Judging by the reviews of this place, it seems like a typical UCLA FACILITY THAT HAS MEDIOCRE to horrible treatment of patients but for todays visit for an MRI, I must have been very lucky. All three staff Members I encountered were very accommodating and as sweet as pie to Me! It was a horrible morning as I was in so much pain and could not move and to add insult to injury jury, my Lyft driver was late! There was so much stress just to coordinate the ride over to ucla and I was worried because UCLA is very strict for us to arrive early but the doctors are allowed to be very late for us, Ironically. Ivan was so sweet and followed up with two phone calls because I was taken To the wrong facility so I was walking all over the place. Even though I was understandably late, Ivan said that Alexis the technician will still take me for the procedure. They both put me at ease and made the experience still very positive and calm/collective. The assistant was very nice too and took me back to the technician. The technician provided a ball to squeeze since I was going in head first and made me feel at so much peace that I was not even claustrophobic anymore! She even gave me some aromatic scents too to smell while in the MRI chamber. With UCLA, you can also wind up with bad employees too so this experience was fantastic. -1000 stars. UCLA radiology has got to be the worst place in the universe of healthcare. I tried calling them a few times and they never answer the phone they give you the option of a callback. I've use that option and they do call back but going through the process is painful and tedious. Especially when you're getting a CAT scan a couple of times after completing the questionnaire, which is questions, I was disconnected and the person on the other line didn't call me back. Of course when you called the number back, you just go back to the call center. Why to get an appointment is an impossibility? Of course UCLA doctors want to keep everything within UCLA - they say it makes it easier for the doctors because of the epic system with the UCLA my chart that is HIPAA compliant, however, I beg to differ, I used to fall for that spiel, but I really think it's just to make more money for UCLA. The Behemouth said it's come to be. all of the hurdles and jumps you have to go through and the wait times are not worth making an appointment at this place and then to top it off once we had the CAT scan, it didn't show up in the MyChart for a week, even though it was posted as being urgent. I would've been better off going to the ER. Now I know why all the ERs are so crowded. The lack of care and patient safety and regard for the patient's health is lacking here grow grossly. my advice is to go to an imaging place outside of UCLA. Have the doctors order fax it to a privately owned imaging company and it will be much smoother sailing and it'll make your life less stressful. I'm not coming back here. read more

I am right now on the phone and have been for over an hour, i have been transferred twice, I could hear kids in the background (unprofessional), I finally asked to speak with a manager and I am still waiting and now very frustrated. How hard is it to schedule an appointment? Why do they keep lying to me saying it will just be a minute when they put me on hold for 10 -15 minutes to do... what and why does it take so long? I do not understand because when they come back it sounds like they are filling the form out in real time and yet I still do not have an appointment. So frustrated. So unprofessional. read more

This location is a hidden gem!!!! It's clean, updated & beautiful. The staff is so welcoming and attentive. I feel horrible for forgetting the techs name. The young lady who assisted in taking my xrays was very professional and so sweet. Walk in for X-rays and appointments for all else. read more

I was able to get an expedited appointment for an MRI at this facility. Parking was easy (validated!). When I walked into the reception area it was full of patients (a good sign). I was greeted immediately and asked to complete some forms. The staff member was very polite. The waiting area was bright, clean and comfortable. I was taken to the changing room pretty quickly and when I was ready escorted to the MRI room. My tech, Leo, was friendly and patient. He made sure I was comfortable with a blanket and gave me earplugs. The test lasted about 25 minutes and halfway though he let me know there were "about 12 minutes left." Very comforting. When I was done he walked me back to the changing room. I got my parking ticket validated at the front desk (all staff were super polite and friendly) and I was in and out in less than an hour. I hope I can give negative stars. It took 48 hours from my doctor's order to the appointment system.

DO NOT GO TO UCLA RADIOLOGY or any other UCLA facility unless they tell you in advance that you will not be billed their spurious "hospital fee." Some facilities charge this and some don't and they will not volunteer this information when they help you make an appointment at one of their facilities. Don't throw away your money. If they book you into a facility that has a "fee" and they don't tell you, they will not refund it. UCLA billing sucks big time. They will screw up every single bill at every single UCLA facility every single time. Probably on purpose. read more

Surprisingly easy and quick radiology experience I've had. This was a pleasant surprise as parking was easy to find in their lot despite construction. The front office person was very friendly, helpful and just plain happy. Hard to find nowadays. The tech who assisted me in the process was very nice and explained what she was doing for imaging. She had another person assist when needing to re-image to confirm a good picture (glad for this as this means not having a radiologist guess or having to come back). It might've been that I came at a good time, but it was nice and quiet. read more

This is a lovely medical office with lots of attention to detail throughout. The staff was very friendly, they are open Saturdays and they validate your parking. Get out! No really they do validate. The best part for me is my fear of the dreadful tube they call the MRI. Their machine, although closed, was noticeably larger so I did not freak out. I was medicated but it was still not as scary as the 2 MRI's I've been in before. Plus you can bring your iPod and listen to your own music while getting your scan. Oh, and complimentary bottled water - Me likey! In the event I have to get another test, going to this facility will definitely be less stressful. read more

Nope. I scheduled a procedure weeks ago and made sure everything was in order. I called today to make sure that everything was in order for the procedure tomorrow. I was informed that tomorrow was going to be a consultation, which is UCLA health speak for bill your insurance more money. Normally, I would take responsibility for this error, but I did receive a confirmation phone call explaining that I was scheduled for the procedure and what I needed to do to prepare; including fasting. If they can't get it together for the type of appointment, they have no business doing the procedure. read more

Ucla is going down. They do not have a good Patiant relation service. They treat patients like bunch of sheep. Doctors are over worked and tired of seeing patients! What a tragedy to know that when you are in your doctors office you are nothing but a number to them. read more

Wow! This is probably the best experience I have ever had with any radiology center ever (and I've been to my share of them... Probably at least a dozen to date). I checked in and waited to be called in. I was really early as there was no traffic somehow. First cool thing, the hospital gowns aren't open in the back! There's a third arm hole that you loop back around onto your arm to completely close the gown. YES! Why is this the first time I've seen this!? Second cool thing, the doc giving me the injection and the woman assisting were both women. Being this was an injection into my hip, it was greatly appreciated. While I don't make a big deal of male doctors so close to my bits, it was very nice to just have two women. The injection was probably one of the most painless and comfortable I've had (and I've had about a half dozen others prior). It was so fast, it seemed like she'd just started when it was already over. Phew! Third cool thing, while I was waiting the 10 minutes or so for the MRI, I was given a spot in the recovery room, a warm blanket, and a magazine. Simply delicious. Fourth cool thing, I got a nice warm blanket during my MRI as well. Fantastic. Fifth cool thing, all of the staff was amazing. They were all professional, nice, and ready to answer any questions I had. Sixth cool thing, PARKING IS VALIDATED. No, really. You don't have to pay for parking. I didn't know that was possible in Santa Monica! Especially being I had to pay like $12 across the street for like half an hour last time I went there. Beautiful. TERRIBLE PLACE. Staff is rude and slow and they delayed my appointment by half hour and then made me wait for an hour just to get my film. The tech messed up the MRI in the guy before me so not even sure the machines are safe. Go to private radiology group in Westwood much more professional. read more

If I can give this place zero stars I would. Worst customer service ever! I was never told that this office does not offer anesthesia or sedatives for people with claustrophobia, but I was told to bring someone to drive me. So I brought my cousin which she had to take the day off and only to find out that I couldn't go through with it, with out the sedatives because I'm claustrophobic. Angela the office manager apologized for the misunderstanding and promised to send me a gift card by mail for the inconvenience. Never receive the gift card. So I was reschedule and when my doctor received the results of my BRAIN MRI, she and I quote "Not the best images" end quote. Please do not waste your time there are many other places to go to,I just thought"hey it's UCLA they must be good" WRONG! read more

Beautiful facility. But sadly, amateur newby technicians... Never, before here, has my arm been explored with the needle so many times before finding a vein (4x). Also, take good care... such a simple fix, but insufficient ear protection was provided for my MRI here... I fear damage was done, my ears have been ringing for weeks. read more

I was in and out for a pre op chest X-ray in 10 minutes.... It doesn't get better than that

I called this morning to schedule an appointment with them. Quick pick up, no hold, but shortly after, I found myself being rushed by a RUDE receptionist named PATRICIA. She was not only unpleasant to talk to, but also was making rude ethnic comment while asking me to spell out my name for her (Direct quote from her: " I don't speak Chinese, so you will have to spell the name out for me"). As a little side note, I am not even Chinese. Besides, where did she get the idea that she has to "speak" Chinese or any foreign language for that matter to know how to "spell" (ask to spell rather) an English alphabetized name? Not only that, she was very lazy enough to not speak in her full sentences with very weak voice to even give a clue to know whether she was talking to me or to someone next to her? (e.g. instead of simply saying "Here is your medical record number for your future reference", she ONLY said "your medical record number" and started blurting out the number with very reluctant tone, and when I asked to repeat the number again, she then raised her voice to the point it was discomforting my ear through the phone) and putting these poor/rude communication issues aside, when i asked for what are the availability for appointments in the morning time during this WEEK in all of the locations to try to find a time out of my busy schedule, she then only gave me "ONE" availability of "One" day and when i asked her if that is the only availability, she then went on and gave me the next availability on the same day with her total reluctant attitude for helping to find a good time to come in. Thinking back again about this incident, I totally get that asking for a whole week of availability of the whole morning in the entire location was too much... i get it, but it still doesn't justify her rudeness towards other patients (especially the racial comment part) who are simply trying to schedule an appointment with them. I am not really sure why any PATIENT (especially as a new patient to this place) who is stressed enough about their conditions already would deserve these kind of attitudes/behavior back from a receptionist for merely trying to schedule an ultrasound appointment. As far as the experience of the actual place, I haven't been there yet. I will definitely update my review as soon as I am done with my visit, just so I can get more of a full picture of this place. As for now, avoid this receptionist like a plague if you want to save yourself from elevating blood pressure trying to "deal" with her. Just simply hang up and talk to other reps who wont treat you like a total crap. Waiting time on the phone for this place is almost non-existent anyway. Other reps on the phone were much nicer and friendlier as if it were the night and day difference compared to this problematic one. p.s: I really hope they live up to their words and monitor their calls as they clearly stated at the beginning of each phone call. read more
