so i have been getting my hair done here sporadically for about a year and a half and had one experience that wasn't too awesome... i posted pictures so you could see. the first picture is what i asked for and the second is what i got (it's purple like that because i tried to color my own hair with splat and it didn't turn out great. it's been over a year since that cut and my hair is still growing back. i have since switched stylists and meghan is amazing! i do recommend Eutopia! It is a tad expensive and somehow the total always ends up being way more than what i estimated by the prices online but this salon is just so convenient and the staff is so nice! read more

After receiving a disturbing message from the owner about staff and clients not wearing masks because it would "destroy the fun experience" I am going to have to give this business one star. This is a direct violation of the guidelines posted by the CDC as well as the Louisiana Cosmetology Board. The response from the owner was very unprofessional and volatile. For your own health and safety and that of the staff who have no choice but to work in these conditions, please do not risk it. Here is an excerpt from the message: "That is why we WILL NOT BE WEARING MASKS OR VISORS OR TAKING YOUR TEMPERATURE or any other thing that takes away from the salon experience. If you feel any fear about coming into our location without a mask or without our stylists wearing one, then just wait until you are comfortable. Our chairs are already 6 feet apart and no one should be touching you besides the stylists but the salon is not going to be as safe as your home. ZERO IS MY RATING!!! I never gotten a chance to get service from here bc my daughter was turn down from being an African-American. The guy that I was talking to didn't even ask me any question about anything but my daughter age and he told me he seen my pictures from social media and they don't do african-american hair. Idk what picture he was looking at but my daughter is indeed half african-american and half asian but her hair is nowhere near african-american. He can never answer me with straight answer why he had to snoop around my profile and just me questions and then even when I told him that she didn't have that type of hair he still keep saying they don't do african-american hair. I'll start by being nice. Clean facility, friendly staff and a good vibe within the store itself. Now for the truth; I came in a few months ago to get a simple blunt bob, and for some god forsaken reason I got layers (short on top, longer on my bottom layers) and they were so fucking choppy that people thought I did it myself and was having a mental breakdown. I wish that was a joke. It's been 6 months and my hair is barely grown back to a length where if I cut it, it would all be even in a bob, that's how short they cut the top pieces of my hair. You also gave me side bangs. Which made me, a college student, look like my mother who was born in the 50s. And even she thought it looked bad. This salon rather much ruined my life for a little bit because let's face it, looks are important to our day to day life and everyone I interacted with felt bad for me because of this hair cut. I just wanted a clean bob angled downwards in the front and instead I got the worst choppy-ass haircut known to man. read more

I'm still dealing with the consequences of choosing them, over a year later. I scheduled a last minute appointment in February 2021 when I got rained out of work while I was working in the area (I've been going to the same hair dresser in Texas for 10 years but she was on maternity leave and I was working out of state). I showed the stylist what I wanted, a pretty simple balayage highlight with a money piece. I sat for 4 hours with bleach in my hair while the stylists laughed and ordered, received, and ate their lunch delivery. When the stylist finally came back, we went and she washed the bleach out and I went and sat back in her chair. My hair was literally disintegrating between my fingers when I touched it. My hair was completely healthy when I went in, and I left with fried, over processed, super blonde hair, which is not what I asked for. And to top it off, they charged me $400 because she said she had to "tone it twice." I've been using Olaplex treatments and haven't colored my hair in a year because of them, and I am still going to have to cut it off because of how damaged it is. Don't go here!!! I had my hair cut and colored here in the spring. Color was good but didn't stay in for more than 1 week when it was supposed to be permanent. When I had my hair cut, the person cutting my hair said he would take 4 inches off. He cut 6 inches off instead and said "it looked better like that". I also told him before he started cutting that I DID NOT want layers. Well he told me he added them in because "he liked the way it looked better". I was FURIOUS. (You know those awesome haircuts that you can't wait to share with everyone on Facebook. lol) Cozy, modern, yet vintage type atmosphere with good music playing in the background. Products displayed kind of randomly. Friendly folks, but not seemingly very genuine. Website advertises men's cuts starting at $25, women's starting at $35...somehow, we spent $91 plus an $18 tip for 2 haircuts that took about an hour total. It was our first time here and we won't be going back. If anyone from the salon reads these reviews and is looking for constructive criticism, my suggestion would be...for first time patrons especially, go over rates and additional charges. The prices don't have to be presented in a disrespectful way, but more as a tool to gauge how deep the client wants to go into their pockets. I didn't say anything when I was there because I didn't want to embarrass my husband, nor did I want to say anything too harsh but as days have gone by, it still weighs on my mind. Where did the extra $30 charge come from? Is the shampoo extra? Were we supposed to come in with freshly shampooed hair, still wet? Does it cost extra to have those fancy texturizing scissors go through your hair a few times? If product is used in the style, is that extra? Is there a standard amount of time allotted and if you go over that time by asking questions, requesting a little shorter, or something like that, that you're charged by the minute? Loved how my hair turned out. I got a cut and color by Chris, and he was very helpful picking out a color and did an awesome job on my haircut! If it's your first time (like it was mine) mention the virgin discount once you get there and you get $25 off your color. Also you and your friend get 50% off haircut when you refer someone. I haven't seen a salon do deals like this so I was really surprised! Their website shows all the promotions they have, and you should look at that as well before going because they give different prices depending on who cuts your hair. Avoid this salon! I had my coloring done by Alissa. She assured me that everything would be covered, however I can barely tell the difference from my hair before. The customer service by Shane is also very poor, and they would not offer me any type of refund even after I showed them the terrible results just days after. The owner of this salon, Shane, gave me the absolute worst cut I've ever had- and that's saying a lot. My fault for being talked into letting him cut my hair wet and to thin it out A LITTLE. One side ended up being thinned our way more than the other side, ends all uneven as well. He also stacked the back which I specifically said NOT to do. So not only does he not do a good job, he doesn't listen euthI couldn't tell because he had flat ironed my hair so of course it looked ok until I washed it and let it dry and then saw the disaster he had made of my hair. I went to Eutopia for a year and a half before I experienced any trouble. My stylist always was amazing. I would love for her to cut my hair again, but I had an argument with the rude receptionist that left a bad taste in my mouth for the salon. For a while, I've been driving from New Orleans to get my haircut. Recently, I had an appointment; however, the traffic was unusually congested (even for Christmas) - and I knew I'd never make the appointment. I called Eutopia, and the receptionist was rude saying, "Well you better try to hurry." At about 15 minutes past the appointment time, she called again saying that if I was not parking at that moment, I'd have to cancel. I was (actually) parking, but seriously annoyed with her tone - because I drove two hours for a haircut. I decided not to go in at that. How was I supposed to feel comfortable getting a haircut after all that unnecessary drama? When I tried to tell her that I would just cancel and did not need to reschedule, she "educated" me about the salon's policy (which would have been helpful to know when I called the first time so I could have turned around ) and told me that Eutopia was a business and that there were other clients besides me. I understand that Eutopia is a business, but there's no reason to be rude to customers. She did not even try to accommodate me. After this I was livid and could not control my temper. There was a better way to handle that situation, but her attitude got in the way, and rubbed me the wrong way. Her sarcastic phrases and lecturing tone were both uncalled for and completely out of line. I would have a clue since I have a degree in public relations. WOW.....what can I say. I had the Keratin Hair Straightener done 3 weeks ago and it's simply amazing. I had the CHI done a few years ago at another salon and my was dry - sort of felt like a perm, but not the Keratin. In case you haven't heard it's a new revolutionary hair therapy smoothing system and infuses Keratin deep into the hair cuticle eliminating up to ninety-five percent of frizz and curl from the hair, leaving the hair soft and shiny! It's actually good for your hair! I have thick wavy hair that gets very frizzy in this wonderful South Louisiana weather. My hair is now more manageable and easier to maintain. Not only is it STRAIGHTER, but it's softer, silkier and shinier. My styling time is significantly reduced because it's so easy to blow dry. No more round brushing and drying in sections. The staff is wonderful and I would recommend Eutopia and Kelsey to all of my friends! read more

Although my haircut and shampoo was a bit more than I expected to spend, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. A lot of hair salons, I find, have really kind of snotty stylists, but that was not the case here! The receptionist, (Brandon?) and the stylist, Kelsey, were EXTREMELY friendly and not intimidating at all! They both blow-dried my hair and Kelsey did a very nice job on the cut! read more

NOT the best color salon in baton rouge. i have been doing my hair blonde for years and understand the basics of doing so, im not a professional but thought i was going to a very professional salon. my hair was blonde bottoms that had grown out virgin up top. my hair stylist was actually impressed and noted to another styist 'she hasnt toned her hair in almost a year' i take good care of my hair. i specifically asked for no brassy 'warm' tones. i was told what i was asking for was a balayage treatment with shadow roots, by the owner. when i got to the chair, i was told i was going to receive highlights(a more expensive treatment, w/e good hair can be expensive) then proceeded with toning, not only did i get toned warm, but not all of my hair got toned, only the top part, not the back. the natural hair between the highlight was veryy warm (toning natural brown will do this). i called explained my problems and was booked again to fix it. perfect, good customer service i thought. i wanted to write a good review. so i went back, once again i was toned warm, but my previous blonde that is on the ends is now the cool grey color i asked for originally and warm on top. both times i was in the salon the owner neglected to advise my stylist how to properly correct, she asked for him advice and was told 'what does she(me) think'. i get that he wants to keep a 'fun' environment and the girls go to school for this, however if one of your stylists is asking for advice, give it. i will also note the lighting to see proper color is terrible in the salon, numerous times the girls were bashing on each others cleanliness(toxic environment), and i witnessed other girls getting their hair done neglected while processing. 2 stars because they tried to correct my complaint but still not what i asked for and was told i would receive. also not sure i received the 'virgin client offer' i was told i would get. read more

1st, I have to say my experience was Awesome! I went in with the expectations of having my hair trimmed, even though I had been thinking about changing my hair for months. My stylist brought me to her chair and started asking me just the right questions to make her suggest that I go for it and make that change. I could not be happier! She gave me the most awesome cut and then added the prettiest rich brunette(her description) color to my hair with a few hilights for accents(also her description), and it is just fabulous!!!! Expensive and bad, with an attitude. I had gone to super overpriced JKL before and not been happy, so read the positive reviews of Eutopia and made an appointment. The first time I went to Shane for color only having recently gotten a great haircut from Micah at 1699. The first time the color was pretty good. Second time around I got both cut and color, and I am looking forward to my fried mess growing out. My color is monotone brassy blonde with a spongy texture and my hair refuses to much of anything. I was suspicious when my $70 haircut took 5 minutes, max. That's enough to make me never go back, but having to listen to Shane's taste in movies blaringly projected in the salon while processing is a bit ridiculous. The first time he was almost rude, the second time a little better, but his assistant was rude and brusque both times. And the price was outrageous considering. Never again. read more

Anyone complaining about price clearly doesn't know that less experienced stylists charge the least and price increases with more advanced stylists. I usually go to Emily, who recently moved, and my price was always $35. She did a good job too. My hair has been long my entire life and I had her cut it short. Unlike a lot of hair stylists, she actually did what I asked instead of doing what she thought would look good and I think it came out great! People who begged me not to cut my hair complimented me on how good it looked. Emily was also the spray tanner and did a great job with that too! I like eutopia overall. NEVER had an issue with rudeness- remember that you get what you give, and if you're rude to someone don't be surprised if they aren't eager to deal with you. Maybe these angry customers are asking for unfashionable styles and regret the choice when they see it on themselves (I know I've done that before by asking for a simple trim and then complaining that my hair didn't look any different). read more
