I appreciate that she looked over my appointment history because I couldn't remember the name of the treatment I received previously and she asked if I wanted to add Olaplex again so to her. I haven't let anyone cut my hair in about 10years due to multiple bad experiences (none at Ulta), but she made me feel so comfortable. Throughout the treatment she checked on my scalp, made sure I wasn't burning, asked if any areas were more sensitive. By the time I was done rinsing I was confident that she would understand that I only want a trim, and be willing to work with me to get rid of my dead ends over time. Majority of the staff did not feel welcoming. I came in the middle of the day and they were stocking majority of their shelves (which I understand has to be done) but the workers were taking up the whole aisle. I could barely look at the shelves and they never once offer to move or ask how I was doing. Just felt like they were just staring at me and didn't care. I believe you should stock your shelves after store hours or at least offer assistance. Also I had a nice coupon and had the cashier lady scan it but for some reason it didn't take it and she never mentioned anything so I didn't realize till I got home. Can I just shout out how much I love the staff here ! The holidays were crazy and everytime I had to come back they were more than happy ro assist ! The holiday specials and gift sets were great ! The perfume and cologne sets are anywhere from $14 -$110. The salon is always busy and great coupons to use there. They do anything from haircuts and color to perms and blowouts. This rating is for the Benefit Brow Bar only. I don't get my brows done on a regular basis, though I'm sure i should more often. I have lucked out with being able to be a walk in each time, or I have gotten an appointment with ease. Amber has done by brows the past few times, and she is a definite pro. She can visualize what your brows should be and can find the natural shape they are. She doesn't overdo it and she doesn't make you look fake. I'll continue to go to the brow bar at this Ulta location as long as she is there, and I have no doubt that anyone else who is there working will do just as amazing a job. read more

I love Ulta. I've gone to many locations over the years and have had great experiences. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for this one. I've been here 4 times in the last 6 months. Each time has been a disappointment. Sales in the flyer, not marked on the shelves. (This makes it harder to identify what products are on sale) Poorly stocked shelves. Shelves in disarray. Long, slow moving lines. So many products out of stock. Trying to find someone to help you figure out when a product might be back in stock is a challenge. When you do, they don't know the answer. I so want to support this place and shop locally, but I'm thinking it might be easier and less stressful to shop online. read more

This review is for the Benefit Brow Bar. I walked in without an appointment and luckily was able to get my brows done right away. Micah was absolutely AWESOME! I felt that she actually cared what my brows looked like, and put effort into making them look good & making sure I was satisfied. The only downside for me is that their brow bar is rather expensive, compared to salons I've been to. $30 for brow and upper lip wax is a lot! I only go to this one because it's closer but when I have time I usually go to the one on Juban (even if the tax is higher). Customer service is a rare flower because no one will actually ask you if you need help despite you going around looking lost. Most of their stuff is usually out of stock, promos are usually out too even if you called ahead of time to confirm they still have it. Not the biggest or best selection of brands at this one. Their hair salon is the worst! Do not book with them for anything unless you want to go for the messy, not done hair look. I booked a blowout (usually go with DryBar, but they close early) one night for an event and I know my hair is long (15in) so I was prepared to pay extra for the length. Now when I was consulted with the stylist, she gave me the price of the blowout and for the length of my hair but did not tell me it was extra for curls ( I assumed it would've been like DryBar). She had me booked for 7;30pm, I got there and waited an extra 15 mins for her to finish the client before me. So I didn't start until 7:50pm. Like I mentioned my hair is long, so for her to take only 10 mins washing it, is speed that no one else have ever done. It took her 20 mins to blow dry and pull my hair straight, another 15 mins to curl my hair. I have told her not to use a lot of hair spray because I can not stand the smell and I am prepared for it to fall down easily. I finish by 8:40pm and paid $52. She charged me an extra $10 for curls. As I was driving home, i noticed my back was getting slightly damp, so I ran my hands through it. And what do you know, the inside of my hair was not fully dry and the ends of curls were still somewhat damp and falling already. I called the store as soon as I could but it was after 9pm so no one picked up. I ended going back home and curling my hair all over again by myself, I gave their customer service a call and they "submitted" the case for me. The person i spoke with told me to wait 2-4 business days before someone from the store can get back to me. That was a Friday night so the weekend passed and still no one called me back. Tuesday of the following week I came back into store and met with the manager working that shift. I have never met such a nasty attitude, stuck-up, and mean manager in my life, her name was Megan or Morgan. I had the receipt with me and showed her I came just the past Friday and my experience. She continue to look at me as if I was liar and that it was entirely my fault that I paid $52 for a blowout that didn't last a full 30 mins. She then told me that she did not receive any case from customer service even though I showed her the timestamp and how long I was on the phone with them for. After I left, I called customer service again and explained the whole thing again including the way I was treated that Tuesday to the person and this time I asked her to send me a copy of the transcript or case that she was going to send to corporate and the store. After a week of endless call and emails to customer service, I finally met with the district manager who was able to offer me an apology. read more

This store has various higher to low brand name beauty products, all in one place! Skin care (The Body Shop, Burt's Bees, Neutrogena) , hair care, make up (NYX, benefit, too faced, NARS, etc), tons of perfume (Chanel, Burberry, Michael Kors), name it all. It's basically like a trip to a small Sephora, the mall, and CVS at the same time. I could spend hours in this place... And more hours than I'd like because there's only one available employee on the floor. I've been here a few times and it's the same consistently. I've worked in retail and I've been in customer service even longer. I understand BUSY. But there are just not enough employees working here, especially for weekends and sale times. If you have a question, you have to go to the register. BUT I can say that the employees that DO work here, are pretty friendly. They're upbeat. They just need more of them!! read more

I enjoy going to Ulta. They have a lot of products that are carried by salons, but they sell them at cheaper-than-salon prices. It also tends to be a little cheaper than Sephora, from what I have noticed. It is my go-to place for when I want to try out a new product that may not be carried by stores like Walmart and Target. The store is, generally, well-organized and tidy. It is easy to get in and out quickly, and even when there is a line at the registers, the staff tends to make sure it moves quickly. read more

I went to this store on 3 separate occasions to get color matched for makeup and could not find one person to help me. But I walk right into sephora, which uses some technology to match your skin electronically. Sephora color-matched me right away without me waiting for 15 minutes only to still not be helped like in ulta. I'd rather pay Sephora's prices than end up not getting helped at all. Seriously either just go to Sephora or Walgreen's (which now carries NYX) or go to Ulta's website. If they could fix their staffing, stocking, customer service, and disorganization, this place would easily be my go-to. read more

However when I finished getting my hair done I was looking for a bottle of CHI heat protectant and I always look for the products myself before I go ask someone to assist me. I found someone who worked there and told her what I was looking for and she just said "it's on the CHI table in the back" and I said I looked back there and couldn't find it. And says "well we must be out" and didn't even bother going to look. To me that's really bad "customer service" I have experience in customer service and I do everything I can to help someone even if it's as little as helping them look for something. This place is a great alternative to Sephora for certain items. They also sell basic make up and hair products...i.e. Cover Girl and Neutrogena. Just be careful because sometimes their basics cost much more than at Target/Wal-Mart. Never buy anything without a coupon because they always have them and if you join the Ulta Club you will get them in the mail every 2-3 weeks. It's much easier to get in and out of than Sephora; however, they don't carry everything Sephora does. read more

Racist store! Never was asked if they could help me but as I was smelling perfume with a coin pouch, dicks sporting goods and keys in my hand I noticed 2 employees that kept floating around me. Mind u all the perfume bottles have sensors and the perfume is in the front middle with a 2 sells rep at the door. When asked for a test strip I was told they only had Kleenex over there by the big sloppy looking Caucasian associate. Her and the lady security with the dreads kept circling in my area - mind u the Chanel perfume I was smelling was all on the same shelf so their was nothing being hidden or moved. I believe it was because I was black there were plenty of white women in there that they did not treat so poorly. FYI not every black person steals - I won't be shopping there again or ulta - it gives off Convenient store vibes anyway. I decided to leave and go to Dillards to spend my money. Some of the staff in the makeup section are horrible and have and attitude to make matters worse. They are more interested in texting and answering email than they are at helping customers!!! That is shameful and embarrassing. If they were on commission I am sure they would be hustling to provide customer service and customer loyalty. Also, if you have questions on how to use a product they push you to take a class at $50 and then buy the presenter's products with a $50 credit. So what if that company's product is of inferior quality? Well, you are stuck not taking the class or out the $50. You are better off going to Nordstrom, NM or Saks and buying your products from there as well as getting a personalized makeup lesson. I am very disappointed with Ulta!!! I am a woman of "a certain" age - 50+ and have to say that I just had my last visit to the Ulta Store at the Mall of La. location. I was invisible to these people. There were plenty of salespeople - they just weren't interested in helping me. Just like in Pretty Woman that was a big mistake! I had a wallet full of cash and was ready to spend some $$$$. My friend who was with me had no trouble getting help - she's 12 years younger than I am so I guess they could see her. I did end up buying some foundation just because I was out of it - I really shouldn't have spent any money there and won't be going back!! I'm only reviewing the salon inside of the Ulta. I wouldn't recommend going there at all. They butchered my hair and didn't do what I asked at all. She didn't even understand what I was asking her to do. It was simple enough. I asked for long layers but she cut it one length and just tried to blow dry it inward so I couldn't tell. I ended up looking like Johnny Depp on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Also, she told me a price for the services after seeing my hair, but when I went to pay , she added $10 for longer hair.
