I have been using TRC for 4-5 years now. They do my maintenance 2x a year. I've had issues a few times and they came out in a timely matter and got my system right back up. Yuri has always been the one sent out to me and he is a good tech. I recently called them because I was hearing rattling. I was hearing it from all vents in each room. When they first came out, he couldn't pin point it an of course it wasn't rattling very noticeable when he was there. Recorded the sound and send the video the next day. Todd, the office manager, awesome guy, re-scheduled me for another appointment the next day. He sent out a different guy, Darryl, super knowledgeable. He was out my house for a nice period of time and lo and behold he found where the darn noise was coming from! So happy to know I don't need to cut into the ceilings thinking it was duct work! TRC was, by far, the lowest quote for a gas to heat pump HVAC conversion. In fact, they were less than half the cost of most of the other quotes for similar equipment. There were no pushy sales people, and they gave me several different options with different equipment and price points. They even dug deeper to lower the cost after I left everything on ice for a while. They accommodated my schedule which was limited and were in and out in the 2 days that they quoted, even though they had to stay late on a Friday. They fit me in very quickly, showed up on time and worked wonders. It was $80 for the install which is fair since I didn't have to risk messing something up. Chris Todd is amazing! I reached out on Tuesday morning after our 15 year old Trane HVAC stopped blowing air the night before. Chris came that afternoon to diagnose the issue (fan blower motor was out, and needed to be replaced). We are in the midst of a heat wave, triple digit Sacramento heat this whole week coming up, and we are so grateful he was able to fit us in his schedule. Chris' brother Zack assists with his scheduling, and was super communicative with letting us know that they found the part and he would be repairing our HVAC Friday morning. Chris is an excellent HVAC contractor. Honest, reasonably priced, knowledgeable, and reliable. We had him put in a whole system, heat and air and he was easy to work with and everything went smoothly. He discussed our options with us and understood when we asked about weighing costs with benefits. The only thing is that he's pretty busy so if you're looking for a short turn around, he might not be able to fit you into his schedule unless you're willing to wait a couple of weeks to a month for him to get you in. For us, it worked out but I understand that some people may need HVAC installation in short order. I don't have any experience with him for repair type services so I'm not sure about his availability for that. A year ago, the August heat of 2019 put a fork in the old system. The first random guy we called gave us the dreaded, "It's dead. There's nothing that could be done" lecture complete with visuals from our dilapidated and outdated system. The guy toiled with it for an hour or two and hopelessly with no results at a restart. Ominously at the mercy of a stranger, we heard his sales pitch, and said, "Thanks." I paid him for an unproductive house call and to hear his extorted sales pitch. Pit in stomach was growing exponentially at this point. Thankfully, we stumbled across Chris Todd (credit: E.S.M.G. FB Accolades! You know who you are!). I contacted Chris as sweat dripped down my face in desperate need of A/C relief. Chris gave me a straightforward answer. He could make time to see if he could get what I had up and running, but let me know any major jobs would have to be scheduled out as it was peak season. Had another license verified HVAC pro come in yesterday to inspect our furnace (had stellar Yelp reviews) due to concerns of a possible carbon monoxide leak. They arrived an hour late and went up to the attic, then the owner proceeded to tell me there were cracks in the heat exchanger and would be approx $3500 to replace the part (if its still even available). He recommended replacing the entire furnace and a/c unit for $12k-15k. Also did a carbon monoxide test with his tester and stated it was reading 2 parts per million (which he did not show me on his device). I decided to get a second opinion with TRC. They went up, took video of the heat expander and it showed zero rust or cracks, not to mention 2 parts per million is not considered hazardous at all. I appreciate their integrity and quick service. On 9/15/15 Chris came over to fix my AC unit on the house. Todd's Repair and Construction provides excellent service in a timely and professional manner. Due to rodent damage throughout my HVAC and ductwork system under the house, it was necessary to replace all of the ductwork. Chris Todd, the owner, provided the best price compared to several other companies. In the middle of the replacement they discovered a leak in a water line under the house. They were willing delay the work until the plumbing repair was completed. Fortunately they had completed the removal of the old ductwork making it easier for the plumber to remove and replace 35' of piping. Todd's came back a few days later and completed the job. Chris and his crew were so polite, cleaned up each day, and they were a pleasure to work with.
