She did not understand what I wanted and kept pushing me to do what she wanted to do. I hung up and when I called back, I spoke to a girl that was amazing. I explained what I wanted and she did exactly that. Cassidy was professional and really listened to what I wanted. She explained the process and how much it would cost. Last month- I booked an appointment at Ulta for my hair on a special day. Before scheduling online, I made sure to call and confirm that I wanted simple curls with volume at the scalp. I wasn't sure if I wanted any additional styling. Over the phone, a representative told me to book the "formal event hair" service, which costs $80. However, she assured me that if I only got curls with volume and no additional styling, I would be charged $50. She emphasized booking the formal event service to secure the stylist's time, in case I decided to add more services, but she reassured me that the price would be adjusted accordingly. Following her advice, I booked the formal event service. On the day of my appointment, I arrived with my makeup done and my hair washed. The stylist did my curls, and I decided to pin one side, but in the end, I only got curls. The entire process took just 30 minutes since I have very thin hair. I then asked if they could help me apply lashes, so I purchased a pair at Ulta. They told me it would be an additional $11 since applying lashes would be an additional service. I agreed to the charge. Once my hair and lashes were done, they handed me a ticket to take to the register for payment. I was charged the full $80 for the hair service, plus $11 for the lashes. I explained what I had been told over the phone, but the stylist advised me to speak to the cashier at the register. At the register, I explained the situation to the cashier, who then called the manager. After five minutes, the manager arrived and asked me to explain everything again. I repeated the story, but they asked if I remembered the name of the person I spoke to on the phone. Unfortunately, I did not, but I showed them my phone history as proof that I had called their number on that specific day before booking. The manager just stood in front of me, saying, Umm, umm, while speaking to someone on her walkie-talkie. At this point, I was already late for my event. I asked if they could simply adjust the price and charge me for the service I actually received. The manager responded that it was difficult and that she didn't think they could do it. Our conversation was calm and not heated, but at that point, I didn't want to ruin my mood on my special day, so I just paid and left. The frustrating part is, if they could easily charge me $11 for lash application service, why couldn't they adjust the price for the hair service I actually received? I only got curls, and my hair was done in just 30 minutes. $80 for that? Come on, Ulta. You're already overcharging by at least a dollar or more on every item you sell. Instead of feeling good about my new hair, I was so mad! The hair color and highlights that I wanted did not happen. The hair person named Jade is very in experience who has to rely on another person about the color. She went to smoke and did not wash her hands prior to touching my hair. I felt like she did not get a proper training on her job. She kept getting dye on my face and told her I am using an acne medication on my face so my skin is highly sensitive it will react. She is the best kept secret in Bastrop- my hair is long and thick so it takes about 4 hours to do- most stylists let me know how much extra work that is but Lucinda said it was fun! She is genuine and VERY good at what she does- my previous stylist charged more than twice as much as Lucinda- I'm so happy to have found her! read more

Relaxer gone wrong I went in for a relaxer one week after home coloring my hair. I told the stylist this before she even touched my hair and she said it would be just fine. Well, it's not. It's burned so bad I'm going to have to get it cut super short because of the fried ends. It's like trying to brush straw, I'm very disappointed. If she would have said it might be a problem, I would have gladly waited and came back a few weeks later. I've shopped at Ulta for many years and today was the worst experience I have ever had. It was all because of Shana, this customer service associate that was extremely rude to me. There was an issue because of price stickers that were left on. When I asked if they would honor the offer she said no but didn't explain to me why and since it's pretty standard for stores to honor mislabeled items, I asked if they could. Every time I would try and explain this I was being interrupted. I asked repeatedly if I could speak without interruption and I was just being talked over. I understand that stores have policies but it wasn't being explained to me very well, I was just being talked at in aggression and interrupted. I finally asked the manager to come over. The manager wasn't the nicest either but she at least listened to me and calmly explained to me that she couldn't honor the price. While I was speaking to the manager, Shana STILL kept interrupting. The manager, even though she also looked aggravated (probably no fault of her own, being a store manager is a hard job and she was walking into a stressful situation) offered me goodies for the trouble (which I politely declined). I left the store feeling defeated, thanked the manager for listening to me and didn't understand why Shana was so mean to me. Is it because I'm of a different ethnicity? A younger age? Not wearing fancy makeup? Nobody should ever have to question why they were randomly being targeted. I get that she was probably trying to shut me down fast but its also completely normal that a customer to ask questions regarding policies. It would have taken a few minutes at most to at least listen to me and explain the policy. It wasn't even busy at the store (quiet Sunday afternoon). I used to work retail for 8 years myself and I completely understand that policies exist for a reason. But it's NOT ok to leave the customer feeling like they were not listened to and being yelled at for asking a simple customer service question. read more

Went into this store with my wife shopping early birthday gift of cologne for me. Me knowing exactly what I want go straight to Sauvage and take one from the shelf and attempt to follow my wife around as she shpps. I was immediately approached by one of the sales rep who takes the cologne stating she needs to get me one without a sensor on it because it's already starting to go off. We continue shopping and I'm noticing Noone else had their stuff taken from them and placed behind the counter. I regret not walking out when this happened but I tried to tell myself maybe it's just policy or how they do things. But the more I thought of it the worse I felt knowing I had been racially profiled. We will be returning this cologne the very next time we are in town. I have never really bad a problem when coming into the location here in bastrop, except for today. I was looking for then new Urban Decay cosmetic naked petite Heat Eyeshadow palettes (the one with 6 shades) I walk in no one says anything to me, town are talking and doing each others makes up. I to where the eye shadow and look for it myself, with no luck I go ask for help. I show what I was looking for and told I have seen aids for it and something I want to buy. She just looks at me and call on the wacky talky no answers back, she goes and ask someone else and she has to repeat herself 2 times across the store! So I have always shopped with Ulta and I have an rewards account with them and I don't have my app hooked up to my rewards because it says it can't find me. So I online ordered and did the curbside pick up same day, and when I got my bag I noticed there was no receipt. I tried the products out for like two weeks, and there were two of them that I knew I wanted to return. Again, I have no paper receipt but I do have the online receipt. When I get to the store to process this, they told me I couldn't do it? I just don't get it. They're like if it was linked to your rewards then we could have. But what if I was a brand new customer and I didn't want the rewards but I had the receipt. I'm just confused like if that's a perk then ok but it's like you can obviously see my order history and how much I shopped with y'all. And so then here I was trying to truth two products that came out to be like $50 or so, and then when I walked out, I just threw them in the trash. I usually go to Ulta in Austin, but I was visiting my sister in Bastrop yesterday, so I went to the Ulta there. The store manager was really rude when she rang up my shampoo. I'm not sure why, other than, well she's just a rude person! I left there thinking, "WOW, that's the manager?" You would think of all the employees, the store manager should go above and beyond with the customer service thing! Ulta will always be inferior to Sephora. Almost everyone who works at ulta is rude and Disrespectful, and this especially applies EVERY time you try to return something. It's like all of the employees have a grudge against you. When you go into the store no one asks you if you need assistance, and if they do they have a bad attitude about it. I wish I could give this place negative stars, I had to deal with the salon manager Megan, and she was very rude to me and acted like she didn't even want to help me. This place has gone down hill. I've never had someone act so unprofessional. I don't understand how they hire someone who is so rude and doesn't even care about their company. Went in to get my hair done and left super unsatisfied , went back and asked them to fix it to how i had wanted it the first time and they gave me the " thats going to be 200$ more" . I waited for employees at the front to inform management that I was within the location and just waiting to speak with there manager. I had recently herd a few things about the location and there employees and more but I decided why not use my skills to better this location and there team because let's face it they are not up to par. SInce I live in Bastrop, finding a good hair salon is not an easy thing to do. I went to the grand opening of the store and had a blow out. I fell in love. Honestly, I haven't had a bad experience there. Once the color wasn't what I really imagined it to be - BOOM! They took care of it the next day. NO CHARGE. Sarah does my color and cuts - she is amazing. I have had blow outs from pretty much every stylist at the salon and have not been disappointed. Plus the blow outs last me 4 days, which hasn't happened when I get blow outs at other salons. The only down side to Ulta is that I can never get out of there for under $150 - by the time I make it to the check out line, my bag is full of make up, hair care goodies, and other things I find I can't live without. read more
