This is my go to place for a haircut. Always clean. Using their app there isn't a wait time. The stylists are friendly and remember you when you return. My only critique with this place is their prices. A haircut and shave shouldn't cost $30. The price of a shave used to be $5. In a years time it went up to $7.50 and then $10. I get inflation. I have been pleased with Great Clips here at Cherry Hill and Merriman for many years. From day one Angelica has been my stylist of choice. She is very professional, kind and accommodating. Been here multiple times. My boyfriend has come to get a fade and his edges all lined up. Twice now the same lady butchered his hair. He communicated the entire time what he wanted and showed pictures and she acted like she knew exactly what she was doing saying "yeah yeah I know I got it". The cut was great and the fade was well blended but Everytime he gets it done by her she ruins the edges and lining of his hair. Last time one side burn was an inch shorter than the other. This time the top lining was completely different than the other side. She actually handed him her trimmers and had him do it himself! It was so bizarre. Never coming again. We always give people the benefit of the doubt and even came back after a couple bad cuts and now this is like attempt 5 and same results..... go somewhere else! read more

RUDE stylist (1/16 at approx 3pm)!!! A asked the stylist if I could have the chair aligned so I could see my hair cut straight ahead (It is my head after all). I just got the worst haircut of my life here. I asked for 1" off the back and the lady proceeded to cut 3" around my whole head. Her reasoning was she thought it needed more even. In a rush and on a tight budget, I walked into Great Clips with low expectations. And not even my low expectations were met: No coffee, tea or water offered; minimal conversation was had; there was no wash, blow dry or styling; everything was rushed and I'm positive scissors are foreign objects at Great Clips - including my 10 minute wait time, I was in and out in about 20 minutes. When I don't do it myself, I only have my haircut every two to three months and I like it to be a pleasurable experience, which Great Clips didn't even come close to providing. I will say this is a great place for children to get a hair cut, as there were children's toys scattered about to keep them entertained during their wait time, but I don't have children. I won't be returning to Great Clips anytime soon and suggest that if you want anything more than a haircut, go somewhere else. read more

I went in for a trim and came out with a very short haircut. I kept saying do not cut my bangs and every few minutes she had them in her hands. took 3 tries for her to stop. My hair looks like a little kid cut it. It's very short, Left side is longer than the right. The right is above my ear. Left is not. I have longer stands hanging out in the back. It looks HACKED!!!! I will never go back. There were boys getting their hair cut. They didn't even clean the hair off their necks. The boys kept scratching at it. Just horrible. I know it's hard to find help but if they are doing that to customers maybe they shouldn't be there. read more

Have been a regular customer for the past couple of years. Usually had a decent experience for the price. Unfortunately had the misfortune of having a haircut by Amy today. Using a clipper she finished my haircut in 2-3 minutes (which may be OK as I am mostly bald). And that was the end of it.....she made no effort to show how she had cut the back of my neck.....and forget about a blow dryer to cleanup, not even a wipe off with a towel! I've been going to this location (Cherry Hill and Lilley) for a few years. I'd usually go in for a neck trim and go. It's really hard to find someone who can cut kinky-curly/coily hair. Today, I decided I wanted a major haircut going into 2018. The stylist Clara cut my hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She asked a few questions even told me to put my picture away. Lol! As I stated before with my texture of hair. It's hard to find someone to cut my hair. Clara cut my hair as requested. She even gave me a few styling tips. Best haircut ever! I have never felt so discriminated against in my ENTIRE LIFE! A little background: I am an African-American, Canton (Michigan) resident that has natural hair. I just left this location (Lilley and Cherry Hill) a few minutes ago. I checked in before I arrived and when I got there I requested a wash, blowdry, straighten, and trim. The women at the counter proceed to tell me that I "needed to make an appointment for those services because they were short-staffed". There was one customer waiting besides myself. I politely refused the offer and I left. I then called the Michigan Avenue location, where I spoke to Ashley and she informed me that I should have been served, regardless if they were short-staffed or not and that I should call the GreatClips 1-800 number. I do not and will NEVER recommend this location. read more

My stylist blatantly ignored what I asked for and did whatever she wanted !! So disappointed. I asked for NO LAYERS/ a blunt cut and she gave me a bunch of layers and one side is longer then the other. I have been going here for more than a year now, and it is good for a quick bargain cut. The staff is friendly, and give you a mandatory corporate greeting of "welcome to great clips" as you walk in. Your information is on their computer, so they know when you were there and what sort of cut you usually want. Your receipt usually has a discount coupon for money off your next visit, so long as you come back in about a month. There are usually other coupons available, either in mailers or on the back of the Holiday Market receipts, which is the grocery next door. I recall hearing one of the stylists mentioning that it is discouraged to ask for a particular stylist, as they are on a timer on the computer, so when people wait for one, it appears that others are not working up to speed. So I don't ask for anyone in particular, and hope that I might draw a favorite. Again a feature of corporate technology gone wrong, as I would very much prefer to select my stylist without causing anyone a problem. I've never been unhappy with my haircut though, but I'm not all that picky! read more

I have been to Great Clips multiple times to get my boys' hair cut and I have never ran into an issue. The service has always been great. A couple days ago I took my two year old daughter for her first hair cut. Our hairdresser, Ashley, was the absolute worst hairdresser I have ever encountered. She was instantly rude when I walked into the building and you could tell how frustrated she was about cutting my little girl's hair. My daughter did not cry and was behaving better than I expected by not giving any trouble. However, Ashley continued yelling at my daughter for not keeping her head completely still and being very rude to me as I tried to explain that my daughter is only TWO! Even after the terrible experience the hair cut itself was horrific. The next day, I had to go to a different salon to get her hair cut even shorter. I am a fan of Great Clips on Lily, but STAY AWAY form Ashley. read more
