I went in to ulta salon today as a walk in. I had just had my hair done the day before somewhere else. I needed someone to fix the mess i got myself into at another shop. Katie looked at my hair and was able to get me in. I was bewildered. My hair was so damaged and my blonde highlights were a white blue color and stripey. Katie and Rheanna consulted a minute and Katie transformed my mess Into it looking how I wanted it to!!! I was so happy I went there and came across her. I will be back!!! I visited Ulta to return a sampler kit that was missing an item. The initial cashier was very nice and sympathetic, but she couldn't process the return so she called the manager. The manager Lara stepped in didn't greet me and started opening the package. When I mentioned my concern about tampering she replied in a passive aggressive tone, "Well I can't control that" Her attitude was so uncalled for and made me uncomfortable. Thankfully, another cashier named Monica stepped in and helped me with the return. She was very helpful and professional. While some staff were kind, the manager's rudeness left a bad impression. After nearly six years of letting my natural color grow out, I decided I needed a fresh look! My daughter suggested The Salon at Ulta. I wasn't sure, but going on her recommendation, I decided to try it if there was an appointment available. I called at 10:30 a.m., on a Saturday, and was given a 1:00p.m. appointment with Yuri. I arrived about 5 minutes prior to my appointment and was taken straight back. Yuri's station was very clean and comfortable. I was offered a water right away. Like most people, I was a little anxious about using a stylist I don't know, but right away felt Yuri's spirit was about doing a great job and pleasing the client. I was not wrong and I've found my new beautician! Everyone at the salon was super nice. The cost for my cut and color was very reasonable. I was even able to apply a discount to the already fair price, due to a promotion Ulta was having on salon services. The only negatives I found was the shampoo chair was a regular chair that did not elevate the legs; this can be hard on those with back or hip issues. Speaking of shampoos...Yuri has magic fingers...I'll be back for another scalp massage! One other thing, the checkout clerk was not aware of the salon's promo discount and it caused a slight delay at checkout. All I all, with only a few minor issues, I have no choice but to give The Salon at Ulta, and Yuri and the team, the highest marks! read more

I have visited on multiple occasions and I would rather order online and wait for items to be shipped than visit this store. Today I asked the manager for items and was told they were unavailable (even though it says in stock online) an associate told me the manager was holding the products for herself. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this location! read more

I have visited several Ulta locations and this one I absolutely dislike. The staff follows you around harassing you and asking you do you need help every 30 seconds. I don't always have a specific item in mind every time I visit the store. Sometimes I just want to look and see if there is new inventory or something I haven't purchased or added to my makeup collection. Is it against the law to just stop by the store and look? Can I look in peace without being badgered? It's great to have staff willing to help you but if I don't need any help then leave me alone and let me look in peace until I do. I'm about to start driving to the store in Pasadena just to bypass being harassed at this store. It's nerve wracking!!!! read more

If you value your time I would NOT RECOMMEND setting up a hair appointment with Reyna, a complete waste of time! I waited 20 minutes after the appointment time and she was still with a customer, when asking her how much longer it would be her response was, "a few more minutes". I asked her at 12 upon arriving and at 12:20. If an appointment is set up, a customer should not have to wait longer than 10 minutes. read more

Salon services are bad. This location keep loosing stylists and the "experts" they bring from other locations are charging expert fees but are not getting the job done. EXTREMELY disappointed in this location's salon! Just moved back to Texas after having a regular stylist/friend for 25+ years who was fantastic! Thought I might have found one here, however that changed today when I hustled to be here ON-TIME for my appt only to be told, "I'm 30 minutes behind." Really????!!!! You text AND CALL me the day before to confirm my appt but you can't text or call today to let me know you are a 1/2 hour behind??!! Working with someone for 25+ years, I know how impt it is to show up to a hair appt on time bc it can ruin that stylist's day and/or cost them a client. Arrived for a hair appointment on time only to find out the stylist did not come in. They said someone else would take me, but after 20 minutes someone else never showed up. I asked for the manager, who saw me and asked that I wait for her. I was fed up by that time. I should have read the reviews here before booking an appointment. Horrible customer service. I was wanting to get my hair cut and highlighted at the Ulta Salon because they had a deal that you get 35% off your first salon use, so I thought why not! I ended up only getting it cut, (not a good cut either), and then the stylist said she needed to stop the service and then the manager would explain what was wrong. At this point the only thing I could think of why she would need to stop the service is because of the dreaded species, lice. I had just recently got my hair cut as well, and I obviously didn't have lice. And come on, you can usually tell when you do. The manager came over and was looking through my hair and being very nice and thoughtful, and asked if I had been around small children. I told her yes, because I had been around a child at one point. The manager obviously couldn't see anything in my hair, so she asked the stylist where her area of concern was. The stylist then proceeded to say "right there, I saw a bug" quite loudly. Not only did this humiliate me, it also made me feel very bad about myself. The stylist should've not been so blunt about it and should've been more thoughtful about my feelings. So as soon as I got out of there I made an appointment at a Lice Treatment center to see if I actually had the dreaded bug, and then I would proceed to get proper treatment if I actually had lice. Soon turns out I didn't have lice at all, and the stylist must have poor vision. This is why I am writing this review. The stylist should have been way more professional about the situation, and then I wouldn't have felt so humiliated. Especially since I didn't even have lice!! It angers me so much that someone would do something like that. I do not recommend going to the salon!! read more

I usually really love Ulta! I go all the time during the school year, and I always use the coupons they send me in the mail to my advantage. They're awesome!! However, my last experience was unacceptable. I had my usual $3.50 off of $15 coupon, knowing it was going to expire the next day. I found some really great sponges on sale and I wasn't sure if sale items would be excluded from the coupon, so I asked an employee who was passing by. He said, "No, you can use that coupon on sale items as long as they're not clearance and if they're not premium makeup." Awesome. So I had my $16 worth of makeup ready at the counter to checkout and I hand the girl my coupon. She scans it and my price still stayed at $16. I asked her if it worked and she said "yeah." Tentatively, I begin paying all the while she's reassuring me it worked. I thought maybe it's just tax. The weird thing is, she kept giving me the coupon back and i'm thinking, "Aren't you supposed to keep the coupon once it's been redeemed?" Turns out OBVIOUSLY the coupon did not go through and she was lying to me to hurry and get me out of the store. I'm really not a difficult shopper- I always read the coupons thoroughly to make sure I don't cause any unneccesary problems (I work in customer service too so I know the struggle.) But to straight up lie to me??? Awful customer service. Will not be going back to the Ulta in Baytown. read more

I often go to many different Ulta's around the Houston area about twice every 2 weeks. I came here because of their grand opening and I came a second time Friday, July 29th, because my favorite eyebrow lady works around here and some of my family live in Baytown. I was really happy to see an Ulta open up here and thought it was a great idea to see one in Baytown. Unfortunately, both times I've visited this Ulta it is insanely busy. So busy you're trying to make your way through the aisles without bumping into other guests. I was happy to see this Ulta carries Clinique which many Ulta's do not have. Again, another misfortunate thing was that the employees who work and stock here are not familiar with where brands and products are. The first instance where I experienced this was when the store was new and it was the Thursday after it opened. I was looking for a specific product and went to the Becca display and although I checked online and it said it was in stock at this location it was no where to be found. I went and searched the entire store for assistance and finally found someone who was stocking. She asked what product and I told her and all she said was she didn't know and that I should come back and check the next day. I did not want to do that because they had a 20% off coupon that expired the next day. I wandered aimlessly around the store and an associate came up to me and asked me if I needed help I told her my predicament and she said she doesn't know why it wasn't stocked because she got workers to stock that particular product earlier! She went and found that the workers misplaced the product! Thankfully she helped me and I was able to get my item. Second time, we were at the front register checking out and one of our products did not have a bar code and the lady at the front asked us where did we find it at so she can get another one. Third, was my most recent visit when I was looking for a Smashbox foundation and all the foundations were misplaced and not in order and were just a complete mess. It was so bad I highly doubt a costumer did all of that. You could tell it was placed there on purpose. Fortunately, all the workers I've encountered here have been nice. WOW never thought I would write a bad review but this store did nothing to help their costumer after the Christmas holidays. I received an extra Bon Bon palettes and better than sex mascara during a Christmas gift exchange and went to the store to exchange for something else. Also had a perfume that I did not like and wanted another that I did. The lady behind the counter said I am sorry but without a gift receipt or payment receipt we can not help you. I explained that I was not asking for money back just an exchange for something else in their store. Was not willing to do anything for me. Told me that they did not know if the product was bought in the store or stolen. Are you kidding me I explained to them it was a gift from a game and not sure who brought it so I did not have any type of receipt I just want to exchange it for another product for the same value. Nope not going to do that because theft does happen. I even called corporate and they sent an email to the general manager of the store and still a week later I have not heard from them. Called several time and spoke with an Ass. Mang telling me that they want to help me out and would call me back the same day and we would resolve this matter and guess what NO PHONE CALL Again. I can not believe that they would treat a person like this and not help out more than saying NO we can't. read more
