Our experience with Spring Fertility was disappointing from start to finish. We came in hopeful, but quickly realized this clinic was not the right fit for us as a same-sex couple. We've spoken with multiple people who have used their services, and the feedback is truly mixed--some had good experiences, others barely satisfactory and some were REALLY BAD. Unfortunately, ours fell on the negative end. If you are a heterosexual couple, you may have a smoother experience. However, as a same-sex couple, we did not feel welcomed or supported. We've since connected with five other LGBTQ couples who shared very similar concerns, which says a lot about a pattern rather than a one-off experience. Our doctor, Dr. Nam Tran, came across as arrogant and condescending which has the same tones in some of the other reviews on this platform. At multiple points, we felt like we were wasting his time rather than being valued patients during what is already a very emotional and vulnerable process. He was late and then proceeded to say he has another appointment and we didn't get the full time. We constantly had to call the clinic because they don't call back after leaving a message from the previous week. We always were on time for our appointments and were always delayed to be taken in. While the clinic may now have an LGBTQ staff member, that alone does not make the environment inclusive or affirming. Our experience did not reflect meaningful change or genuine understanding. We ultimately decided to leave and seek care elsewhere, which was the best decision for us. For anyone considering this clinic, we strongly recommend doing thorough research. There are lawsuits filed in 2025 in California alleging negligence and embryo loss, with concerns raised about prioritizing profit over patient care. These are serious issues and worth looking into before making such an important decision. We would not recommend this clinic to LGBTQ couples seeking compassionate, respectful fertility care. Our experience was great, our family is complete thanks to this awesome and extremely professional team.

My DR performed my egg retrieval while I had an 11.4cm cyst and didn't warn me before. I'm including a picture of my MRI so you can see it for yourself. The white blob you see? That's my cyst. It took up my entire lower abdomen and they performed my retrieval anyway without ever mentioning it to me, despite having daily ultrasounds. Initially, after my retrieval, I was in excruciating pain when I walked, slept, etc. When I called, they told me to take Tylenol. I felt like I had a bowling ball on my pelvis and cried almost every day. This pain lasted until my cystectomy months later. After the retrieval my doctor flippantly mentioned I had a cyst, made it sound like no big deal, and encouraged me to do a second round. She had me order thousands of dollars in medication and come into the office before telling me I actually needed surgery first and couldn't proceed. I had to throw away all of the medicine. They should have never performed my first retrieval and they certainly should not have encouraged a second. I now question every medical recommendation I receive because of this experience. I was in the early stages of my independent journey in family planning at Spring Fertility. Most things were great, but after the initial screening, I received a message from the Finance team requesting a $ 5,253 Coordination fee. When I asked what the fee was for, this is what they said. "To support the complex and highly personalized nature of third-party reproduction, a coordination fee is applied to cover the extensive behind-the-scenes work required to ensure your care is seamless and compliant." This to me sounds like one of those Hidden Fees no one likes. I have a great comprehensive fertility coverage through Progeny. They even cover FDA screening, which many other insurance plans don't. They, of course, don't cover the Coordination Fee. Now I'm cautious of accepting any services not covered by insurance. I'm not 100% sure if this is a standard fee at all fertility clinics, but it seems unreasonable to me. read more

Spring fertility not only offers it, it's heavily featured on their website. But, zero response. I've given up on trying to book. This is a fertility clinic. As far as the type of clinic, the name says it all. Upon arrival, I thought I was lost. I asked the security on the building lobby. They were friendly and professional. They told me where the clinic's entrance was. I made it in the clinic and I mentioned it to the clinic's front desk and she knew my name. We couldn't be happier with the experiences at Spring - everyone is super kind, thoughtful, elaborate and supportive. They also pay super close attention to all the details... ensuring a smooth and well maintained process. Which you want esp if you're paying out of pocket. If you're considering trying them, just go meet with them. We used Spring Fertility 3.5 years ago and worked with Dr. Harris at the time in Sunnyvale. He was fantastic, and so knowledgable and we had a healthy baby girl. In the Fall of 2023 we decided to go for another egg retrieval and worked with Dr Tran at the time - Dr Harris had left. Dr. Tran was also so wonderful and knowledgable. He isn't the hand holding type, but we didn't need that. We wanted the smartest person in the room and the highest likelihood of getting pregnant, and that's what we felt we got. We ended up only getting ONE egg retrieved, but that egg turned into a healthy embryo, and I am now 33 weeks pregnant with that embryo. I have a lot of friends who have gone through IVF in the bay area and I think the experience and reputation of Spring Fertility is unmatched. I would highly, highly recommend. Their facilities are so clean and you feel very taken care of during the retrieval process and during appointments. I was very scared during my first retrieval and it went so smoothly. Their anesthesiologists are just wonderful. For regular check in appts, You can get in and out of there pretty quickly which is very important when you're having so many appointments. Been calling everyday for 2 weeks as an existing patient and leaving voicemails and they do not return calls which is frankly bizarre

By two of my girlfriends' referral, I went to Spring Fertility for my egg freeze. The entire process was very well managed, with information being delivered meticulously clearly. The staff were knowledgeable and caring: I was a curious soul who had many many questions, and they were so very patient and addressed all my questions within 24 hours (long emails, mind you!). Coming here to see some of the negative reviews just now, it breaks my heart that some people had such bad experiences. Dr. Tran was my doctor, and I've had both good conversations and ultimately, a good outcome. As a woman, I can see how he might come off as robotic sometimes (sorry, just being honest!). At the same time, knowing that this is a doctor who's arguably the best fertility practitioner in the area and performs multiple surgeries a day, I can understand the pressure that comes with his insane workload and schedule. I've mostly interacted with Dr. Tran's nurses, and had five brief interactions with him (plus the final retrieval surgery under anesthesia). He appeared professional and no-nonsense, and delegated most of my questions to his staff (who are, as mentioned above, amazing). On the day of the surgery, I was clearly nervous. Dr. Tran took the time to give me a reassuring "you are in good hands". All in all, I give my journey at Spring a five star. I feel the team on my side all the time, and am thankful of them helping me make this happen. It's been a couple years now since I've worked with Spring Fertility. I've had some distance to reflect and I have a healthy two year old and six year old (not through Spring or IVF). I had an absolutely horrible experience here. I remember things being so disorganized, the blood draws being the worst I've ever experienced where no one could hit a vein properly, which I had never experienced before. The nurse staff would forget things. I didn't feel cared for at all. I was bounced around between doctors without proper communication. It had started off alright but ended just so sadly with me giving up on all of it after a year of trying IVF. I've hesitated to write this but I honestly want to warn others. My doctor and I had been tracking two follicles going into my retrieval. One was maybe 12mm and the other was around 20mm. I was lucky to get 2 eggs per retrieval. My primary doctor was not performing procedures on the morning of my retrieval. Please understand: it is *100%* at the discretion of the physician performing the retrieval to decide whether to proceed based on what they see on the ultrasound on the OR. I had already been sedated with Propofol when the doctor who did my retrieval made the decision to aspirate a 8mm follicle. EIGHT MILLIMETERS. A follicle that size cannot produce a viable egg. Because the doctor chose to do so, this wasted the cost of an entire egg retrieval for me. She could have easily foregone the aspiration and not wasted it. Had I been awake and seen the ultrasound screen, I would've immediately asked her to forego the aspiration and try again for a follicle capable of producing an egg on another cycle. In fact, this had been done before for me on a previous cycle. As long as there is no follicular aspiration, the cycle is not counted. This doctor aspirated my EIGHT MILLIMETER follicle, so the retrieval counted. She came to the recovery bay and told me "I'm so sorry. You had already ovulated. I aspirated the follicles you had but both were less than 12mm." When I asked her why she chose to do so, she didn't have a good answer. She didn't have an answer at all, actually. I have a thorough understanding of IVF and I know it was very poor clinical judgment to make the decision to do so. She could have easily chosen not to do so. Other physicians at the practice even told me it was poor judgment to do so. When I started my next cycle it was notated in my chart that I was not to be seen or cared for by the physician who had done my retrieval. I never made this request in any way, shape, or form. Someone at the clinic had made this decision without even speaking to me about it. When I asked Spring to comp the wasted retrieval, they refused. Again - no one could tell me how it was justified to aspirate a 8mm follicle. I asked again. It was refused again. And a third time. This was heartbreaking for me. I trusted Spring to do what was best for me and understand how crucial each and every retrieval was for me - especially given my very, very poor prognosis. I am confident my primary doctor - or literally any other doctor at the practice - would not have aspirated the follicle. Spring would not have missed the cost of comping my wasted cycle. They do thousands of retrievals per year. I don't have a tech job with fancy IVF benefits. And I don't have $9,000 in expendable income for this. They chose not to comp it simply because they didn't want to, and that is what hurt me the most. And it hurt even more each time they refused. By refusing to comp the cycle, they essentially endorsed the decision to aspirate a 8mm follicle as sound clinical judgment. Choose wisely when you choose your practice. I truly felt like Spring was on my side and wanted what was best for me. The way this decision was handled made me question that. read more

Spring is wonderful! I did a ton of research and am so happy with my decision to freeze my eggs here. I have some ovarian cyst complications so I really wanted a doctor who would slow down and hear my concerns and make the right plan for me. That is Dr. Pasternak in a nutshell. She is warm and thoughtful while also being direct and decisive - qualities that make navigating the confusing fertility world a lot easier. In addition to Dr. Pasternak, the whole Spring team is awesome. You are assigned a dedicated coordinator, nurse and financial contact in addition to the on-site staff and lab team. I had several challenging moments (from difficult blood draws to a refrigerator issue that jeopardized my meds) and Spring was super caring and helpful every step of the way. I'm really pleased with my egg retrieval experience and results today, and I will definitely be working with Spring and Dr. Pasternak for my next cycle! read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Pasternak and her team. Dr. Pasternak was compassionate, thorough, and had great bedside manner. Her team was prompt with response to questions or concerns I had. Every individual has their own challenges with trying to conceive and Dr. Pasternak was able to pinpoint my issue and treat it. She promised me a family and she definitely kept her word. She helped my husband and I conceive our baby girl who is now 5 weeks old. read more

We went in for our initial appointment which was great - very informative. We were constantly asking about costs and about the whole process. They suggested we run some tests as a first step and so we agreed. Then the bills started to arrive. Effectively the clinic casually suggested we run $20k worth of tests that they say should only cost us $400 unless insurance covers it... so now we're stuck with Spring promising we will only pay $400, Natera sending us bills of $1k+ at a time, and our insurance denying $15k+ of claims. I made the "mistake" of paying one of the Natera bills and they now say it will take 3 months to get a refund.... I have no idea how this will end, but I can't imagine continuing along with this clinic. How is this not just flat out insurance fraud? We were very clear that this was an initial visit and we wanted to understand costs up front. If they didn't listen to us at this stage, when are they going to start? read more

I really, really wanted to be a patient of Spring Fertility's. In fact, I tried two different times 1.5+ years apart. Sadly, my experience aligns with previous people who have stared their experiences with Spring Fertility making a lot of assumptions and not using inclusive language for LGBT couples. I understand they must get to work with a lot of heterosexual couples but there has to be some recognition that families who come to them may look different than traditional male/female make up. In both really crappy instances, they made massive assumptions about my "husband," sent me paperwork to fill out (tens of pages) after 2 consultations that were completely oriented towards heterosexual couples despite me flagging many time our sensitivities around this (not to mention my wife attending our zoom consultation appts). And then today, the coordinator called and continued to refer to my partner as my husband until finally I couldn't let it slide anymore. Throughout the conversation, I gently tried to course correct her by referencing my partner over and over again (versus husband). And finally, I just told her that it was my second experience where they have blatantly used non-inclusive language or actions and that if they weren't going to listen to be in the upfront, there was no way that I could trust them to help me and listen to me as we navigate our fertility journey. It's really sad that it's 2021, we're in the Bay Area, we're talking about a fertility clinic that in theory sees all different family make ups, AND they are supposed to be (based on how they market themselves) a concierge-like, leading clinic and i STILL have to walk away feeling like I (and my family) don't belong. For prospects who's family looks different than mine, id really do my research and ask yourself if you really want to do business with a clinic that that's that kind of callous approach and who clearly struggle to listen to their potential patients. Best of luck -- but know there are some great clinics across the Bay Area that practice more inclusive, progressive behavior. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars just for the fact that they helped me conceive my first child 4 1/2 years ago with Dr. Klatsky. Fast forward 2 years, my husband and I decided to try for our second knowing that we would need fertility help again we reached out to spring in 2020 sometime in the middle of the pandemic to see how long we would need to wait to be seen to start trying again. After our consultation with him he said he would feel comfortable to start October of 2020 and to start. We did about 4 timed intercourse cycles before he told us that he is leaving the SF office and opening up the NY office and that Dr. Julia Kim would take over his patients. I did 2 more rounds under Dr. Kim with no results. So instead of suggesting IUI she suggested IVF. Which to me was odd because wouldn't you want to go through the steps before just jumping to IVF? No, because we had full fertility coverage she wanted to bank as much as we can. So, we headed in to our first cycle. Which was a rude awakening. We saw about 11-15 follicles on the screen which grew unevenly from the start. Which means that my body wasn't responding to the meds as they should. The day before egg retrieval they said they didn't have a semen analysis done for my partner. The nurse then asked about ucsf. I'm like uh we have never don't fertility treatments at ucsf. So i said sure yeah he did. So she noted that he did even tho he didn't. Fast forward to the egg retrieval, I was pretty nervous and had to do it alone because we had baby sitting issues. I have never been under anesthesia so I started to cry right before cause I was scared they made sure I was comforted before being put to sleep. I'm assuming procedure was quick cause the next thing I knew I was in the recovery room. This was where I was told they only were able to retrieve 9 eggs. The eggs were stored to freeze for fertilization on the next cycle. 2nd round of IvF also produced the same results. However, this time we were able to actually fertilize them. All of them fertilized however, none of them made it to blastocyst. So back to square one. Round 3 again produced the same number of eggs. 2 made it to blast which was ok I guess but we decided to do a transfer. Egg transfer # 1 failed. Back to the drawing board. Round 4 which happened to fall on my birthday I produced if I remember right 28 eggs which 14 were mature 14 fertilized and guess what NONE OF THEM MADE IT TO BLAST. So we decided to transfer our last and final embryo. Egg transfer # 2 essentially failed. I had positive pregnancy test up until beta day which ended up negative. During this time Dr. Kim NEVER changed my IVF protocol. Not once ever redid blood work to see if maybe something was wrong. She kept the same protocol and kept thinking that I was going to accept the results of never ending egg retrievals cause they were covered by my insurance. My explanation of benefits claimed over 200k in services rendered by Spring fertility which included IvF meds. This was also the time my husband and I decided to seek out a different fertility clinic. I waited to do this review because I wanted to see if I would produce the same results at our new clinic or if we would get better results. After our initial blood work the new RE told me that I had some issues with blood sugar and to go talk to my PCP. I was prescribed some meds lowered my blood sugar and headed into my 5th egg retrieval but round 1 with this new clinic. I produced 30 eggs. 24 were mature 16 fertilized and we have 9 blastocysts that have been biopsied, frozen and the sample has been sent off for PGT-A testing. At the end of the day, I feel like spring failed me as a paient. They failed to make sure my IvF blood work was good before heading into it. They were more concerned with pocketing the money instead of actually caring for the need of their patients. They made it uncomfortably painful to come to the office because they don't allow children in the waiting room because it can trigger some people but where are the accommodations for people who have children? Like every single time I have to come in for blood work or monitoring I would need to have my husband take time away from his day to watch our toddler so I could be in the office for 15-20 mins at a time. Towards the end of your IvF monitoring cycle you are literally coming in to the office consecutively one day after the other before told that you need to trigger if you don't have anyone to watch your kids that can be very difficult to get into your appointments. read more

I came to Spring Fertility for a consultation about egg freezing / fertility preservation. I chose Spring because it was recommended by a friend, highly rated on Yelp, and their reputation as "Started by former UCSF Doctors." I chose Dr. Tran (he seemed to have the least amount of negative reviews on Yelp). It's taken me 2 weeks to gain my composure to share this review. My experience with Dr. Tran at Spring was nothing short of traumatic. It's resulted in countless tears, days missed of work, and turned into anger/depression. I am sharing my experience so that other women do not have to go through what I did, specifically people with sensitivity or trauma history. After 5-10 minute consultation where he rattled off statistics (not surprised by this after reading his other reviews), it was time for the transvaginal ultrasound. He awkwardly asked me, "What do you do for a living?" and then without explaining or asking if I was ready, he rapidly inserted the ultrasound wand up inside of me (it's quite a long wand). My body completely froze, and as soon as it was over, I started uncontrollably sobbing. My mind hadn't processed it, but my body encoded this as very traumatic. After 10 minutes of sobbing in the office, I summoned the courage to confront Dr. Tran and tell him what the experience was like for me. I've gone through numerous gynecological procedures, and never in my life has anything been inserted inside of me so rapidly. It felt that he was completely oblivious to me as a patient; he was only focusing on getting the image he wanted and had complete disregard for me as a human. My body perceived the rapid speed as violating. I do not believe Dr. Tran had malintent in this. He said he tries to insert quickly so it's not in the body too long. I understand that it may be "routine" to do it quickly, but I would have liked a warning. What I would have liked to see happen, is for the doctor to say: "Have you ever had an ultrasound before? This is the wand, and it will be inserted quickly inside to take images. You may feel some pressure. Are you ready?" This is the standard procedure of informed consent that I have been accustomed to in other clinics. Since professionals have no idea about a patient's trauma history, it's their duty to be sensitive and aware. For all the marketing talk that this is an "empowering decision for a woman to make," I left feeling anything but empowered. Since the visit, I have cried for countless hours, lost days of work, and completely abandoned any plans to EVER step in a fertility clinic again. I am a strong, mentally resilient person, and this experience has shaken me to the core. It's going to take a while to work through this. After sending them a formal letter of complaint and having a call with one of their NP's, I have not heard a word of acknowledgment or apology from Dr. Tran. I had to email the clinic multiple times to even get a copy of my ultrasound report which was supposed to have been uploaded to my patient portal after the visit. [Edit: they uploaded it after I asked multiple times] If you are looking for fertility services, I highly recommend getting a PERSONAL REFERRAL and working with a nurse practitioner if you are concerned about being treated with sensitivity (They are trained in treating a patient as a human, whereas many doctors are unfortunately not). ASK AROUND to people you know, about who they worked with. My problem could have been avoided, had I talked more to people in my community about their own experience. Their surgery was great However, I didn't have success . Dr. Tran is just your matter of fact doctor. Doesn't really think outside of the box for someone with endometriosis. I flew to SF from so cal but zero healthy embryos. I understand Dr. Tran wanted to give me hope by freezing my poorly graded day 3 embryos but why bother transferring if they have not had any clinical /patient history of live birth ? I visited Spring Fertility the day after Christmas in 2017 with my then-boyfriend (now husband) Jake for a consultation due to my low AMH levels. My experience was traumatizing and spiraled me into a dark depression for months and to this day gives me severe body image issues. I saw Dr. Klatsky who confirmed my unexplained fertility after an ultrasound. In addition to shoving statistics in my face after the already devastating news, he insisted I was just fat and needed to lose weight and that I didn't in fact have PCOS. He mocked me for drinking a can of soda that I got in his own lobby (due to its sugar contents) and then ushered me into another room where a nurse gave us a 5 page paper for IVF treatments (we articulated we didn't have the money for IVF and would like to try IUI first) and consent forms before we were even ready to continue with procedures. Please work on your bedside manners and understand that women going through fertility issues, especially at such a young age (I was 24 at the time), are already struggling emotionally. Insulting my weight was unnecessary and I do not recommend this clinic to any of my friends or family in the area because of this experience. After moving home to Ohio to try to start our family, we saw another fertility specialist who properly diagnosed my PCOS and encouraged us to try IUI prior to jumping into IVF right away. We ended up getting pregnant with our miracle baby naturally the week we were supposed to start treatments. While my story has a happy ending, many do not. I hope this place has changed since my visit but wanted to provide an honest review (I was reminded when I received a recent email that I hadn't sent one in). I had a positive egg freezing experience at Spring and specifically with Dr. Zore and her team. Dr. Zore was very patient with me and answered any questions I had between my first consultation with her to each monitoring appointment to our post-procedure phone call. Everyone I communicated with was kind and thoughtful (though I will agree with other reviews that it can take a while to have receipts/payment confirmations uploaded to their portal - if you are working with a family planning benefit provider, it is helpful to request in writing that the document be uploaded as soon as possible to the portal, to delay any reimbursement/payment by your benefit provider). Monitoring appointments typically took less than 20 minutes but I never felt rushed through them. I'll likely require another 1-2 cycles and was upfront with the clinic about the financial burden back-to-back cycles would mean. Dr. Zore heard my concerns and talked me through my options, and gave tangible next steps for if/when I'm ready for my next cycle to take place. I'll definitely return to Spring and hope to maintain Dr. Zore as my practitioner. :) read more

I just wrapped up an egg freezing cycle at Spring Fertility, and I came away so happy with my experience with Spring, my provider (Dr. Kim) and the broader team of medical assistants, phlebotomists, and care coordinators. I only had a specific time period when I could undergo a cycle, and Spring quickly fit me in for a consultation and scheduled me for my cycle. They were highly communicative, promptly sending emails and giving me a phone call after every appointment to update me on my results and provide instructions for medications. Worst fertility clinic. Dr. Tran made me feel hopeless after multiple rounds of IVF and told me that I had idiopathic ovarian aging?!?! I am 31 years old with a normal AMH . I spent over $85000 at Spring Fertility and got nothing ! Who knew that they were backed by a growth equity investment firm known as Wildcat Capital Management, and I was merely a number as part of a fast growing revenue hungry IVF clinic.!!! There was no customization of my treatment plan at all and it was just one cycle after another and keep paying . There was no care towards my babies and my feelings and my next generation . Out of desperation, I ended up seeing a different IVF doctor and got 3 healthy embryos on the first attempt without having to use growth hormone. My experience with Spring exceeded all my expectations. I went to them for egg freezing. The reception team was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The doctor and nurses explained everything, had great beside demeanors, and put me at ease for all of my procedures. The rest of the team was SO helpful! They called to follow up after every visit, confirm medications, and ensure I knew exactly what I needed to do to make the process successful. The day of the surgery was wonderful. I experienced 5 IUI's, one miscarriage, 5 egg retrievals, and 3 transfers at Spring from 2017-2020. No baby, just a divorce to show for it. But I don't completely blame Spring for my lack of success. I do hold them partially responsible for the years of trauma I have experienced as a result of my infertility experience. I wanted to like and believe in Dr. Tran. When my third transfer failed, he never called me. We never spoke again, after over 3 years of failed treatments. I thought he cared about me and my case. He didn't. Spring was understaffed and extremely disorganized for the majority of my time there. I can't even count how many errors, small and huge, were made on my case. I can't help but wonder if Spring's errors contributed to my lack of success. The one star is for a few extremely sweet nurses I worked with in my time there. Many women experience infertility related trauma, I know I'm not alone. You just hope that your clinic and your doctor are not one of the primary causes of that trauma. read more

I've been treated at Spring Fertility for the past 9 months, and have nothing but the best things to say about my experience. My husband and I ended up here after a diagnosis of unexplained infertility. I met Dr. Pasternak in February and one month later I was already doing my first cycle. Unfortunately, the results on our first two cycles were disappointing, so we went on to do two more, with much better results, leading to a recent, hopefully successful transfer. The service at Spring is top notch. I've never received care like this - from the patient portal to the ongoing communication from my care team to the experience in the clinic, I always felt taken care of and as though an answer was one email or call away. Dr. Pasternak has her own care team, so I worked primarily with her, Markie, and then Crystal and Dana - all lovely individuals. I can genuinely say I will miss seeing Dr. Pasternak and speaking with the team so often. If you have a choice of doctor, I can't say enough about Dr. Pasternak - she is warm and conversational, but matter of fact and undeniably great at her job. She worked to figure out the right protocol and timing every time, and her team was so helpful in working out ideal timing for all cycles and procedures. Beyond this team, the receptionists, medical assistants, and phlebotomists are stellar (huge shoutout to Abby who plays music and chats so you don't even realize you're getting blood taken). IVF is a stressful situation with a lot of unknowns. Taking this on during a pandemic added a layer of anxiety on top of that. But even in such a trying situation, I wouldn't change a thing and I have the team at Spring to thank for that! read more

Being 40 when we began and having a background in cell and molecular biology and IVF technologies, I looked quite carefully into IVF clinics but found it difficult to trust the published numbers. The IVF field is not standardized and all clinics are not equal in medicine or laboratory technique. Additionally, as we learned with our first clinic, some places will not go further than their approved protocols to help couples achieve their fertility goals. After a few cycles, our original clinic refused to try any other interventions and pushed us toward donor eggs. Not willing to give up on having our own child, my husband and I decided to switch to another clinic. We needed a clinic and reproductive endocrinologist (RE) that would go above and beyond standard protocols and work with us to determine the correct course to parenthood for us. After meeting with a few other clinics, we decided to put all of my eggs (hahahaha!) in the Spring basket with Dr. Tran. Dr. Tran respected my unending questions and was also patient when I challenged him regarding his recommended path. He was open to discussions with me and worked with me to help me not only understand his position but also to agree upon next steps in a timely manner. Yes, Dr. Tran is quirky. However, we both respected his candor and honest communication style. Dr. Tran also matched me with Nanette, who would be my main contact at Spring. I cannot say more positive things about Nanette. She not only guided me through the rigorous and ever-changing protocols so that Dr. Tran could zero in on the best protocol for me, she was able to do all this with compassion and humor. I felt I could reach out to her anytime and she would either answer my questions, find out answers or calm my fears. Nanette was the perfect nurse and guide for me through the process. Lastly, I have to recommend the entire Spring team. I'm not going to name everyone because I don't want to miss anyone! From the front desk to all the nurses and laboratory staff, I have felt their support through this entire process. Their support meant so much to me when things did not go well and their caring kindness really helped keep me calm during the process. Spring also has an amazing lab. I am a lab nerd and get happy every time I see their lab. Because of this, we quickly built a strong trust in Dr. Tran and our Spring team that led us to a successful graduation from Spring. We are now 23 weeks pregnant. We cannot tell you how grateful we are to Dr. Tran and the entire Spring team. Yes, there will be wrinkles along the way. The IVF process is complicated and communication can be difficult but it was all worth it for us. I highly encourage you to contact Spring and meet them. They were the perfect fit for us. read more

I want others to know that Dr. Tran is not the doctor you want to see. He is extremely agitated, aggressive, and will treat you as less than. Like many others who saw Dr. Tran, I wish I had taken their reviews seriously. My husband and I visited their office for a consultation with Dr. Tran. My husband did a lot of research and after reading great reviews, we decided to book an appointment. My treatment with Dr. Tran is concerning as a patient and for other patients. Dr. Tran was extremely unprofessional, impatient and angry. He never asked us what our expectations were, couldn't provide a plan of action and towards the last 15mins essentially ignored us. No eye contact and a lot of vague "uh huh, ok". He definitely didn't want to take on our case, dismissed our concerns, didn't care about my health history and did not want to answer our questions. We've talked to other doctors and never experienced such service before. I felt unsafe, bullied and dismissed. I'm not sure why Dr. Tran was so angry - we did not do anything to merit such behavior. We came in with valid concerns of trying to have a child after multiple failed attempts. I don't appreciate his idea of "treatment" - multiple times he used foul language, unfriendly tones and the inability to be a decent person. In that hour, he was supposed to be my doctor and do no harm. But that was the opposite. As I left the office, I went into a panic attack. The nurses next door had to attend to me. Even after being confronted, they did nothing but quickly offer me a refund. No apologizes. He will go on weird rants, complain about politics, and make it uncomfortable for you and your partner. I reached out to Spring several times, even on their social media and just got ignored. For your ivf journey - find a doctor to support you. Not cuss you out. read more

I am so grateful to Dr. Klatsky and his care team. My wife and I had a great experience using co-maternity IVF to have our son. Dr. Klatsky and his team were kind, responsive, LGBTQ+ inclusive and they tailored all of their support to meet our specific needs. We had our son during the pandemic, and I am in particular really grateful for all the advice and consultation we received as we navigated the anxieties associated with my pregnancy during the early days of the pandemic. Dealing with infertility is incredibly personal, and is so emotionally challenging - as such I have chosen to submit this review under an alias. This review is for Dr. Tran only. I had been going to UCSF for over a year for fertility treatments, and it was suggested by a friend, whom also goes to Spring and loves Dr. Tran, to get a second opinion there since Spring is 'supposed to be the best in SF'. I made my consultation appointment, which cost $450 out of pocket, and my husband and I had a video call with Dr. Tran for about 30 mins. Throughout the call, I really got the sense that Dr. Tran did not want my business and he was really pushing that I should either stick with UCSF or go to where I froze my eggs (a clinic in NY). I got the sense he saw me as a lost cause, and my assumption is that he does not want IVF failures on his record. When I told him I had been taking many supplements to help boost egg quality, he basically laughed at me and said that those don't work and he doesn't let those sales reps into his office. I honestly left the call in a very emotionally fragile state which took me about a month to get over. There are ways he could have gotten that same message across that didn't make me feel like a stupid, dried up old hag (I was 39 at the time). Oh and to add to the insensitivity, he referred to the miscarriage that I had at 8 weeks pregnant last fall as a 'chemical pregnancy' and basically shrugged it off as insignificant. I understand he doesn't beat around the bush and 'tells it like it is', which perhaps for some people is a welcomed approach. But as I mentioned in the beginning of this review, infertility is already such an emotional rollercoaster that I really did not need this added to that already high burden. I will continue to go to UCSF seeing Dr. Jaswa who has incredible bedside manner. read more

There is so much to say about our experience with Spring Fertility. My husband and I tried for three years before we decided to finally see a fertility specialist. We LOVE everyone at Spring Fertility! Dr Klatsky and Helen helped us with every step. Our treatment started in the summer of 2016 with 5 cycles of unsuccessful IUIs. In December 2016, we started the IVF cycle. Dr Klatsky made the decision to transfer 3 embryos because he wanted to give us a greater chance of getting pregnant. If we ended up with triplets, we planned to work out a babysitting schedule with Dr Klatsky . My review is simple: Spring Fertility blessed us with a beautiful baby boy who is now 4 months old.
