TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH. Called today to have my phone repaired. Spoke to someone name Cameron and was told that the repair would be $300+tax for the screen and back plate of a Note10+. I remember the back plate was mentioned because I was asked what color it was. They told me they only had one screen left and that they are a Samsung authorized dealer and all that jazz. Had my wife bring my phone in just to receive a sales pitch about Asurion which is a Home tech and protection service at $25 a month from a David T. I was told the repair would actually be $400+ because they have to charge for the back plate and a new battery. However if we decided to get their warranty service of $25 a month they would do the repair at $385+tax. I told them that was fine as long as the phone would be repaired for that price. Come to find out. They won't repair the phone without the passcode, alternatively they can perform a factory reset which is the whole point of getting the phone fixed and not buying a new one. They charged for the Asurion, and when my wife said that they won't be fixing the phone they said they can not reverse the $25 a month transaction. What a load of you know what. Take your phone to Re-Konekt. That's where my device is now and not sure why I even wasted my time with this place. Update: My wife call the same day to cancel the Asurion service which we did not need. Cameron told her that we are not allowed to cancel until 1/13/2021, and that we would not be able to get the $25 refunded. 1/13 is a WHOLE month later. Cameron provided a toll free number that went to TRANE whom is a AC company. We got the Asurion number ourselves and contacted them and sure enough they were not only able to cancel, they also refunded us because we literally activated the service the same day. read more

Scam and ripoff. They will give you poor quality replacement screen. Then when it breaks a few days later they will have you believe it's your fault and you need to pay for another new screen. I just left the store after bringing my Google Pixel 3 to get inspected. I thought something was wrong with the charging port because my charger was not working correctly. The gentleman at the front took my phone and did a cleaning of the charging port and said there was a little bit of debris. He was very kind and didn't charge me for the cleaning. I highly recommend this place. He saved me about $100! I'm so happy! And I got back in the car and my charging port is working fine now! Thank you so much! read more

Finally updating my review because I'm convinced the situation is resolved in its entirety now. After my initial review, the situation with my phone continued until March 5th, nearly 4 weeks from my initial visit to the store on February 8th. I'll be posting a picture with the complete timeline for anyone interested. Background info: my phone was a 128gb iPhone XR that was originally on the sprint network, but was unlocked to AT&T a year before when I switched services. The condensed version of the story: The night of my initial screen repair, I noticed my Face ID camera no longer was functioning. When I returned to the store for the 1st of 5 visits, not including my initial repair, I was told they didn't damage the phone & that the problem might be software related; I was told to factory restore my phone & see if the issue was resolved. That night, I did what was recommended & it cause my phone to be locked back into the sprint network; I lost all cellular capabilities on the device because I have an AT&T SIM card. I brought the phone back to ubreakifix 2 days later after the phone started ghost touching & AT&T couldn't resolve the SIM card issue. I was then told that the phone had been damaged during the screen repair & that they'd replace it if they couldn't fix the new damage. They first replaced my phone with an AT&T device that only had 64gb of storage, which I noted in my initial review, & then again with a 128gb Sprint device a week later (Important to note here that before this replacement, I told them I needed an AT&T device or an unlocked device that I could use with my AT&T SIM card, which they told me they'd get for me). I could not unlock this device myself, which I was told by a sprint representative, because I wasn't the account holder for the phone. When I relayed this to the store, they basically told me I was on my own & insinuated that I was being a difficult customer. This all occurred over a 2 week period I then had to get ubreakifix's corporate office involved, & after another 2 weeks of back and forth between AT&T, Sprint, Apple, & uBreakiFix, corporate finally got the Roosevelt store to give me a replacement device that I could actually use with my SIM card. The corporate rep, Jen, was amazing & went above & beyond to help me; if I could give her 5 stars I would. But this review isn't about her, it's about this store. During this whole ordeal I tried to be empathetic & was never rude, even when it became incredibly frustrating. Had my device been replaced correctly the first time, I would have just kept my initial review & moved on. But, I feel like I was gaslit & made out to be difficult when all I wanted was a working phone. Jen informed me that corporate would be retraining this location on their company standards, & I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I'd like to believe that things will improve here, or maybe that my experience was just a unique occurrence, but all I know is that I had an unnecessarily stressful experience at this store, & the next time something happens with my device, I'm gonna take it to Apple or Best Buy for a repair. read more

Good place to bring your electronics when they're broken and need to be fixed. I've used this place before to fix one of my tablets, and that time it was fixed promptly, and I was able to pick up my tablet within a week. However, if you have a Samsung device, don't expect them to repair it right away. I learned this the hard way today. They are under contract with Samsung, so they cannot use third-party parts to repair Samsung devices, only Samsung parts. Other than that, I've had good experiences with Ubreakifix. read more

I took my daughters tablet in to get the screen replaced. Two weeks ago. First time around I got it on Friday and by Saturday the screen was popping off. My daughter dripped a few drops of water on the screen. Literally what little drops came out of her sippy cup. When I went to wipe it off (this isn't the first time she's has dropped a few droplets on it) I noticed the screen was popping off. Well, the screen went black. I took it to them to repair and they mentioned the battery, but the tablet has data from tmobile and it won't connect. It takes forever to load and now the whole tablet is going crazy. It won't register the time. It won't connect to data or wifi. The screen has started doing its own thing. Switching off and on. I should have never gone to them. I'm calling tomorrow but the guy at the desk is trying to make it seem like the tablets issue was the drops of water that fell on it. Yeah, any moisture would have done this since the screen was not on! It was only a matter of time before it would have broken! He wants to make it seem like it's my fault and is saying it's the battery. It's not. It's the UI. I'll update when the issue is resolved if it's ever resolved. read more

I'm not sure what they actually do here, but apparently because of their contract with Samsung, they dont actually fix Samsungs. I know, doesn't make sense. But when I went in there they couldn't fix my phone because they didn't even have parts and also the "contract" wouldn't allow them to do certain things, then when I called back knowing what was wrong with the phone, they confirmed that they are not allowed to fix it. So apparently they have a contract saying they're not allowed to fix Samsung phones. So I guess dont bother to go here if you have a Samsung. read more

Call about a month ago I came to this location to get my screen fixed. To fix an iPhone runs you about $190 I didn't mind paying for because I need my phone to work and they did a great job. The guy explained to me that there is a lifetime warranty as long as the screen is not damaged. Thanks to iPhone making their wonderful phones out of glass a fracture happened on the screen the next day. I went back to the location today because I was unable to get into my phone due to text screen issues. I asked the guy at the front could he help me and he told me that I would have to get another screen because of the crack. I am not paying another $200 to replace the screen. After going back-and-forth with this gentleman JT came from the back and helped me reset my phone and fixed it. JT is the best and most logical person that works there. Thank you JT!! read more
