Big gym but very unprofessional employees. I was treated poorly and told to leave by trainer Angel and another short Asian male in front of many people after being allowed to check in. Why did it allow me to check in? They claim my membership was canceled. Extremely embarrassing. Their system is jacked... They could handle these situations with investigation and a lot more care instead of assumption!! Truly, I hope they fix their dynamic for future instances. So far it has been 3 months back at the UFC gym, and I am very happy I decided to re-join. I returned specifically because I wanted to learn Jiu-Jitsu, and here I not only have the opportunity but I can learn from passionate, talented and knowledgeable instructors. I have had several one on one sessions with Jason Alvarado, not only is he great at breaking moves down, but his training prepared me for the intensity of rolling with everyone in class, he stressed the importance of being humble, and focus on learning, regardless of the outcome. I am thankful I have the opportunity to explore this passion for jiu-jitsu, and I thank Jason for helping me understand how I can get the most out of class. UFC is incredible! With tons of equipment, an amazing staff, and every amenity you can think of UFC has it all. It's clean, it's got massage tables, it's got weekend fight shows for members, it's got everything. I have been specifically working with Matthew Pollino for several months now. He's an amazing Jui-jitsu instructor with decades of experience both fighting and teaching the sport. He's a phenomenal teacher who knows how to tailor your training to your needs while being attentive and personable. Matthew is one of the main reasons why I keep coming back for lessons, not just to learn but to interact with someone who loves what he's doing, who wants his students to succeed and who will forgive them if they go too hard on the workout and blow chunks all over their shoes. Its a cool gym, usually packed and always hot! I would think for these prices for memberships they would be a little less stingy with the AC. Hot af in there 24/7. Otherwise decent staff, cool gym equipment and classes. Love the outside area and sauna. Locker rooms are clean but always out of paper towels. Thinking about cancelling but might give it a chance if they fix the AC problem. read more

WARNING! FRAUD CHARGES & POOR MANAGEMENT. I have $393 fraud and unauthorized charges to my credit card from this gym. The most recent charge for $150 (7/25/21) after cancelling my son membership on (6/3/21). I contacted the management and staff several times in person and by phone. They made commitments to resolve the issues to no avail. I do not like to give poor reviews like this one and did everything to avoid this outcome. However, I hope this help others identify current fraud they may be experiencing with this gym and/or avoid joining the gym to prevent the issues my family has experienced. I am in the process of working with my legal representation because unfortunately the management will not resolve the issue to credit back my credit card account for unauthorized/fraud charges. By far the best gym in Oxnard! Beats Golds, Planet fitness, and 24 Hour. Probably other local ones as well but I can't comment on that. Giving a shout-out to Coach Mathew! We took a private 1:1 Jui Jitsu class and I'm glad I signed up! Worth every dime. Learned so many fundamentals that you get only from an experienced seasoned martial artist! He threw in some stand-ups and real life what would you do/can do scenarios. Took his time to explain each position provided great rationale and what ifs, never rushed the lesson and always sent a summary at the end of the evening. I definitely would sign up for more classes with Coach Mathew whether it be Jui Jitsu or weight loss/shred classes. You can tell Coach Mathew enjoys helping people people meet their goals. CALLED SINCE CHARGES MINOR SON $336 FOR CLASSES (HE HADN'T EVEN ATTENDED THE ONES HE had wanted after going through hoops I find out they locked a minor into a contract for 336 a month was promised refund within 24hrs . Corporate is a joke to contact just goes to a VM that is full. I found directory via Linkedin and left messages and not one response. After 3 weeks the GM submitted request for refund and has been approved but no ETA of when it will post. Considering he is a minor, illegal practices were done, my son was in the negative and had many repercussions regarding this I would think they would make this right in a timely manner. But nope I was told they will get to it when they do and Corporate does not give an ETA. My patience is running out and next resort may be legal representation. This place ripped me off! I was never able to use the gym after I signed up. They told me it would be open in 2 weeks and kept pushing the time back. I then got a job working 72 hours a week and emailed them that I could not use my membership and needed to cancel. The girl told me to send an email. So I did. The next email days later said I had to come in and sign something, I told her I work 72 hours a week. They charged me another month and then added a $72 charge for I don't know what?! Yearly fee? I am canceling. I don't want anymore fees. This gym is just trying to take for you for everything they can. You can find a better gym that has the same stuff and not overcharged. read more

This is my first post EVER and I just could not let this one go. It is pretty disappointing. Let's list it out: 1. Body Temperate is not taken AT ALL 2. Staff don't wear masks majority of the time and don't emphasize clients to either 3. Seen 9 (and I counted) employees just standing there and not doing anything productive, other then the ones coaching. Example: Not going around the gym and making sure things are in place or sanitation areas are stocked up. 4. They DONT CLEAN THERE FACILITY. See picture. This was over more then a week apart and it's still dirty 5. Staff are not cleaning equipment as they should. 6. There are only 4 sanitation areas (2 by the stair master /1 by the exit of the outdoor workout area/ 1 in the cycling area) and trust me multiple people at the gym have complained that it's ridiculous to have to walk across the gym just to get a cleaning wipe to wipe down equipment and even then by the time you come back someone else is on the equipment. And this place just opened. 7. Bathrooms as not clean 8. People capacity is not monitored so it's packed like sardines on certain times. 9. Mats (octagon/wrestling/boxing) are not wiped down (example: one client trains (okay no problem) by then you got a client right after and nothing. read more

Scam !The gym is mediocre at best but when it comes the canceling the membership it's near impossible they ask me to pay the month off to cancel it so I did . But then they continued to try and charge my card I've called multiple times emailed and they are ridiculous when it's come to helping you cancel. This is a great gym; very clean, well maintained with a great variety of exercise equipment. The staff is very helpful and courteous, always there to help however they can. Taking Jiu Jitsu lessons with Matthew Pollino has been a blast. He's an excellent, caring instructor there to help you achieve whatever your goals are. He knows how to push without going past your limits while focusing on what it is you're there to learn. He's very flexible with his availability helping with those of us with more inconsistent schedules in our own daily lives. I've been taking lessons with him for a few months now and am much more confident in my abilities to go forward and continue to learn as well in my day to day life in keeping myself safe. Since I am going to be a first-timer, I was given a bit of background and instructions for when I begin my trial. The group ex class I want is available at this facility and at a good time for my needs.(it's a cardio kickbox class) So far I like the customer service. Mitch! Good man. Without asking he came and asked if we were satisfied with the sauna temperature. Knowing the thermometer sensor was not working properly and the sauna temp low he made sure to fix it and make it hotter for us. Again, no one asked him. Excited to be part of the UFC Family again! We had a family membership to UFC Gym in Sunnyvale and we were so sad that there wasn't one in Ventura County when we first moved to the area. The first day we that we were in Oxnard we actually saw a vacant building and said "That would be the perfect location for a UFC Gym!" Three years later it's happening and in the exact location we had mentioned. At UFC Gyms you can find something that the whole family can enjoy. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Bag Workouts, Daily Ultimate Training workouts, TRX, Yoga, even Zumba! For those that like BJJ the instructors are top notch and working out in an Octagon is pretty cool! If your a Big UFC Fight Fan, being able to watch all live UFC events at the gym basically pays for the membership, plus guest appearances by Top UFC Fighters adds another level of excitement!
