Uber is alive and well in Tosa ! I took my first Uber ride today, and overall it was excellent going from my home to/from Mayfair Mall. Both drivers were very safe and pleasant and driving nice cars. Speaking as a newbie, I have only two negatives. One is I find the site Uber.Com and the user interface on my Android phone somewhat clumsy. (I had trouble reading my screen in the sunlight.) Two, I discovered that at a congested mall the GPS doesn't pinpoint your location that accurately. The Uber driver finally called me to determine my exact location. I live in Goldcoast area of Chicago, IL WILL NOT RECOMMEND UBER AS A COMPANY - UNAUTHORIZED CHARGING ME FOR THREE (3) TIMES OF MEMBERSHIP FEES OF @$9.99 IN LAST THREE OF MY RIDES IN TWO MONTHS PERIOD. First charged in December, I've reported to my bank and they literally have to closed my card and issued a new one. The 2nd & 3rd times which occurred on 02-06-2026 , I contacted Uber for help and the Bot at uber denied my claimed. Definitely, need to watch your uber account for this unauthorized charges whenever you order a rides. As for me, I'm using Lyft for now or Chicago Taxi because they are clear of any other charges except their regular ride fees as agreed. On 3/16 I called to setup a ride for the 17th. I spoke with Sam who claimed I needed to setup an account with Uber. In the process, I followed his instructions causing my bank account to be overdrawn by $450, $150 on my Discover card, and had my credit card company not been looking out for me, $600 on another card. "Sam"claimed he was trying to find the correct card to get my account setup. I tried to tell him I only needed a ride for the 17th, and finally after two hours that was accomplished. It was on the 18th that I found out about my bank account, but was unable to speak to Sam. My bank reimbursed the $450 that was taken by Uber. I spoke to Sam on the 30th, for another two hours. He wanted me to go through the entire process again, so he could deposit the $450 back to my bank. They flagged it as fraud, and Sam kept telling me to call my bank to have them process it. Finally, I just said I was done with Uber and reported it all as fraud. There was no way that I could get a straight answer as to when I was going to be made whole, and I was done playing games. read more

It is difficult to communicate with supervisors when a trip is unsafe or unsatisfying. Drivers won't cancel a trip if they are late, they wait until you cancel it to receive a cancellation fee. read more

The ride was very uncomfortable due to the fact that I have Asthma and Restrictive Lung Disease; so when getting into a smoke filled car TWO days in a row upon returning home - day one Urgent Care, day two Allergist (allergic to smoke) for treatments, happiness wasn't on the menu. The Uber drivers that I have dealt with have all been fantastic, but the company as a whole is garbage! Their customer support is non-existent and their fees are outrageous! They charge $20.00 to allow me to go and get a lost item from a driver. When I tried to dispute the charge, they refunded the entire trip and cost the driver an entire trip's pay! This is completely unsatisfactory! Their website won't even allow you to contact them directly via phone. The phone number they list is for an advertisement selling vacations! The way the handle the business on the app. My account was blocked because it had duplicate accounts and Idk why. I hadn't used them since before 2022 and I closed my account the last time I used them. So I had spent all weekend trying to get it unblocked but they keep telling me that I got to log in from primary acc but idk what the primary acc is and they say I have 5 accounts but when I go to the find my acc button it only shows two accounts none of which they gave me. So I can't log in from primary account anyways. And my issue never got fixed. So after a long weekend of trying to fix that so I can drive for them and make money I got screwed in the end with a big old headache instead and no money. I spent 15 minutes waiting for my ride when there was a driver 2 minutes away making me late for work I'm very disappointed I had to order a Lyft so I would make it to work on time. Very disappointed I am a 5-star passenger and I get the furthest driver. I'm in the heart of a city there is no reason it should take that long. read more

He was kind and very professional....UNTIL he got his tip and he was gone! I left an item in his vehicle that's important to me. I Immediately made TWO attempts to contact him that were unsuccessful! Went thru Uber channels, they suggested same efforts. Tried again. I'm supposed to be able to leave a voicemail, but it rings and cut me off! This has been since 9/15/19! I'd have to pay $15 for him to bring my item back and I'm willing to do that, but Umar appears to be gone with the wind! My gripe is NOT with Uber, it's with their driver, UMAR! read more

Uber is a much better choice than Milwaukee taxis. Taxi service in Milwaukee is so bad. Regular taxis will not pick me up if I call from an African-American neighborhood, and except for a couple of transportation hubs I can never just wave one down. Before Uber hit this town I had to take taxis from time to time and they are so undependable, can't arrange for them ahead of time and be sure they will show up, and they always try to shake me down for cash. Even if before I get in I ask, "I want to make sure you take credit cards," still once in or at my destination they try to force me into cash. One of the most embarrassing times the cab driver wouldn't take my credit cards so I had to go into work to get some cash and I took too long so the cabbie came into my place of work asking people where I was so they all got the impression I tried to stiff him. It was humiliating enough asking people I work with for that much cash. So, Uber thank you. I haven't found big differences with Lyft, but I have had a couple of Lyft experiences here in Milwaukee where the Lyft driver didn't know where they were going because they are solely reliant on their GPS which seems to be a little less functional than Google Maps. Uber feels a little pricey but is still cheaper than taxis by more than a little. I know from taking the same route at different times in taxis, Uber and Lyft. The phone application is pretty functional, I get an accurate ETA, adequate description of the driver and vehicle, the cost is precise and I can tip using my phone too. Sometimes I get some good conversation, sometimes some good music. Unlike in taxis I've never been subjected to neo-con right wing hate radio or dogmatic Christian proselytizing programming on an Uber ride. Uber cars have usually been pretty clean and comfortable, all in all if I don't have the time for the County Bus and I want to go somewhere the Hop doesn't go (like just about anywhere that is) then Uber is really my only viable choice. read more

I hate Uber. I find their software to be user UNfriendly. I tried to get their app connection which took 3 tries. I could not find a cancel button either. I was charged for a trip I never took. I did some research before downloading a ride app and came to find that Uber was everyone's favorite. I really enjoy that the app allows you to see a picture of the driver, the plate, AND THE CAR SHAPE. It tells you what make to look for but that means nothing to me so having the car shape on the app is super helpful. I like that it is done through my app, through paypal. I don't have to worry about money and Uber calculates and adds a 20% tip as well, so no need to tip! I have never waiting more than about 14 minutes for a ride and the drivers are always polite. There is one driver I get quite often that doesn't seem to talk, but hey, that's his thing. read more

Why I finally uninstalled uber... and it's not political: The price is right, and the service mostly good. A couple of times, customer support treated me very well. But one day they made huge changes to their app. As a consequence, when trying to schedule a future ride something buggy caused the app to overwrite my intended pick-up location with my currently detected location. I was sure I had it right by the 3rd attempt, but when I arrived at the pick-up location 30 minutes later, my uber app told me my driver was waiting.... at the old detected location. I promptly canceled the ride and ordered one from my real location. I was 15 minutes late to a meeting because of this. So I contacted uber by email, briefly explaining what had happened. I was told by "Kandarp" they'd charged the correct cancellation fee. I insisted, explaining in greater detail what had happened. I was told by "Roshni" I'd get a the fee credited back. Yippee! Thanks Roshni! I thought it prudent to tell them that, for me, more important than the money was that they look into the bug... see if there is one. A last message arrived from "John": "We appreciate your thoughts on this, and understand you're frustrated you did not receive a cancellation fee refund on this trip. Our team has reviewed this trip, and we can confirm that a full refund of the cancellation fee is not in accordance with our policy. Please know that your concerns have been heard. We understand that we likely will not see eye-to-eye on this issue. With that, the credit will remain on your account and we are closing out this discussion." First you giveth, then you taketh away? Ugh. Slap in the face. App uninstalled. And I'm going with Roshni's promise. Good luck getting those 4$ out of me. (Also, the CEO is kind of a jerk. Everybody knows that.) I'd just like to say to say THANK YOU to the Uber driver in Milwaukee last night that saw I was lost, and unable to get home! (SIDENOTE: My boyfriend was supposed to pick me up downtown @ around 1:30 am, my phone died and my boyfriend was lost, I started to panic. For 2 hours I walked around looking for him, talking to police officers asking for them to call me a cab. They did and I was kicked out of the cab because I didn't have enough money. At that point I just had given up on even trying to get home and started looking for a place to sit down and possibly sleep. I couldn't f*cking believe this. What started out as a great night out for a girlfriend's birthday turned into a very scary experience! I noticed a black SUV and inside the Uber driver Ryan was concerned about my safety and offered me a ride home, and had a phone charger!! He also notified me it was 4:45 AM. Thank you so much Ryan! Wish I could give zero stars... I loved Uber at the beginning, but the quality of their drivers started to diminish after the first year. It seems they allow anyone with a license to drive for their service. Still, I continued to use because they are waaayyy cheaper than a taxi. I probably have spent a couple thousand with this company since they started serving the Milwaukee area. I will not use their service anymore, however, and it came to a head when one of their drivers stole my phone. It's a long story, but I mistakenly left my iPhone in a woman's car (Therese) and she told Uber that she returned it to me, but I assure you I have not received my phone back. Uber refuses to assist me or discipline their employee. This company is absolute crap and if your property is stolen, you better be prepared not to receive it back. Unfortunate that this company is so poorly run. I now use Lyft exclusively... The quality of driver is so much better!!! read more

BEWARE of SCAM at Milwaukee Airport! I clicked on the app and before choosing type of care - my phone was interrupted by an Uber driver - a black Lincoln Towncar showed up at Milwaukee airport and charged me $55.00 for the trip - again - remember - somehow before I chose what type of car, my signal was interrupted. We complained to the company as we only were charged $16.95 on our way to the airport 5 days ealier. The company told us the $55.00 was because we chose the expensive car type. I think some of the drivers are able to interrupt the signal as soon as you request a ride and before you choose what type and get the price, they respond and you then have no idea that they just sent you an expensive car ride. read more

Why cab services are getting crushed by Uber & Lyft... Uber from MKE to the Milwaukee Marriott Downtown on Saturday night (10:30pm), 6/25 in a newer, clean Honda Odyssey = $19.88. Return trip with Yellow Cab Co-op from the Milwaukee Marriott Downtown to MKE on Monday AM (4:25am), 6/27 in a tired car with cab # taped to drivers headrest with clear packaging tape, an 8.5x11 laminated "credit card policy" (which was incorrect) zip tied and dangling from the passenger headrest banging on your legs as you get into/out of the car, and a rear passenger side window that was stuck 1/2 way down = $29.00 (without tip). That's 46% more for a dilapidated cab. Not to mention when the driver went to print out the receipt it came out blank so I was handed the "fill out yourself" paper receipt. With Uber I had the receipt in my Inbox within 5 minutes of getting out of the car. Only reason for taking a cab was that I couldn't find an Uber available at 4:15am, so I guess the cab companies still have an opportunity in the wee hours. Both drivers were fine - no complaints there, but absolutely no comparison when it comes to Customer Experience. Thank you Uber. read more
