She can manage a smile, but was confused where the restrooms were.... She's not THAT new so one has to wonder if she's ever walked around the gym she works at. I will say that this location is reasonably clean. That said the dumbbell rack is always in a state of disarray. Dumbbells and barbells are left all over the gym. Massive trip hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen. No towel service at all. Comparing this location to Newbury Park it's hard to tell these locations are run. Y the same company. I've tried the Oxnard location a number of times and it fails every time. I was so disgusted this time I ended my workout and walked out before I was done. I just couldn't focus on my training as I couldn't locate the proper equipment and had to make sure I didn't trip over anything in any walkable area. New management is desperately needed at this location.

This location is spread over two floors, with cardio equipment downstairs and weights upstairs. Since it was leg day, I appreciated that, despite the equipment being somewhat close together--especially around the leg machines--I was still able to complete my workout comfortably. The highlight for me was the breathtaking views, which made the session even more enjoyable. I'm giving this place four stars because I understand it's a popular spot during peak hours, and I can imagine it might be difficult to find available machines at those times. The manager here is great and she does all she can with what she has to work with. The refresh looks good and the club is down the block from my house but unfortunately I spend very little time here. I've been a Planet Fitness member since the Goleta, CA location first opened, and about three…read moremonths ago I transferred to the Oxnard location. The gym is generally clean, and the staff has been friendly, but there are several issues that make it difficult to get a workout in during busy hours. It's common to see three or four people sharing a single machine, and many members spend 20 minutes or more on their phones while sitting on equipment between sets. I've also seen people leave their gym bags or personal belongings on machines to keep others from using them. The biggest issue is the lack of cable machines. During peak hours, they're almost always occupied, and I've personally seen members leave because the wait for equipment was too long. I think the experience would improve significantly if Planet Fitness: * Encouraged no more than two people to share a machine during busy hours. * Reminded members to avoid extended phone use while occupying equipment. * Enforced a policy against reserving machines with personal belongings. * Added more cable machines and other high-demand equipment. * Continued improving equipment maintenance and cleanliness. I enjoy working out here and hope management considers these suggestions. I believe these changes would make the Oxnard location a much better experience for everyone.

BEWARE OF FITNESS 19 CAMARILLO! Especially parents signing up minors for temporary memberships…read more On July 21, 2026, I took my child to Fitness 19 Camarillo for a short summer membership. We made it VERY CLEAR that it would be very temporary membership and only wanted a membership for the few remaining weeks before school resumed. The employee assured us this was no problem, that they sign up students for summer memberships all the time, and that it was a simple month-to-month membership with a $10 enrollment fee, $14.99 monthly dues, and easy cancellation. That was NOT our experience. During enrollment, we were rushed through electronic signature screens containing legal terms without a reasonable opportunity to read everything. We were never given copies of the agreement. In mid-August, we returned IN PERSON to cancel because school was starting. The employee assured us the membership was canceled. I insisted on written confirmation, which he refused or claimed he couldn't provide. I requested the manager, who conveniently wasn't available. When I explained that we lived out of town and asked when the manager would return, I couldn't get a straight answer. Again, we were assured the membership was canceled. IT WAS NOT. After discovering additional billing, we were directed to cancel online. On September 21, we canceled electronically and received an email from Fitness 19 confirming our cancellation request. That SAME DAY, Fitness 19 withdrew $74.98 from my minor child's student bank account for what was identified as club fees. This maintenance-related charge was NEVER verbally disclosed to us when we specifically explained that this membership was only for the remainder of summer. Had we known, we would NEVER have agreed to the membership. Now, after numerous phone calls and emails disputing these charges, Fitness 19's billing company, ABC Fitness, claims the membership is only in "Pending Cancel" status and that we must pay additional money to finalize cancellation. HERE IS WHERE IT GETS RIDICULOUS. We received TWO emails yesterday just minutes apart, containing practically identical wording , yet demanding DIFFERENT balances! One demanded $30.03 and the other $15.04. How does the same account, reviewed at practically the same time, suddenly have two different balances? It feels like they're pulling numbers out of a hat just to collect more money! We requested contact information from Christian for manager Andrew Katz and attempted to reach him in writing. No response. At this point, we have ZERO confidence in what employees tell us verbally. We will no longer discuss this matter in person or over the phone. Everything needs to be documented. California has consumer protection laws governing gym memberships, including cancellation procedures and contract disclosures. In person cancellations should be honored . We are now pursuing the appropriate consumer complaint channels. My advice: DO NOT trust verbal promises about pricing, fees, or cancellation. Demand copies of EVERYTHING before signing, especially when enrolling a minor. We went in expecting a simple, inexpensive summer membership. Instead, we've dealt with undisclosed charges, unsuccessful cancellation attempts, contradictory billing demands, and endless frustration. I've attached screenshots so consumers can see the cancellation acknowledgment, the $74.98 withdrawal, and the two contradictory billing emails for themselves. Fitness 19 refuses to finalize our cancellation unless we send additional money to their out-of-state billing company, despite canceling in person in August and online in September. Now they're sending nearly identical emails minutes apart demanding different amounts. Unacceptable billing practices! Shame on Fitness 19 Camarillo. Signing up was easy. Getting them to honor a cancellation has been another story entirely.

When I told him the prices were too high and that we just wanted to try the gym out first, he became visibly hostile and aggressive because he couldn't trap us into a 12-month contract. To make it even more pathetic, when we walked away from his predatory fees, he literally refused to shake my hand and gave me a bitter attitude. The gym itself is small, lame, and completely dead during peak evening hours--and now I see why. Save your money and go to a real gym like Planet Fitness or 24 Hour Fitness where they don't treat potential members like garbage. Zero stars if I could.

The gym is consistently dirty, from the workout floor to the restrooms, sauna, and even the outdoor training area. These spaces should be cleaned and sanitized regularly, especially in a fitness facility where hygiene is so important. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that the cleaning staff are often on their phones instead of maintaining the facility. On multiple occasions, the manager has been locked in the office using a personal phone rather than being visible on the gym floor or addressing the condition of the club. Members pay a premium to work out in a clean, well-maintained environment. UFC Gym has great equipment and potential, but the lack of cleanliness, visible management, and attention to detail has significantly impacted my experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the facility for its members.
