Amazing instructors. Great place to train for people of all levels and ages…read more You can be a hack like me or train with legit professional fighters. I love it.

Let me start by saying, I have tried so many outlets to assist with my fitness and health…read more It started with Ballys, then went to LA fitness Lucille Roberts Planet Fitness Curves The Kroc BLINK back to Planet Fitness various aerobic sessions (Zumba and Tabata) and finally neighborhood walks/jogs. None of these things kept my attention. I got bored after about two weeks. I am a quitter and I am someone that does not like challenges. I love my comfort zone and I love to eat my feelings. It's what I do. Stout has changed that! My very first class, western boxing, taught by Ty. I don't know a thing about boxing. I do not watch boxing, I know some big names but I do not watch. So I show up at 5:20pm, I'm just standing there, ready to run out (again, quitter). He walks over, introduces himself, and tells me to warm up with shadow boxing. I said I don't know how to shadow box. He gave me the option of jumping rope or jumping jacks. I didn't want to do that, I don't know why but I didn't. he said you got this. I immediately said, ya know what I do. Stoutpgh and their staff is not intimidating AT ALL. It may feel that way if you have never stepped in the facility or if you are thinking about previous Arts schools and maybe they were jerks. Everyone is helpful, constantly guiding you and correcting you with positive reinforcement but also praising you when you do something good! I do love hearing "Good Kia" or "Nice Kia" or "Great job Kia" Class two, it was a bag class. I met Brody, he introduced himself. I stood in front of the heavy bag confused. before I could even get his attention, he came over and assisted me. I walked out of that class throwing 1, 2, and 3 (didn't know what a 3 was), and a switch kick. NICE! I went to class three, signed up that day. Zack, said you have another free class. I said, I don't need it. lets get this party started!!! I want you all to know, I am 44, 4'11, and 263.7lbs. I do not feel like the "fat chick", or the "old chick", I feel like a person. Stoughpgh let's you be a person, not a label. Many times we think we have to get in shape before starting something to get us in shape. How bass ackwards is that??? I didn't think Stoutpgh was for me, I didn't think I could do it. Boy, was I wrong! It is for me, it is for EVERYONE and EVERY BODY!!!! Again, EVERY BODY!!!!!! I look forward to class, actually look forward to going. I am so surprised by that, haha! Staff Cleanliness Availability of Classes Prices Oh last thing, I am funny about what I eat throughout the day. I know I have to train so the idea of just eating anything, I stopped that. I know what will make me feel sluggish, bloated, or just gross. I care about what I take in so that I can be productive during class. No one said anything to me about how/what to eat but it's like my brain clicked on a light that has clearly been dark for a long time.

Through support and sheer fun (classes are such a blast!), I started coming more often and consistently and taking more classes. Sensei Danilo is a legend in the world of Martial Arts along with his family, but he is not motivated by money -- he genuinely wishes the best for all students and works with each person to set them up for not just success, but overall happiness and well-being. I highly recommend this academy to all persons, be it professional MMA fighters looking to join a hard working squad and take their game to the next level, or persons new to martial arts looking to find a great circle of friends and while exercising and learning a skill that could save a life some day.

Indio Dojo was highly recommended from trusted sources. The instructors were extremely friendly, patient, professional and welcoming, which contributed to a great training environment. I was also happy to have a variety of classes offered during the morning, afternoon and evening, this is helpful for scheduling, especially for individuals that work shift work. I have tried a few other BJJ schools in the past and have enjoyed Indio Dojo the most. I highly recommended Indio Dojo to anyone looking for comradery, interested in self-defense, in law-enforcement or the military or just looking to learn something new.

Never EVER did I imagine myself doing this. 100 pounds overweight. Hopeless and embarrassed. Trying…read moreto chase a dream I had since I was a kid, with a body and joints that were failing me. Walked in to Jack's Boxing Gym, met him, talked to him, and suddenly the hope I lost over 20 years ago is coming back. One month in, I am slowly but surely 'fighting' my way back. There's a real sense of community in this gym from the amazing trainers to the amazing members. Best thing I ever did. I love it! It's a lot more than learning to box. It's about becoming strong, mind and body.

I love this place. We moved away, but the only fault in Jack's is that it's not open continuously…read morefrom open to close. At Jacks you can learn the sport of boxing, both technically and mentally, and you'll get the chance to demonstrate what you've learned at the gym in sparring sessions. But that's not for everyone. I never spared, but enjoyed getting loads of technical feedback on muscle memory, how to move to reduce injuries, how to wrap your hands, how to strike to keep your wrists healthy, and how to move laterally around the bag or your opponent. I would have considered if if my strength and cardio improved enough. your opponents are other gym goers, they're not their to cause concussions. But even if you aren't interested actual fighting, another phenomenal aspect of Jack's gym, is just how many training sessions they offer. Loads of other gyms will offer one, maybe two classes a day, but Jack's offers two morning classes and one evening classes most days during the week. You really won't find that at many other boxing gyms. You'll also get a killer workout every time. Abs? Yeah, you'll have to work on abs(yuck!) but you'll get a good combo of whole body workout as well so you get to develop a lean and strong physique. The other thing i liked about jack's gym are the gym goers. I ran into abuelas and seniors collecting social security, as well as high school kids and was continuously impressed that the staff at Jack's made the gym an inviting place for all fitness levels and all ages, and all goals. You can actually learn the sport at Jack's. In some title gyms you'll get some knuckle head yelling at you for an hour while you punch a bag, with absolutely no feedback on if you're doing anything technically correct, or if you're begging for an injury. At Jack's you can learn to box the right way, which really enhanced my experience. Lastly, Jack's is competitively priced as gyms go. it has a very good value for what you pay. You don't even have to take any classes, it's still a gym, and you can work on the bag or other cardio or strength equipment if the gym is open. If you're even just thinking about it, head on down to Jack's to try it out yourself, you'll be glad you did.
