Really hip and cute ambiance is this sweet little cafe. We stopped by for a light breakfast and something to snack on. It was near our hotel and in a busy neighborhood. We walked here so I'm unsure of the parking. The employees were extremely kind and helpful. An employee named Gizelle was a superstar and really nice to help us choose what to eat. One of the best mochas I have had. The cafe is in potts point near kings cross. Stumbled upon this place on morning and glad we did! Had their breakfast plate and another times crossaints. The food is ok tbh but the coffee is very good. A coffee artist works there on the weekdays that make really cool coffee art. I needed to do some work on my laptop and looking around I didn't see any outlets. But the staff helped me find one and I was able to use that. It's in one of the seats in a weird location so ask the staff is its OK to use. Generally they are pretty nice but I could feel the semi aggression between the staffs to get more tables. Stopped by for brunch on a Sunday. Place had a few tables spare. Indoor and outdoor seating. Their coffee art is pretty impressive! You wont get anything like it in Sydney thanks to their talented barista Chai. The lovely Chris told us to leave it to him and he would bring out some dishes. Highlight dishes were: -Smashed avocado, haloumi, roasted tomato, poached eggs, rocket on sourdough - Spelt pancakes with banana fritters cooked in coconut oil and coyo - Slow cooked lamb sholder with creme potato and red cabbage - Kale, quiona feta, chicken, avoado - Parsley sorbet on top of creamy base with meringue mushrooms and citrus curd (this dish will wow you pants off - tastes like splice) Creative dishes with great customer service. Went for breakfast this morning and had a lovely time. I built my own breakfast and my friend had a paleo potato plate with eggs. Everything was delicious, including the coffee. They have lots of outdoor patio seating and a great vibe. So sad we discovered this place on the last day of our vacation, we would have made it our regular spot! read more

If you're as big a breakfast fan as I am, you're in for a treat with Uliveto. Not only does Uliveto boast an All Day Brekkie menu - but the choices are extensive and supremely tasty. My pick is the Uliveto Breakfast, free range eggs, bacon, tomato and chicken chipolattas on toast, or the Brekkie sandwich piled with egg, bacon, spinach & tomato - scrummy! The must have on the menu is the amazing Walnut toast with ricotta, avocado, tomato, boiled egg and olive tapenade - an absolute must-try. A buzz always surrounds this cafe, tables are rarely empty and the atmosphere is lovely. The locals agree that this cafe is one of the best in the area, with amazing coffee, fresh tasty food and friendly, very efficient service. Got this delivered through Uber Eats. We ordered the King of the Cross Burger and Crispy chilli chicken Burger - both dishes came with fries. The King of the Cross burger was a bit plain, needs another sauce on it, could just taste the cheese and meat. The ingredients were good quality though and the fries were yum. The Crispy chicken burger definitely had more flavour with the wasabi mayo and overall ingredients in this were more flavoursome for sure. Would be good to sit in and eat and try the other breakfast items next time. Came to $30 total for both. read more

Great little breakfast spot in the Cross. Sydney's usual strategy for breakfast is usually to overprice for a portion that leaves you hungry at the end of the meal, but not this place. If you opt for a traditional breakfast I highly recommend the olive tapenade to accompany your meal! One of the positives of the state lockout laws is that we're all awake and can make good effort to experience Sydney's great cafes. This one in Potts Point is certainly one of those. The menu boasts all day breakfasts and lunch options, perfect for me as I can never decide between the two. Hubby and I went for the breakfast options and a lunch one to share. We hadn't eaten much last night, so luckily had an empty stomach. The waiter told us of the days specials and there were so many that could have tempted me. He had me at "bagel" so I got the half bagel with truffled scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and avocado. A very generous serving and a nice hint of truffle. Loved it. Hubby got the English muffin topped with blue swimmer crab, eggs benedict that were superbly cooked, runny to perfection. It was topped with a delicious citrus benedict sauce. The ingredients combined well to make a top dish. I'd suggest making this a regular. I was also eying off the gnocchi so we got this to share. It was steaming hot, beautifully presented with a big plating of gnocchi with three pieces of pumpkin, rocket and goats cheese. The gnocchi was so fresh, with a surprise of pumpkin inside the gnocchi and cooked in a pumpkin sauce. What a tasty dish. I am very satisfied and very full. I would certainly be keen to come back, there were some things on the menu that I'd also be interested to try, such as the fruit bruschetta, poached lobster roll or cinnamon and buttermilk pancakes. I need to add that this place has the best coffee art I've experienced to date. My first coffee had a dog in the art - I got so excited by the art, getting another with a flower design. Hubbys latte had the face of a person with glasses - how clever is that - pretty sure the barista is award winning in his field. The waiter was very nice, friendly and attentive, filled our water regularly (more than the 3 hatted restaurant we went to a day ago) and had good knowledge of the menu. The place was busy and there is alfresco seating and appeared to be dog friendly. All in all, a wonderful experience. read more

Probably the best breakfast place I've been to in Sydney. They are open for breakfast and lunch and get busy around ten. I normally order a mixed berry frappe, poached eggs on toast with a side of crispy bacon. The staff there are lovely and there coffee art is impressive. A new chef and some creative daily specials make this a worthwhile place to check out. How King's Cross and Bayswater Road have changed. It used to be a little buzz of activity, between Bayswater Fitness and Hugo's Lounge, Bar and Pizzeria, and other cool restaurants nearby. I've read about the woes of those in the area, and I know a number of restaurants have had to shut down. So, it was interesting to check out Uliveto, who've got the entire ground level alcove, underneath an apartment block (and the former site of Hugo's). Apparently, Uliveto has been around for ages, and I see from some reviews on the net that it had a good reputation for pastries and latte art! But there's a new chef in town... Daff's taken over and is putting his own mark on the place. And it's very much worth checking out. The atmosphere is classic inner Sydney, lots of outdoors seating and potted palms, and on a sunny Tuesday at lunchtime, when we were there, there could be not much nicer a venue, combining the buzz of the Eastern Suburbs (and a parade of gym-fit men and women walking by) with a tropical, relaxed feel. It was far enough away from the Cross to feel its energy (including through the posters for the nighttime activity in the venue...) but not be in the thick of it ('cause I really don't like the thick of the Cross). It's not that there's a view, or you're by the ocean, and you are below a big apartment building, but for some reason, I found the vibe very nice. It just seems very inner city Sydney. Truthfully, the menu looked very typical. While I was impressed with the prices (a good few dollars cheaper per main than some of the pricy cafes in Surry Hills), the offerings looked pretty safe. But then I noticed the special's board, and had a hard time deciding between the blue swimmer crab eggs benedict and what I chose: fresh corn bread with poached eggs and avocado. But even what was on the menu was absolutely fine. My lunch companion said that it's not so easy to get a Smoked Salmon Salad right, so it took us a little while to try to figure out: why did it taste so good? Maybe the bits of roe? Or the perfectly light dressing. Whatever, the combo of textures and flavours was pretty much perfect. As was the case for my dish, with eggs, crisp bacon, and yum: corn bread. Did I mention corn bread? Service was top-notch and we had a nice chat with the chef too. And we drank some wine. At lunch. Because we could. All in all, great food, lovely atmosphere, top-notch service. I'll be back. Try it out - and order from that special's board! read more

New Menu! - The Lowdown: When you mention Kings Cross to someone, the thought of a big alcohol fuelled night and kebabs instantly springs to mind. Fortunately, there are some trendy little eateries popping up all over the place - one of which is Uliveto Cafe. This cool little cafe is launching a new seasonal menu with items rotating on a bi-weekly basis; some which include Bulgogi Arancini with Red Aioli , Eastern Spicy Fried Chicken Finger with Pickled Daikon , and my favourite, Uliveto Fish and Seaweed Chips . The Bulgogi Arancini balls with Red Aioli were a deliciously different spin on the usual, bite sized morsels of tastiness. The Uliveto Fish and Seaweed Chips, don't even... these things were so soft and tasty, the seaweed chips balanced it nicely with a nice crunch. - Pro Tip: This is a trendy little joint where you could take your partner for a good coffee and light food!
