ULTA Beauty is one of my favorite places to shop for fragrances because you can do so without getting hassled by an aggressive salesperson trying to push a bad smelling high commission product on you. You can take your time going through their big selection of fragrances and find the one that is right for you. Shopping for fragrances is personal, and quite frankly I don't want, need, or appreciate a salesperson's "help". Their prices are comparable to other fragrance retailers, meaning you are not going to save a bunch of money here, bit you also aren't going to pay more. read more

This is the best Ulta I have been to. The specialists/salespeople are very friendly and helpful. I feel welcomed all the time. If the item I'm looking for is not at this location, they will order it for you painlessly. Dorian, I love the way you do my eyebrows. Sally, you are awesome! The salon is like none others. The stylists are knowledgeable and friendly. Ashley does my hair and she is excellent (color, haircut, etc). She is caring and has a beautiful personality. This rating is specifically for the makeup artist, Dierra. She is phenomenal! Dierra did my makeup for me. I had to take photos for my non-profit's website and social media pages and wanted to look dolled up. Since I am not a pro at applying makeup and YouTube videos really don't help me, I decided to get glammed up. Dierra was so sweet, professional, and offered great tips. I plan to take makeup lessons from her, too. I'm so glad Ulta offers it. I highly recommend Dierra for your glam face needs. You can tell this store is short staffed... HOWEVER, Ashley at Ulta made my order pickup such a pleasant experience! She was cheerful, helpful, and incredibly fast. Beware of this location, you will be racially profiled and followed by that security guard. I walked in for the first time and went straight to back for perfume. I wasn't even there for 2 minutes. I left immediately and won't be back. The young girls working the counters, aren't even pleasant or welcoming or seem like they want to be there. After seeing other reviews, I see that I am not the only one who had a bad experience at this store. I came here in hopes of having someone help me match my foundation shade. I am having my engagement photos done soon so I want to look my very best. The first employee I encountered tried to up sale me on many different items than what I told her I was there for. "Here, check out this mascara and yada yada." I told her politely that all I needed was the foundation. She showed me a brand that I was not interested in and asked her if she could show me the brand I asked to look at that was a little more affordable. Once I told her that I was going to take my engagement photos and needed this to be the perfect shade, she passed me off to someone else who she thought would be able to assist me better. This lady was not rude necessarily, but I could tell that I was not on the top her of list of people to help that day. She finds a few shades of the foundation that I want and very quickly "matched" me. I got out into the sunlight the next day with my new foundation and that $h!t was ORANGE!! I was like... seriously?! I am as white as a ghost.... howwww did this woman think that I would need orange in my foundation?! It makes me upset because I was so nice to her and asked her to please give me her honest opinion on which foundation would look best on me. I was so glad to have this Ulta open close to my home. I like to use Ulta as my go-to store for my beauty products. Unfortunately, the staff at this location are mostly rude which usually doesn't bother me too much. Today I needed some skincare items and I placed an online order for curbside. When I got the location, I followed the prompts from the email and then waited....and waited.....and waited. I summed it I with them being busy and went in. I was immediately taken back by a salesperson on the phone with what was obviously a personal call. I asked her where do I pick up my order and I requested curbside but no one had been out yet so I came in. Phone girl said with an unfriendly tone "We didn't get a notification!" and I Showed my screen where you can see that i was waiting. Another salesperson came up and said the notification had just come in and she had my order. She was very nice and I was on my way but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth andI won't be returning. read more

This place will overcharge you, ruin your hair, fuck you over, and REFUSE to give you your money back. DO NOT get your hair done here, unless you want to spend $400 on hair services that are absolutely shit quality & make you feel so insecure that you literally can't even wear your hair down anymore. I went in wanting to go full purple-- my hair was already virgin blonde. Marisol O. told me that it would take her FIVE HOURS & cost $700+ dollars. Obviously, that is a ridiculous price, so I said I'd be fine w her doing full highlights, w purple over the highlights. She gave me sloppy strings of bleach that didn't even go all throughout my hair, or all around my head. Every single person I've spoken to has told me that these are NOT FULL highlights-- they're partial- IF THAT. The purple dye on the highlights showed up, but after one cold shower, 48 hours later, like Marisol suggested, the purple faded completely & bled on to the rest of my hair, making it look muddy grey. I contacted the store manager immediately- Alia, & she said she'd talk to the salon manager & give me a call back the next day. Nobody did, so I called them, & spoke to the salon manager, Sally, myself. She told me that of the $400 they charged me, she would only refund me $62. She told me that taking the $62 & coming back in & getting my hair redone by another stylist there was my only option, but there is no way in hell I would ever trust an Ulta employee w my hair ever again. They REFUSE to give me a full refund, & it makes me sick to my stomach that I spent that much, just to have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. These people DO NOT CARE about their clients. If you value your appearance, and your financial stability, DO NOT get your hair done by these scammers. I will be reporting this store/salon, & the stylists & managers specifically, to the Better Business Bureau. read more

To say I have been anxiously and excitedly awaiting the opening of this new location is an understatement, primarily because it is in my neighborhood. It has only been open for a minute and yesterday, I made time to go there to see it and purchase some things. When I walked through the entrance to the store, it was WOW! It's bright, clean and shiny as you would expect any new store to be. While perusing the "higher" end lines, I immediately noticed that the shelves were well-stocked. Some products haven't been set up yet although the signage and labels are there which is no big deal as that happens when you're trying to get up and running. Also, not only are the testers all there (before some customers steal them) but they're pristine with no dust, nicks, and product all over them and the areas around them. I looked around and shopped for about 30-40 minutes and sadly, this is where my satisfaction ended. During the entire time I was in the store, I wasn't, at any point greeted or asked if I needed help with anything. There were plenty of employees standing around and MAYBE one other customer in the store. Not the end of the world but it would have been nice, especially since there was one product I was trying to locate. I finally got my phone out, went to the Ulta website, chose the store I was literally standing in, and found the item. That is how I found out that it was currently online only and not available in-store yet. Again, not a huge deal but surprising and a bit of an inconvenience. After picking up a couple of eyeshadow palettes, single shadows, and a few other things, I headed to the register area. By that time, the store had a few more customers. There were two ahead of me in the line and two employees working the registers. So, I waited....and waited...and waited. One of the employees rang up the person in line ahead of me and when they finished, just looked at me and walked away. At first, I thought they were just quickly getting or putting something away and would be right back. It wasn't until I saw them come out of the back area wearing their coat that I realized they were going on break or going home. Looking right at me when they passed, I was a little surprised that they hadn't said anything before that like "they'll be with you shortly" referring to the other employee/cashier. Nothing. So, I continued to wait on the other cashier who was still ringing up the same people and they (the customers) were taking FOREVER. Still patiently waiting, I looked around and saw that there were 5 (maybe 6?) employees in the immediate area including three others right behind and near the registers. One of them must have been a manager as she had what looked like a clipboard or tablet and she was talking to the other employee. I looked behind me and another employee was behind the registers in an area that said "body care" or something similar. She never even looked up. So, 2 customers, one of whom was me standing there waiting, and 4-5 employees (besides the one ringing up the same customers) and they weren't helping anyone. The customers ahead of me finally left and I greeted the employee/cashier with "hello." I told her I had a $10 off of $50 coupon that I'd gotten in an email a couple of days before and that I'd also like to use some accrued rewards points I had. When everything had been rung up, she scanned the barcode of my coupon several times but for whatever reason, it wouldn't register. She told me, "sometimes you'll still receive these emails even though the coupon has already been used." I explained to her that I hadn't used it before (which was true) and she finally got someone else (one of the other people who was still standing around) who basically said the same thing. I told her what I'd told the cashier, that I had not used the coupon and hadn't been in an Ulta store in a month or so. They finally got the coupon to scan and $10 was deducted from my total. I reminded her about the $9 in rewards points I'd like to use and she pointed to the screen explaining that the amount had already been taken off and was noted in the price to the right of each line item (which I already knew). I pointed out to her that the $10 off coupon and the $9.00 in rewards points would be $19 off but that the new total was only showing $10 off. Finally, she tried something else and the total was corrected. I told her that I really appreciated her help with all of it and her reply was, well, nothing because she didn't reply or even acknowledge that I'd said anything. When we were (finally) finished, I told her "thank you again" and "have a nice night." Again, no response. No smile, nothing, she just seemed irritated. I walked away from the registers pretty bothered at how the entire experience had gone, especially since I'd gone into the store so happy and optimistic. This location is ridiculous and needs to get it together. read more

On the last day of 2022, I awoke with so much joy and hope for the day, only to hit its mid-point in tears of anger and frustration immediately after being profiled, most likely along socio-economic lines and possibly racially. Following a workout class, I made a quick stop at Pavillion Court for a run to Target and then walked over to experience the new Ulta that recently opened. Before I walked into the store, the thought quickly crossed my mind that maybe I should stop at the car to put my 1 Target bag down, but I shook the thought off because I was only going in for 3 items. I even wrote them down so I'd stay focused. So I walked in, yet after 32 years of living as a black woman and conscious that I had on a beanie, sweats, and slides...I STILL asked the woman who greeted me, a black woman, if it would be okay for me to shop with my 1 Target bag. She said I'd be just fine if I tied it up; she offered me a basket, and off I went towards hair care, focused on my 3 items because you know Ulta gets expensive when we lack focus ...lol. After beginning to walk through the store, the security guard, also black, appears in my periphery and walks alongside me. At this point, I'm starting to get upset because l already knew. So I paused him, acknowledged my Target bag, set said bag on a back counter, and proceeded to hair care, free of any outside shopping bags. As I'm looking for my items in hair care...the security guard walks by me, again. At this point, I'm seeing red, hoping I grabbed the right things I checked out and left as quickly as possible, quite literally crushed and angry. This review is me processing and releasing that experience. I will never set foot in that store again and will drive out of my way to shop at another Ulta that allows me to shop without being followed, whether I look like the professional I am or the comfy gym girl on wash day I am.
