I had a great experience. the stylist was knowledgeable and professional. However, my issue is regarding the Salon pricing. I was seeking to purchase the Cecred haircare products at the store when I noticed online that the Salon offered Cecred hair care treatment options. Overjoyed to experience the products, I scheduled a salon appointment. While there I inquired about adding a hair trim, I was informed it would be 47.00 (well perhaps this makes sense within the package of a shampoo and conditioner but not as an add on when you are already getting a shampoo and conditioner) As, it doesn't matter how short/long or how little is being cut. I later noticed the website does offer as neckline trim and a bang trim for $10.00 and that was what I was expecting as well, due to my hair being short (literally 1-3 inches and curly-this would literally be a 5 min job, doesn't require a neck lineup. Although, it would be nice to throw in. I also noticed on the website that there are 5 different haircut options, some include shampoo and conditioner, but others do not. So let me get this right Cecred hair treatment at $35.00 or $45.00 (depending on the one I select) + 47.00 for a very slight trim, no matter the length, is a total of $82.00-92.00....... seems a bit unreasonable. Lets try it the other way, get the Curl cut because my hair is short and curly for $62.00 which comes with a shampoo and conditioner but in order to include one of the Cecred treatments I will still need to add $35.00 or $45.00 for the treatment for a total of $97.00-$107.00.....This is literally for 1-3 inches of hair "trimming approximately 1/2 inch if that" geez!!! I was also informed by Ulta's customer service, that the individual salons may have different prices but was later informed by salon staff that it's an Ulta pricing standard. Other than that I have no grips thusfar. I have a history of going to black owned salons and a quick trim for a full head is often $7-$15 with a line-up if hair is short. If the trim is accompanied with a relaxer/perm or hair color, it's often included as apart of the hair care and styling. read more

I went here to do a quick return! I have done returns at other locations with no problem! Even without my receipt, it is always found easily unless of course it is an online purchase which I can easily get the shipping order and number! I have been getting lots of stuff here lately but the shade just wasn't my cup of tea! Well, I always link my phone number to my order and I know it is always one of two numbers! I have used my old number here so long that I am just so used to saying that one and I recently changed my number so that is linked too! But I have always had no problem using one or the other! I knew it must be one of those! I wish I HAD brought my receipt but I couldn't find it right before leaving my place so I just assumed the ladies could look it up! I don't know what the two women were doing for so long but they spent at least 5-10 minutes looking at something and still acted like it wasn't there! I knew I had gotten them sometime at the end of May or early June! Turns out I was right, May 21st! Anyway, whoever worked night shift at this location on Saturday June 19 really needs training on customer service & an offer of $4.12 on a $19 product is just a slap on the face! Of course, I should always remember that on the weekends these teen kids like to go partying and clubbing on the weekend! You still should do your job though! I walked out less than happy! I was able to get home, find my receipt and still barely get to another ulta location and get my return done! I knew I purchased it here so I don't like the assumption that I must have gotten it at Sephora and was trying to return it back to you! That's very unprofessional and disrespectful to me and my husband that you would assume we're that way just because we're ethnic! Very rude and I have bought a lot of items from Ulta but the lack of customer service I have received makes me want to take my business to Sephora more! You really need to teach better ways of handling a situation and it's not acceptable to me that I get treated that way! I do believe it's this location in particular and I am glad in some ways that I wasn't the only one who felt their customer service was not at par! Other locations have been awesome and I have had no problems returning items if they just didn't work out for me! I also have loved many of my products as well! If you want a customer for life, here's a tip, treat them how you want to be treated and learn respect!! read more

everytime i come here and ask for help, every experience i've had with an employee was rude. I came in last september and was looking for a nice foundation that covers blemishes, and matches well with my skin tone. I don't remember her name, but her demeanor was incredibly rude. she rolled her eyes when i asked a question, and made it seem as if my presence was bugging her. though i have had good interactions here, it's with the cashiers. ulta i sincerely urge you to review your employees, and the way they interact with customers. read more

While the staff was very polite I was not satisfied with the brow service. After telling the woman that I only wanted my brows cleaned up and not to change the shape, she completely changed the shape of my brows. I had to spend more money buying products that I never have to use to recover the fullness until the hair grows back. read more

I am literally writing this review as a sort of PSA for the manager of this store, because they really need to have a discussion with their employees on things NEVER to say to customers, unless they specifically ask for this. After searching on my own for several minutes for some matte face primer, I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I searched for an employee to help. I asked the employee for suggestions of primers, to which their reply was "have you tried anything that is anti-aging" My internal dialogue was a "gasp", and an instant self-awareness that this person thinks I need anti-aging products. Thankfully, I was able to find what I needed on my own, but the customer experience of shopping here was not at all what I think Ulta Beauty wants for their customers. I'm sure there wasn't "ill-intent" from the employee, but I also think for a company that sells inclusive products, and creates an illusion to an inclusive and friendly company culture, this could definitely benefit from some training or reflection on working with the general public, especially at this store. Despite the terrible reviews this place has gotten, I actually feel quite the opposite about this location and their staff. I've had plenty of help from staff members asking if I need assistance and providing great feedback that really helped me figure out how to shade match better for my foundations! I'm usually always greeted as soon as I walk in & the place is clean and well kept. Granted, not every staff memeber is going to be walking around beaming ear to ear every second of their shift, because truthfully that's unrealistic, but I've never dealt with any sort of rudeness or unkindness. I'm really bummed as this is a new Ulta and SO CLOSE to my home! Every single time I have been in, the employees are up front in small circles talking so loudly to each other and not helpful at all. Don't get me wrong I don't want to be bombarded, but I do want help/advice from time to time. I rarely get it because it's hard to get the employees out of their chats and I feel like I'm interrupting. The most helpful and friendly gal in there is always at the register - I wish I could remember her name, but she's on a HS dance team and always the sweetest. Visited Ulta in Canton today. Three employees stood by the front door, by the Kylie lipstick and talked amongst themselves about personal opinions. I walked up and down and around the isles about four times, no one asked if I needed assistance. I visit this store, Westland and Livonia on a regular basis. This is the second time I came into the Canton store with no assistance. Customer service is more important than anything else!! If this store is for teens only, dont forget where most teens get their money, "their parents". Made online haircut appointment with Sarah H and received a text confirming the set appointment. Showed up the day and time of the appointment and Sarah had gone home. I was told by an associate that there was no appointment in their computer. She told me it must of been a glitch. I was livid as I took two hours of PTO to make appointment not to mention I live 50 miles north. Unbelievable how this "glitch" was handled. Absolutely no responsibility for their error!!! I personally love going to Ulta not only for makeup but the employees are usually very outgoing and helpful although with this particular one I was not satisfied AT ALL. As I walked in 2 employees were standing by the door and not one greeted me, i proceeded to make my way through the store passing multiple employees and was never spoken too. I then had a question about a pallet and the girl I spoke to acted like she didn't even want to answer my question so I put all my things back and left. Placed an order online only to see that it was being shipped to the wrong address, immediately tried to cancel the order; online chat with a customer service person, called to speak with management and there is NOTHING they can do! It was not 30 minutes later we are talking minutes. They were NOT friendly, NOT helpful, NOT customer concerned ...they got my money and oh well ...as they put it..we have to wait to see if the wrong address returns it back to us before we can do anything. I decided to make a last minute appointment at the salon for a cut and color this was my first time at an ulta salon I was really surprised.
