I've had an overall terrible experience with the UCSD Box Office. Last year, I bought discounted tickets online for my sister and friends to go to the zoo over the weekend, believing I could print them out online. Unfortunately, I could only pick them up from the office itself, which is not open on weekends, and so I was stuck with 4 tickets to the zoo which I had to find a way to use.
A couple months later, the tickets' expiration date passed, and I went to the office to switch them out for ones that weren't expired. Luckily they were nice enough to help me out, but because I've always been busy with school, I still never had the opportunity to use them.
I went back in June to replace them again, and they said they'd take my tickets and check to see that they were not used with the zoo, and that I could come back in September to claim them. Unfortunately, when I came back to school in the fall, I found out the box office had been placed under new management, who had no record of my tickets. Even with my photocopied tickets and a note from the previous manager, they refused to give me my tickets because it was against "policy" to "exchange" tickets, even with this ridiculous expiration date, and thus, I was at a loss of $150.
So now they've run away with my tickets and I have no way of "proving" that I still have not used them, or that the previous management gave the "ok" to replace them. I suppose this is what happens when facilities undergo new management, but these guys must have done it in the most destructive way possible.
Unless you plan on using tickets within a week or so, DO NOT BUY FROM HERE, it will only cause you havoc when you find out the expiration date has passed and that you cannot claim what you have rightfully paid for. read more
