She can manage a smile, but was confused where the restrooms were.... She's not THAT new so one has to wonder if she's ever walked around the gym she works at. I will say that this location is reasonably clean. That said the dumbbell rack is always in a state of disarray. Dumbbells and barbells are left all over the gym. Massive trip hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen. No towel service at all. Comparing this location to Newbury Park it's hard to tell these locations are run. Y the same company. I've tried the Oxnard location a number of times and it fails every time. I was so disgusted this time I ended my workout and walked out before I was done. I just couldn't focus on my training as I couldn't locate the proper equipment and had to make sure I didn't trip over anything in any walkable area. New management is desperately needed at this location.

It definitely need an upgrade. This gym feels over 50 years old but I think is only about half of that. A couple things that standout on almost every visit: I rarely see staff in the workout area for cleanup, resupply on cleaning products, or just general upkeep. Maybe that's improved a small amount lately and becomes a bigger priority but we shall see. When walking in there is almost always someone at the desk but rarely do you get greeted when arriving or on your way out. I guess that's a small thing that could make someone feel welcome. Sometimes it's the little things can go a long way. This gyms location is excellent but with little competition in the area, it seems the desire to have anything other than location isn't a priority. I think this gym could easily be a premium experience but it falls way short of that and the 2.5 star overall rating on yelp is an indicator of that.

My hope was that they would purchase some new cardio equipment which for the most part they didn't. This location also does not offer nearly enough classes which has driven me away to other clubs. The manager here is great and she does all she can with what she has to work with. The refresh looks good and the club is down the block from my house but unfortunately I spend very little time here. I saw one of the regional managers here not to long ago and he said new equipment is coming. I hope it is!

I've been a Planet Fitness member since the Goleta, CA location first opened, and about three…read moremonths ago I transferred to the Oxnard location. The gym is generally clean, and the staff has been friendly, but there are several issues that make it difficult to get a workout in during busy hours. It's common to see three or four people sharing a single machine, and many members spend 20 minutes or more on their phones while sitting on equipment between sets. I've also seen people leave their gym bags or personal belongings on machines to keep others from using them. The biggest issue is the lack of cable machines. During peak hours, they're almost always occupied, and I've personally seen members leave because the wait for equipment was too long. I think the experience would improve significantly if Planet Fitness: * Encouraged no more than two people to share a machine during busy hours. * Reminded members to avoid extended phone use while occupying equipment. * Enforced a policy against reserving machines with personal belongings. * Added more cable machines and other high-demand equipment. * Continued improving equipment maintenance and cleanliness. I enjoy working out here and hope management considers these suggestions. I believe these changes would make the Oxnard location a much better experience for everyone.

The gym is consistently dirty, from the workout floor to the restrooms, sauna, and even the outdoor training area. These spaces should be cleaned and sanitized regularly, especially in a fitness facility where hygiene is so important. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that the cleaning staff are often on their phones instead of maintaining the facility. On multiple occasions, the manager has been locked in the office using a personal phone rather than being visible on the gym floor or addressing the condition of the club. Members pay a premium to work out in a clean, well-maintained environment. UFC Gym has great equipment and potential, but the lack of cleanliness, visible management, and attention to detail has significantly impacted my experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the facility for its members.
