The facility is older but it's clean and neat. I hate paying a ridiculous amount of money to work out at a gym where people are rude and superficial. This place is the exact opposite. I don't feel intimidated trying out free weights amongst the guys who've clearly been working out for years. No snickers, stares or sneers from others. The kindness and common goal of better health and exercise makes for a supportive environment. So glad to have this place in my hood.

This space is now reserved for personal training only. - Cycle studio and floor space is where all of the cardio equipment has moved to - The room on the 1st floor everyone used as a dedicated leg day room is now officially the squats/hip thrusts room - Studio space upstairs (zumba, yoga, etc) is now a turf room with a rowing machine, some medicine balls, etc - Mens showers are closed down - womens seem to be open? They told us the showers are shutting down for good thought - Looks like some of the mats and small equipment is behind the front desk now - just ask and someone will grab it for you Selection of machines and free weights remains solid. They've got everything I need for a good workout. Front desk staff is nice. They play music - not so loud you can't hear your own headphones, but nice if your phone is dead. Gym membership was $55 per month for the first person + $45 per month for the second person. Then there was a startup fee -- I think $50 and $25? But I might be mistaken

Don't know why I've not reviewed this place yet, you'd think that after 150 check-ins it would have…read moreoccurred to me. So let me fix that right now. I'm an early morning gym person. I mean early. My prior gym closed and after 10 years of going there at 4:30 AM every morning, I was desperate to find another place that could accommodate my peculiar taste in workout time. I needed it to be close to home and was lucky that the Training Centre had opened less than a year prior. The owners here, Sharon and Michael, are the greatest people ever. Sharon was formerly the co-owner of my previous gym and is absolutely fantastic. She is super knowledgable and very committed to making sure everyone has a good experience. She recognized the need for us early morning people and opens at 5:00AM which still works for me. The place is spotless! So clean!!! The machines are all new, they're modern and well kept, and while the space is more limited than what I'm used to and the congestion is more a function of the equipment being close together rather than by tons of people, it works! There's pretty much a full complement of Matrix equipment and free weights as well as treadmills and elliipticals. Sure, there are some pieces of equipment I wish we're there but I understand and have adjusted. I don't avail myself of the TRX classes or any of the yoga, Pilates, or aerobics but note that the room in which there held is incredibly small and limiting making registering for any of the classes an absolute necessity. It's a great gym and it works for me! Stop by and see the crew tomorrow at 5:00AM! We'll be looking for you!!

I do like the machines better here and the tanning beds, but at times they don't work properly. Or maybe it's staff error? I had to get dressed and come out and tell them My tanning bed didn't come on. Also, I asked for the full time( 9 minutes )and I only got 4 the other day. People hog the machines for too long. People are on their phones while holding up the machines for 20 minutes or more at times. Also couples and friends working out at the same machine really irritate me. Hydro massage lounges are hit or miss. Some don't work properly. Get these issues fixed please.

Update: I started…read moregoing to this one more frequently as it has a smaller crowd than Crafton. I've seen much improvement! This morning, the employee was wiping machines down the entire time I was there. I've noticed hand sanitizer bottles at almost every cleaning station. They've initiated some pretty noticeable changes, at least since my last review, and I can see that they're taking more care in disinfecting the place, which I'm very happy to see! I've also become accustomed to the layout difference from the other location I visit, and I'm starting to prefer it honestly. I think this location may be my new first choice!

The members and number of trainers have grown immensely from when I started but the customer service is still the same. Everyone from the owners to the trainers to the members are great.... Down to earth, encouraging, etc. These are group workouts that push you but everyone does it at their own level so it works. I unfortunately had to leave the gym due to factors beyond my control but after I get resituated and back on a regular schedule I will be calling Gina to reinstate me at PKB. There is nothing wrong with traditional weight lifting. I just fell in a rut and did the same exercises at the same times during the week. PKP really mixes it up. I have been to 4 classes and exposed to 3 different instructors. The workouts are different and more circuit consistency. The participants are super helpful for newbs like me. The trainers are very conscientious to ensure you do not hurt yourself. They make sure your form is on point and urge you to use lighter weights. The classes are well organized (usually split into groups and the groups are doing different exercises). Overall - it is a high recommend. I am still not able to do everything the veterans do, but I am getting better each day. Tip - I learned from a veteran - wear sandles / flip flops and put your shoes on once you are inside. The entire floor is matted so they ask you not to have a different pair for inside so you do not track water, salt, dirt, etc... Overall: Atmosphere - Fun, Busy, the hour goes fast Cost - surprisingly very affordable. This would be ideal to augment a gym. Cheaper than a personal trainer and you get huge benefits Routines - very different - I don't think I have done the same thing once in the past 2 weeks of going.
