The first time I lost sleep was because the maintenance guy flooded my rv when he turned the water on before letting me know he was going to do it. This is twice now that I have lost sleep and can not go back to sleep before going to work. It be nice if the lawn would get cut on Fridays when I an off and don't care if I get woken up. To top it all off the management did nothing about the maintenance guy flooding my rv.

Tammy was incredibly helpful, especially when it turned out we had to stay longer than planned and so needed to extend our rental. We wound up having to move to a different apartment for the extension. Since that happened on short notice, during the Houston Rodeo no less, I am grateful Tammy was able to find us a place in the same complex at all! Both apartments were well-outfitted with towels, linens, kitchen stuff. There were a couple other things we requested and Tammy was able to provide them. Having a real apartment where you can cook your own meals is so much better than being in a hotel. Hopefully we won't need to come back to Houston, at least not for medical stuff. They were very accommodating getting us into a 3 bedroom apartment in the amalfi apartment homes. That's were everything fell apart. When we moved in there lots of dead bugs in the decorations that the company had put out. Most of the blinds didn't work. There were ants and roaches everywhere. The dryer was broken. There were what appeared to be blood spots on the walls. The windows leaked every time it rained. The kitchen sink baked up more than once. The dishwasher was about to fall out of the cabinet. The company attempted to fix most of the issues. But when they charge $5,575.00 a month $180 per day I expect to not have to deal with these type of issues. My advice is steer clear of this company. There are many other companies out there and all of them seem to charge less. I moved out after a month and I am in talks with them to try to recoup some of my $5,575.00. Finally spoke with a manager who offered to waive the $175.00 cleaning fee and the $350.00 pet fee. I argued that wasn't sufficient and he told me to pack sand. By the way the windows still leak!!!

In addition, they don't hold property owners accountable to maintain their lawns etc. They also charge outrageous fees when you sale your property in this poorly run community. The initial investment was great, but sadly they're not maintaining the investment they've made in the amenities. Examples are the poor maintenance of the gym equipment (bikes, A/V equipment in the gym, weights, pools, etc). I'm so glad to have sold the house in cane island. I loved the house, but not cane island.

It will be awesome once completed. We were lucky enough to get in early. I believe the amenity center (which looks amazing) will be done in november. If you access the cane island website through a mobile device, you can see which homes are sold and which are available. There are lots of other cane island homeowners like us who drive through the community whenever we get a chance because it is amazing to see all the progress. We see lots of Katy Police officers driving through as well, which adds some comfort. The living arches at the entrance way light up at night and change colors (so cool). They have also had a taco truck come out and a lobster truck come out recently. The tax rate is high but worth it, in my opinion! Other news: One of the playgrounds is going up, the splashpad and amenity center are going up, the sidewalks around the lakes are finished (mostly), light posts are going up.
