Even though she was new to the system and needed a bit of assistance, her pleasant demeanor made the visit very welcoming. At the front, Allison, the cashier, was also wonderful. One of the reasons I enjoy shopping at CVS is because of the great coupons and savings, and Allison went out of her way to help me maximize them. She took the time to ensure I got the best deal possible--and did it all with a smile.

Some items might be a bit more than normally priced but it's a convenience store so it saves you a trip somewhere else.

Then came the "upgrade," which closed this place for months. The "upgrade" made the market's standard purchases controlled by "AI." My God, how can a *university* campus that should know something about AI allow this to happen? Couldn't they tell that an AI-driven purchase system would be as faulty as all those self-driving cars that killed the people driving them? Didn't they know the difference between ANI (Artificial Narrow Intelligence) and AGI (Artificial General Intelligence)? Evidently not. With reluctance I began making purchases there again, after they reopened, but with trepidation since there were no paper receipts (Remember: "Paperless" is an improvement, right?! Uh, remember the "paperless office" fiasco of the 1980s?) so I couldn't tell if I were being overcharged or not. Finally I got so nervous about the whole scheme that I began taking the time out to type my e-mail address into their computer before I left, thereby negating the supposed time savings that an "AI" (actually ANI) system was supposed to provide. The first mistake I found was in my favor: I had bought two of the same item, and it had assumed I had bought only one. The second mistake I found was much worse: I had been overcharged $14 for some foods of a type that I never buy. I contacted the appropriate people and received a $14 refund, but this took weeks of watching my bank activity at a significant loss of time. Therefore that was the last time I ever tried to buy anything at Roger's Market: the stress and lost time was not worth it. I see that Sunshine Market in the Price Center has also switched over to ANI--I mean "AI"--so I refuse to buy anything there anymore, either. I also noticed that a few months after my overcharge that a number of Roger's Market employees began to be posted outside of the turnstile, where they continuously watched customers exiting with purchases. That tells me that their system has some kind of glitch that students discovered that allows purchases to be taken out without being charged. More time and money lost by requiring employees to supervise the supposedly smart "AI." The moral: "AI" is not there yet; talk to some professors who are experts in a technology before you rely on a system that uses that technology, lest you find out you actually ruined your working system, not improved it.

The special St. Patrick's Day treat was more sugar than I could handle. Tasted like I was eating a crunchy marshmallow. There ratio of marshmallow was too high for me to taste the rice krispy. The rice krispy treats at Whole Foods just need a little more marshmallow and they would be perfect for me. This treat I was only able to eat half of. *sigh My search for the perfect rice krispy treat goes on. This establishment is nice and fancy looking and the staff was very friendly. I am very impressed by how this place has seasonal treat offerings. Update 4/2/2015 I couldn't resist the cute pink bunny cookie with the brown whiskers. Mmm... The pink sugar crystals taste as good as they look. The rocky texture tantalized my tongue as I bite into the the flaky cookie. This is a very delicious sugar cookie. :-) A timely addition to the pastry case as Easter is 3 days away. :-) Apple tart. I really love a good apple pie where you have a combination of crust, apple, and apple juices. This is packed with mostly apples and a delicious crunchy, flaky crust. A bit too much apple for me...
