So it's been quite a while since I've needed to pay a visit to the Smart Addiction shop and now…read morethey are in a different location than those first times that I needed their help. Recently I miscalculated my stride on some steps and came crashing down with my mobile in my hand and while I wasn't injured, my phones corner glass was smashed. I was mad for the most part since the phone is only five months old and didn't have insurance on it. Before you chide me about that, I should mention that I've never so much as scratched a phone screen in the 25 or so years of using these devices. End of streak. So anyway after being scolded by Verizon, I headed to the Smart Addiction store which is also known as "iFixit New York, Bay Ridge" location to assess the damage and the cost to repair. Sadly, the screen for this particular model was not in stock and would need to be ordered. I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL since I rather like a large phone based on all the web and social media stuff I do. The other downside would be the cost of $300 to replace and repair this broken screen. They said the Google phones are costly repairs so the part was ordered and I waited a few days. Once it was in the shop they took my device for a few hours and all was good as new. The staff is friendly but as technicians they are more interested in getting the job done efficiently for the customer. I told them the exact happening that got the breakage for them to be aware in case such actions lead to other issues. It's always best to be honest with the technicians. If you spill something on a laptop, let them know, if you drop your phone out a window, let them know etc. All in all I am glad that they are here and I hope that its a while before I have to come in there again since I don't like breaking things. Another good option at this location in Bay Ridge is that they have one of those Go Lockers so you can direct Amazon, FedEx and more to so you don't miss a delivery while you are at work. Thanks for the repair gang.

They are liars!!! I brought my laptop to check because I…read morethought, it was broken, since the screen was black. I passed it for diagnostics. The next day, they called me and said that the problem is with Software, which they can fix for $150. I decided to wait with the repair, as I was soon about to go to visit my son and wanted to show my laptop to my son first. It turned out that it was just the lighting of the screen went to zero and the son showed me 2 buttons that regulate the illumination of the screen, one with a plus, the other with a minus. After such an experience, I will never turn to this company again and will not advise others. Now I understand why among Russian -speaking in America there is a distrust of Russian businesses. Shame on you!!!

I rate this Court Street Branch of u BreakiFix "VBAS" for VERY BAD ATTITUDE and Service…read more So I dropped my phone and my screen cracked into such a rainbow of colors it made the Pride Flag look like an old black & white TV. I've been going to this uBiFix here since at least 2019 bc it's in my hood and they were always solid - but I guess new crew new attitude - ah how we long for the good old days. Anyways I've had shorter waits in Doctor Offices. The waiting area looked like a subway platform at rush hour - and by that I mean - a few lucky peeps had seats and the rest of us stood around waiting....and waiting... Anyways my tech Andrew informed me a new Apple Screen would be $250 or $300 I cant remember which now, but that an after market would be $200. So being that the phone is a couple of years old I went with the after market. They took it in, fixed it and I was out. Next day - even though it sat on my desk or in my pocket - another rainbow appeared. So I went back I showed it to Andrew and said, "Its covered under the warranty right? Its only one day" He said, "Well if it's not your fault" I showed him the spotless screen. I was like "Dude forget about no cracks or no scratches -there's not even a speck of dust on the screen." "Well lets see." He goes in and comes out after too long a time to tell me, "Yeah we're gonna do you a favor and fix it." "Do me a favor?" I'm thinking - because Techs are like car mechanics or Doctors - you can't express how you really feel if you're still gonna put your whatever in their hands. Lets get real - Business don't survive by doing favors. It was 2 days into warranty - and whether it was a defective screen or incompetence - that's why you're gonna do it. Anyways I was never given a reason why it failed. So I get it back fixed and a few days later, its in my shirt pocket, I'm standing leaning over my desk and my phone - that's in a sturdy case - falls about 2 feet onto my desk and like that old Rolling Stones song "SHE COMES IN COLORS EVERYWHERE - SHE'S LIKE A RAINBOW!" Needless to say I got my answer the hard way - if their aftermarket screen cracks from 2 foot fall to a desk - it's prolly not even defective but just cheap crap. I mean 2 screens fail that easy - time to source a new provider boys! I had no time to go back to their circus as I had to fly - besides slap me once shame on you, but slap me twice... Anyways when I got to Louisville Kentucky there was a shop on Bardstown Rd & Eastern Parkway - polite, friendly no attitude. Their aftermarket cost only $149.00 instead of $200 and they told me it would be ready in 30 min. I didnt even get to finish my coffee in the cafe across the street before I got a text it was done. MORAL OF THE STORY: If you can't get to Kentucky for a great deal, and you're happy with Bad Attitude, Product & Service - then the uBreakiFix on Court Street is the joint for you! ,

They have lots of laptops in store that they're fixing and they sell used phones, laptops, and tablets as well. They have a wide selection behind the counter. My ipad mini dropped by accident and the screen was cracked. It was still working fine except the glass was broken and you could easily get cut. Again, everything was working like normal and the screen was just cracked..that's all. The ipad was brought in for repair on a dead battery because I forgot to charge it. I get a call from the guy here who said the ipad was charged up and the crack actually caused a black spot on the screen. If I wanted this fixed it's an extra $75. I told him I played with the ipad numerous times after it fell and there was no black spot. He stayed quiet. He probably thought I never saw the screen after it fell...not the case. I told him no, dont fix it and I'll see what he's talking about when I pick it up. Went the next day to pick up and saw the round black spot. I told him this was not there when it fell. Again, he said nothing. I told him how did the black spot appear and he said from the drop. Um, no thats not the case and I told him this wasn't there. Again, he said nothing. Once I got home my husband was very upset and called the location. He spoke to the guy and told him this was a crappy job he did and asked how the spot appeared. He actually told my husband the spot got worse after he opened the ipad to fix it. Clearly the spot appeared after you attempted to fix the glass. Why should we pay to fix your mistake????!!!! He never offered to fix his mess. What kind of customer service do you provide? None apparently. We actually thought bringing my device here was a mistake and we shouldve went to kings plaza mall and had the kiosk people fix it or even my neighborhood guy who does good work with apple products. Now, I have to pay double to fix his mistake. I will not leave this here, I'll be looking to file a complaint with this so called company. I will post a picture of the spot he caused on my ipad.
