing i needed the scalp treatment. Melissa was the only person available for a blowout and that's the only reason why i saw her. My hair was completely straight after my blowout. Not a single curl. She then had to use the curling iron to give me curls and i knew my curls were going to drop within the hour because i only wanted my hair curled through a blowout. After leaving unimpressed with my hair i noticed my scalp was completely dry and flaky. It's never been that dry before. I go back i side and talk to someone else who recommended i buy a scalp treatment and apologized because i should have gotten it before my blowout by melissa. I'm not a hair stylist. I'm not the one who is supposed to know ow what's best for a dry scalp, if I'm asking my stylist what is best she should know to recommend the scalp treatment. I accidentally tipped her an amount way too large and didn't even notice until i got home because i was so pissed off. My scalp is so dry and my hair is completely straight. Not a single curl. (I'm naturally curly) Very disappointing service and i think melissa needs proper training. read more

This store is brand new so it was spick and span! Very nice store! I came here to buy some eye make up while I was visiting a friend in the area. Ulta has all your needs as far as make up, hair products, lotions, nail products, really anything under the sun as far as beauty supplies. The items range from high end to products you can find at your local drug store - so it's your all in one stop store. They also give make overs! FUN! This could be your place to go before a special event to have your hair and make up done instead of driving all the way into Baton Rouge. The Ulta by my house has hair stylists, but I was just in and out of this store and didn't notice, so if you are looking for a stylists you may want to call and ask. read more

So I frequent this store quite often. I happened to go on Good Friday. The traffic in the atore was steady. I was perusing the isles looking for an eye brow pencil. I normally buy Maybelline but they were out of the dark brown. So, I thought to myself, this is a make up store; I can most certainly try another brand. I walked pass the ulta brand and I saw samples for all the colors except foe the dark brown. An associate happened to pass me. I asked "is there a sample for this color? I see one for all the colors except the one I am holding in my hands." She hastily replied "sometimes its like that I would have to make one." Never once did she make the sample or have another associate make the sample. Needless to say, I didn't buy that brow pencil. I purchased some other items that I didn't need assistance with and parted the store. I think the associates can improve on customer service and rememer that they are there to assist and serve the patrons of Ulta. I will go back.....heck I like make up and hair products but I won't expect Good customer service when I go. If I want good service, I will drive to Baton Rouge read more

I'm giving this review mainly for one of the staff members, ALEX!!! He helped me today while they were extremely busy. He knows so much about skin care and makeup, etc. He recommended a foundation to me, and I am VERY picky. This foundation... wow, absolutely flawless! He matched my skin tone perfectly, and I'm not sure if this foundation looks amazing because of the other products he recommended, but Alex knows his stuff! Seriously so amazing! What girl doesn't love to shop for makeup and beauty supplies? Ok... truth... I know some do it. This girl does! I love Ulta because unlike some of their competition, they have a variety of ranges for their beauty supplies (drug store to professional). I also love that Ulta has a large supply of hair care products, much of which is salon level hair care. This particular Ulta caught my heart a few weeks ago when a tight budget restricted my choices and the cashier simply told me "honey - you NEED these products, these ones you do not". Best Ulta in the region! Nicest team, super helpful. First, you are greeted the minute you walk in the door. They don't have the snootiness of other Ultas I've been to - they genuinely want to help and have lots of expertise. Second, the store is laid out very nicely, it's easy to see the exact area you want to go to. It's well maintained, sunny and bright and spotless. The product selection is extensive and inventory well maintained. On this visit I got to meet the manager and regional manager, Bridget. Stood in line for a long time for only one thing. The line wouldn't be so slow if employees wouldn't be texting in front of customers. I was trying to pay and the lady on register 4 was texting I had to wait until she finish texting to pay because she wasn't paying attention. I asked her to give me a printed receipt and she tells me she sent it to my email after I told her the email on file wasn't correct. that shows she wasn't being attentive to the customer so busy in her phone. read more

Terrible customer service. A cashier with brunette hair and a pink sweater on Sunday 11/7 was the rudest person in customer service that we've encountered. She gave us an earful for not wanting to share my phone number with them. Never going back to that place. Frankly she scared me with her attitude. Will never go back. read more

This Ulta is way better than the one by the mall. It's clean and organized and the staff is very helpful. They always have good deals. I got buy one get one half off of several hair products and makeup products the other day. I also love how there are so many different options to fit everyone's beauty budget. This Ulta is nice and new and bright and shiny. It's easy to navigate and find all of the different prestige brands of cosmetics and skin care. The gentleman at the Benefit Brow bar has a great personality and did a great job on my brows. He listened to me about what I liked before he proceeded to wax and tweeze away. I was really pleased with my service. I also visited the salon and got a blow out and flat iron. The stylist is one of my regular stylists and she listened to what I wanted and took her time. The lady at the Clinique counter was really friendly and engaging. There was a mishap at check out where I was charged twice for a service. I had to wait back in line for a manager to reverse the charge. She was friendly and approachable. I had a better experience at this Ulta location compared to the regular Ulta store I frequent in B.R. read more

19 days ago (first time there) I went to get all new makeup. Jaime at the Clinique counter was nice, knowledgeable, helpful and fixed me up. For an event last night i used their salon services. Paula and Alicia did an awesome job on my hair and makeup. The whole staff is friendly and courteous. I will go back and recommend to my gamut and friends. read more

The "senior stylist" who is also the store manager did my hair(first time going blonde) so it was way 2 expensive bc she charges more then the other girls in the store bc of her "credentials." She fried my hair. The blonde turned a cheap brassy color blonde in less then 3 days. When going blonde you have 2 appts,the first appt was with a girl with big fake lips. According to the senior stylist,this stylist didn't even finish the blonde process she was supposed to...........they seem to be very sweet people why TRY but they did a mega bad job(salon wise). read more

I'm very sad to say that personally, I had an awful experience at this location concerning the hair stylists they had working while I was there. My mom had been here a few times before for her haircut and recommended them to me, so I went. Not even after 10 minutes or so of waiting, I was forced to leave due to a minor issue that could have been fixed quietly, but the people working took it overboard. The women working the hair salon area were SHOUTING about how this younger girl who had gone to get a haircut had lice (while also shouting at the girl's mother.) Are you serious? You're being paid some $50 to just wash and cut this girl's hair and provide hospitality and THIS is how you act? And even worse- to a young girl who couldn't have known? I'm disgusted. I understand it's probably not the best idea to give someone who has lice a haircut, but the whole store doesn't have to know about it! The poor girl was surrounded by 3 or 4 of the stylists as they were poking around at her head like she was an experiment. I didn't step in (though I wish I had) because I felt I would have embarrassed the girl more. I'm in no way upset that I had to leave (because I can easily just go somewhere else,) but it's revolting that the hair stylists had the nerve to act like that. I seriously doubt I'll ever come here again, at least for a haircut. read more

This Ulta beauty salon is all good for a decent blow out- but GOOD GOD DO NOT let anyone cut your hair! Please learn from my mistake. My precious tresses got butchered.
