My new teammates.

Want to give T7JJ a shoutout for giving me an opportunity to better myself in all aspects. Professor Matthew holds us accountable to the commitment we made to ourselves and gives us room to grow in each class.

Sol Roth training at Triple Seven Jujitsu.

Triple Seven Jujitsu is an incredible place to train, In a world of mediocrity and "McDojos", it's a standout. Instructor Mathew teaches authentic and technical Brazilian Jujitsu, including rolling, gauntlets, and physical training. You can immediately tell, he loves the art, but further than that, his focus is on getting the individual what they need to progress and be strong. The classes are long and you can come as many days as you want to train, this is in sharp contrast to a McDojo culture of (1hr twice a week or pay more). If you want to learn real jujitsu in an environment that will challenge you and help you progress as an athlete and a person, this is the place. I'm looking forward to training here for years to come.

I can't say enough about Matthew Pollino. Professor Matthew is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has been training my 6 year old for almost 2 years. If you're looking for westernized kid's karate, then don't come here. Matthew is able to balance the complexities of BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), have a disciplined environment and still create a fun atmosphere. I suggest you sit in on a few martial arts classes from other academies/teachers and you will realize how difficult it is to teach an art like this to young kids. I've seen Professor Matthew interact with many different children and their personalities, and he definitely has a way of tapping into each one in a positive way. He'll bring the excitement out of the quiet kid and yet instill regimen on disruptive behavior. Having the balance to teach BJJ to children and keep their attention is difficult and is obviously key. This is a skill that he has mastered and is clearly seen with how much my son talks about Professor Matthew. This is not just BJJ, he's teaching principles your child can apply to everyday life. He has not only formed a true connection with my son but I feel as if I've known Matthew forever. He's a great guy and awesome skater in that Diet Coke commercial (you're welcome Professor)! Well, enough talking for now, time to get back on the mat!

Professor Pollino explains every technique to the point that a white belt masters it at the same level of a black belt. He is awesome!!!

Then a few weeks ago I noticed Krav Maga at the Way of the Orient Martial Arts right in Mid-Town Ventura. Walking distance for me really. I watched my first class then came back and participated in the next 2. I just finished with my third and stayed late to join. When the class gets under way a driven, self-confident Robert Adelman starts at it. It's fast paced but we don't just go through the motions, you can feel he wants you to learn and you are. All this time spent you're also getting a heck of a calorie burning work out. I'm getting beat, thrown, knocked down, kicked and punched while doing the same to others. Yes, safety is a concern and protective gear is worn. I'm left catching my breath while sweating my shirt thru and before you know it the class is over and I can't wait for the next one to start! I never knew a confident building self-defense class could be such hard work and so much fun at the same time.
