Way overdue but Dr Cabrera is the sweetest, most patient OB/Gyn doctor. Very knowledgeable. She…read moredelivered two out of three of my babies. She was there at the hospital even at 2 AM. I wish my insurance covers this still, but unfortunately I got laid off and had this switch insurance.

Dr. Cabrera may be a great doctor, but they should definitely stop hiring incompetent staff. I was…read morereferred here by my friend who spoke highly of Dr. Cabrera. And she is nice and knows what she is doing, but all of that almost doesnt matter when the staff is always just gossiping at the desk. 1. They dont check your insurance beforehand, so if they are out of network expect a big bill. They dont care about your out of pocket expenses so long as they get paid. 2. Expect a long wait, whether the doctor is in surgery or a meeting, or in my case, the staff just somehow forgot to communicate that a patient is waiting to see her. I literally waited over an hour and after checking in to see when I would be seen I heard the MA says that "oh her chart wasnt up, I didnt know she was here" 3. They called me because apparently I had an outstanding balance. The biller said they sent me multiple statements only to find out that they didnt check the address that I wrote down on my registration papers. They had an old address, who knows where they copied it from. I mean, I tried to understand. I work in the healthcare system too. It gets busy. But careless mistakes make such a big impact on the patients perspective. Definitely a lot of room for improvement.

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I had an experience with Dr. Singleton two years ago…read morethat has stayed with me, and I think it's worth sharing in case it helps someone else. I saw her for my first prenatal checkup very early in a pregnancy. That first appointment was great: she was attentive, relaxed, and even mentioned she'd just gotten back from vacation. I remember thinking, "I finally found a great OB" and left looking forward to the next visit. The second appointment felt like a completely different doctor. She was rushed, impatient, and barely made eye contact. I couldn't tell if she was having an off day or just overwhelmed with her schedule. During the ultrasound, she struggled to find a heartbeat, and when she did, it was low. Rather than slowing down to look more closely, she seemed to rush through it just to confirm there was a heartbeat at all. I remember thinking something felt wrong, and wondering if she just didn't want to alarm me. I left that appointment with a bad feeling I couldn't shake. Not long after, I switched to an OB at UCSF and told them upfront that something had felt off at my last visit. That was when I found out that I miscarried, so my instinct had been right. I know nothing could have been done to prevent the miscarriage itself. But being rushed out of that appointment, without any real acknowledgment or bedside manner when something may have already been wrong, is something I still think about.

I have been seeing Dr. Singleton since I was 15, I am now 25 and let me say this Dr. has carried me…read morethrough the trails of woman hood with grace and care and a type of understanding beyond anything I could have asked for. Both my sister and I have faced all the bumps the road can offer and Dr. Singleton has guided us through them with a steady hand, being gentle when needed and firm when needed more. I could not recommend a better OB!

This clinic cares more about the insurance carriers than it does its patients. Both my daughter and I are patients here, and I recently left the practice due to the absolute disregard for womens' health. My new OB says a Pap smear every YEAR and she actually spends more than 7 minutes with me. It's ironic that they call themselves the Women's Health clinic. They care about anything but that. Initially I was apprehensive about seeking cafe from such a large treatment team with the understanding that any one could deliver my baby when the time came. However, I felt the care I received was responsive, timely, really thorough and informed. They didn't leave me in the dark when I had questions and they were always straight forward with me when I had concerns. Come delivery time, they were equally responsive. I had a team of residents supervised by a midwife deliver my baby, they did an excellent job! The nurses in postpartum care were also equally caring and informed - I loved how they all knew that we had a 5 year old waiting for us at home. I just can't say enough good things about the prenatal care. The lactation consultants also are equally amazing and if you schedule an appointment to meet with them they take a fully 1.5 hrs with you to help trouble shoot what issues you may have. They really are amazing. The only issue I have - and this seems to be a national one, not just related to UCSF - is that the post partum cafe is definitely lacking. I felt really forced to wait u til my 6 week appointment to see any of the MDs or NPs for a concern. They tend to bump these issues to an advice nurse and even then I felt somewhat unsettled.
