A lot of theatres use "buttery toppings" that don't have dairy, but most employees can't be bothered when asked if there is any dairy/milk product in them. Here however, Landon kindly pulled out the ingredients which set me at ease! Some of the DBOX seats were in bad shape with large rips and cracked padding. Fortunately, ours were okay. Since the specialty seats were about the same price ($25) as basic reclining seating in most theatres today, I will definitely be watching the next movie here using DBOX seating!

When we got our tickets scanned, the greeter was very cheerful and was helpful on guiding us to the correct theater. We watched the new horror film called, "The Mummy"...we enjoyed it. We didn't order nothing since we had a big dinner before attending, but the smell of the popcorn was very tempting. If you haven't tried the Club Rocker seats, you should. With the push of a button, someone comes to take your order -- food, drinks, whatever you want. Yes, it's pricier than a standard theater, but the experience feels special. The theater itself is clean, small, and elevated compared to a typical movie theater. Each seat has its own little lamp and a swivel table for your snacks or dinner, which makes the whole setup feel boutique and cozy. I haven't tried the outdoor bar, restaurant, or café yet, but I love that they offer all of that in one place. This is the perfect spot for movies that deserve surround sound, a big screen, and a shared audience to laugh or cry with. And a tip: if you join their free rewards program, you can snag discounted tickets -- a great mid‑week treat. I can't give a positive review of The Lot movie theater in Point Loma. As of May 22, 2026, an issue…read morethat began on April 9 had not been properly handled until I followed up to push for a resolution. On April 9, I attempted to purchase movie tickets through The Lot's website. The website gave me an error message stating that my card was not charged and instructed me to go back and try again. I attempted to purchase a second time and received the exact same error. At that point, I decided not to risk compromising my card further and purchased tickets through AMC instead. Later that same day, I noticed a pending transaction from The Lot. A few hours later, the $46 charge was officially posted to my card, despite never receiving tickets or confirmation. I immediately called The Lot and left a voicemail explaining the situation. No response. A week later, I left another message and sent an email. No response. Another week passed, and I again left a message and sent another email. Still no response. Eventually, I drove to The Lot in Point Loma to speak with someone in person. The manager told me to email support, even though I had already done so multiple times. I showed him the charge on my card. He attempted to look it up in the system, but my card information was not showing there. I went back home, emailed support again, attached proof of the charge, and CC'd the manager directly. Again, no response. By the end of April, I called the manager once more and explained that I had emailed everyone, including him, and still had no resolution. He assured me he would take care of it. Two more weeks passed with no communication. Finally, on May 22, I returned to The Lot again and spoke to the same manager, who told me there was nothing he could do and that I needed to email support again. At that point, I asked him to get support on the phone immediately. About 10 minutes later, someone from support finally called me back. During the call, the representative claimed he had emailed me on April 25. I checked every folder in my email, and the only email I received that day was the automated confirmation saying they had received my message. While I was explaining my experience, he repeatedly interrupted me, asking if I wanted his help. In the end, the issue was finally resolved, but it took over a month and a half to recover $46. It required 4 phone calls, 6 emails, and two 25-mile trips to The Lot before I finally received my refund. I can now understand why this location has a 3-star rating. The lack of communication, accountability, and customer service throughout this process was extremely disappointing.

San Diego back in the 1900 and the 1920s was rich in the many areas of creating and the many movies that were coming out of Hollywood would be showed to certain cities many theaters which had those years had the great welcome to the areas of the first silent movies. The History of the Guild Theater has so many years to it. The Hillcrest theater was built in 1913 as a silent picture house and the first theater for San Diego of the Hillcrest Area though small in small in size it also has a balcony. It was built in Distinctive Spanish with the form of the front and the bell that has been there for many years the apex has supported the bell for many years as so many have driven past the theater up 5th Avenue. For some reason it had closed down in 1917 and than the theater was reopened back in the year of 1930 by the fox chain of theaters here in San Diego. One of the greatest cult movies that was shown at the Guild was at the Rocky Horror Picture Show Sadly in the year 1997 the theater was closed the same Historic Park Theater was closed just blocks away the interior was changed and the many businesses that had taken over the front area the many great pieces of history are closed with the locations you may see in the Hillcrest and those that are in the North Park area. With the many historical places you may see some that have been here since the 1970s that have such great history with the many cities so many get torn down. Being a Yelp Elite Reviewer the many places to find are some of the bests being a per5sont that has grown up since 1969 for the many seasons and the historical places the many foods and the historical times which have made San Diego the one place the Military and the Top Gun School made the City Famous. I have seen this movie like zillion times, yet never in such a setting. Not too many chairs, perfect amount of people. Coincidentally re-encountering with long time not seen friends and colleagues gave a vibe of 'neighborhood' even if I don't live in Little Italy. The speakers introducing the movie did a great job in engaging the audience. I not only enjoyed the company, the film itself and the summer night, but also the sense of community there. Only $5. Apparently there's been a big renovation I wasn't aware of which included amazing new reclining seats (which didn't require being assigned which is usually annoying in my opinion.) they also have a great mix of healthy and high-end treats at the concession stand for pretty much the same price as any other theater charges for crappy low-end candies and snacks. Also enjoyed the amusing guy who introduced the movie, A popular new trend that I think Arclight started. Anyway, if you haven't been here in a while I recommend you come back and support this awesome Landmark theater. We don't want to lose a place like this is not the same as all the other typical AMCs etc. out there.
