The owner Danny is an amazing human.... kind, patient, knowledgeable, honest and very experienced in this business. I am grateful I was referred to him. Finally 7 months later we have functioning and efficient ducts! Backstory: I chose another company to replace our old ductwork from the 1950s based on their reviews, plus they were servicing our HVAC for a few years. They even replaced our heat pump unit 3 years ago in this very home so I thought I'd stick with them. They also came in way lower compared to other bids. I didn't realize ductwork replacement is completely different than a technician servicing or installing a new unit. After the duct install I realized our home was not cooling the way it used to. We had to use portable air-conditioning units ALL summer because something was off. I called the company back multiple times and several of their technicians could not diagnose what was wrong. Even the owner and senior manager came out and they said only one of the ducts needed to be attached better but even after doing that one adjustment nothing improved. Their HERS guy dropped by and said the registers were all blowing air fine. After the company abandoned me since they couldn't figure out the problem I called Hoyt to do an audit because I KNEW something was terribly wrong. They created a 15-page report showing over 50 code violations, it was crazy! No wonder our home wasn't working the same way, even when we had ancient ducts! I called the City of Sacramento after I TOLD the other company to apply for a permit since they never did (which they agreed to). I then showed the City the audit report and they said it would never pass a HERS test. They sent the installer the correction notice but I knew I didn't want them stepping foot back in here. I also dealt with the Contractor State Licensing Board and was able to get a partial refund after much negotiation with the installer. I then hired Hoyt right away to redo the entire project. Here we are 7 months later and we now have brand new functioning ductwork in our home that feels and LOOKS amazing, thanks to ductwork that is installed like a textbook. Thank you Robert, Dyas and Danny for an outstanding job! I will be referring everyone I know to your business. PS - I've included a mix of photos of the before and after. A++ Company! So,…read morefunny story about how we connected with this company. We stopped by my in-laws' house in EG last night. It had been a hot day and we noticed the A/C fan in their house was blowing loudly but it was sweltering inside. Took a peek at their thermostat, which read 77 but felt more like a 87 in our house. Temp was set for 72, but was not cooling. We commented that their A/C didn't seem to be working. Father-in-law said he would call one of the companies that sent an ad in the mail for "$49 A/C Tune-Up." We told him it'd definitely cost more than $49 to fix the issue, and that was just a ploy to get customers to call them and upcharge. I told them we'd contact the company that has helped my parents in the past. So I quickly logged on to Yelp to find the company. They were pretty quick to respond in the past, so I figured they would call the next day and set up an appt. I sent a message to them and was very surprised when I got a message back from them in minutes! Gave them a call and Vince told me he actually had a guy finishing up a project in our area. I was shocked because it was almost 8pm! He said they had two shifts for their company, since people are having A/C issues around the clock. Long story short, Brian showed up around 10-15 minutes after I got off the phone with Vince. I was kinda in disbelief about how fast everything had happened. We definitely didn't think we'd find a company who could make it out to their house while we were still there! Brian diagnosed the problem as the unit lacking refrigerant. Added 2 lbs of R22 and pretty soon we could feel cool air circulating through the house. Throughout the night, Vince kept in constant communication with us and had a fantastic sense of humor. When I told him the A/C was working now, he sent a Carlton dance gif, lol. After Brian left, Vince sent me an invoice. When I saw it, I thought, "Oh interesting, they changed their logo." A few minutes later, I realized I had actually messaged a different company on Yelp than I had intended. The companies' names are practically identical, except the other one had the word "plumbing" in it, lol. I told Vince of the mistake and we kinda laughed about it. He said, "We were meant to be!!!!" :) I was able to pay via Venmo and Vince was able to give my in-laws a senior discount. It was not cheap, but based on how quickly they were able to fix the issue, the convenience was worth it. Highly recommend this company and they will be our go-to in the future for HVAC repairs.
