Two separate experiences with Lyft. First: their GPS that shows where you are located when reserving your ride is inaccurate. On our trip to downtown Chicago from our house showed the house across the street even after I updated the address. The same issue when I requested a ride from our hotel to a restaurant. The pickup location showed as the next block over. We had to run to catch our ride or get charged extra for wait. Second: The driver to our downtown location drove on the shoulder multiple times in an effort to bypass the backups on the Eisenhower. We were not comfortable with those driving habits. read more

Unfortunately they've started to run a clock when running in and out of a convenience store. I got charged nearly $3 more for being inside for 2mins! It's going to cut down on our ability to tip properly. They also have a problem with picking out a ride for a certain price if you want to wait or more if you can't wait yet I end up waiting a lot & still charged for a ride that should've arrived 30mins ago. I needed a ride to a hospital for an urgent medical procedure and my circle of friends could not assist me. So, the day before I searched around for options and settled on Lyft. Nice and easy online so I put in all my information and got confirmation shortly thereafter. Great, I can breathe easier since I was already anxious about the last-minute procedure. I had scheduled the driver with extra time in case they needed it to find my house. The next morning, I received confirmation from Lyft with the 10-minute timeframe agreed to which came one hour before the driver was to arrive. All good, I jump in the shower. I'm waiting outside 10 minutes before they were to arrive. I get a text. It reads, "Unfortunately we had to cancel your scheduled ride. We've logged the error but please request a new ride." Really! NOW! You couldn't do this yesterday so I could arrange alternate rides? I have to leave in 10 minutes! I ended up having to drive myself creating more stress plus fact that I had to leave my car at the hospital and enlist the help of others who found a person THAT I DON'T EVEN KNOW to pick me up afterward with my car still at the hospital. Lyft Kenosha STINKS! I am a Senior with no vehicle trying to get to my doctor's office. I book the car on Wednesday - no problem. I am told the car would be here at Lakeside Towers between 1:35 and 1:50 for my 2:30 appointment - again, no problem. Lyft is fantastic!!!! I will likely never take a Milwaukee cab again!!! Hallelujah! Enter Lyft :) Milwaukee was so challenged interns of taxi service. When you call for one they are either a) rude b) hang up on you c) don't answer d) don't show up e) don't know were the heck they're going, etc. (I once waited for over 30 mins to get picked up at LA FUENTE. It's less than a mile from the American cab company ... He could NOT find us at La Fuente). The cool thing about Lyft is the giant (or small) pink mustaches. Can't miss 'em. The people of Lyft are also 10x nicer and more personable than the general cab driver. It's so convenient to get picked up right from the Lyft app. And the fact that there is no paper money exchanged is Excellent! (Yet another thing sucky taxi drivers give customers a hard time about). OMG! I love this service! SUPER friendly, efficient, clean and affordable! The drivers I've gotten have all been knowledgable about Milwaukee and I love the fist bumps when I get in the car. It's fantastic that I can request a ride through my phone and I know right away if I've gotten paired with a driver. I can even watch them drive to me and know exactly when they are arriving. And NO EXTRA CHARGE for multiple passengers! I got a Lyft with three girlfriends and it didn't cost any more than it would have with just me. Multiple stops are not a problem! Had a driver stop at Walgreens while I picked up a prescription on the way to my friend's house. The driver was totally cool with waiting for me while I ran inside. I learn something new from every ride I get. Found a new screen printer for my sports club and a videographer for a kickstarter campaign I'm working on through Lyft!! I will never use a taxi or private car service again. Fo the cost, Lyft is WAY cheaper than valet or event parking prices and my time is worth more than what it would take to find a place to leave my car at Summerfest or other events around town. Love that I don't have to worry about finding a way home after a night on the town, because Lyft is on my phone and I don't have to have cash on hand to get a ride. Wondering if this is going to be the new "morning after" mode of transport. I am not sure that I can say anything that has not already been said, but I know the importance of writing good/bad reviews. I mean, hey, that's the day in age that we live in. If there aren't testimonials, no one thinks twice about giving it a try. They want to know what they getting into before jumping in. And I get it, because I am one of those people. I had heard about this service months ago when they were looking for new drivers and now Lyft is everywhere! I used Lyft for the first time when hanging out with some friends one night. We decided that it would be better if rode a "taxi" instead of driving because there was severely limited parking at our destination. I mean, I was impressed by how we were able to see the driver's picture and vehicle that was going to pick us up as well as how we could track how far away the driver was. This gave me a sense of security because I have these details. Our driver was very nice and kept the conversation going the entire duration of the ride. There was never a dull moment where we stared into space. Since I felt good about the first time, I decided to try it out on my own since I had 2 free rides to use before the end of the month. I was even more impressed this time because my drivers were amazing! They arrived on time, their cars were clean, the conversation was friendly and upbeat, and it really did feel like our friend picking us up and dropping us off. And the fact that I did not have to have cash or debit/credit card on hand really made it convenient. And I am all about convenience. When I say that the drivers go the extra mile, I mean it. One driver got out of the car and held his umbrella over me while walking me to the door since I had forgotten my umbrella. Another driver gave us water and another Starbursts. I am sorry, but I will probably never ride another taxi again because of this 5 star service that I received from Lyft. Super easy to use through an app on my phone. All you do is hit a button and within seconds you're paired with a driver. You can see their picture, a picture of their car, and track their progress to you real-time in the app's map. It texts you once the driver arrives and you can call them through a scrambled number in the app in case you can't find them. So easy, really cheap, no charge for extra people in the car like taxis. Fun people, music, candy, everything. Cars so far are clean and in good working condition. I really love the opportunity to use this service when I go places like the 3rd ward where parking is a nightmare and I'd be paying for it anyway. I had a terrible, shocking experience with Lyft, when a young driver ran through a red traffic light. He was several yards away, then he speeded up and ran through the red light. I never used the service again after that bad experience. I believe the service, cars, and drivers need to be regulated like the yellow cab service, and all the drivers need to be subjected to thorough background checks. read more

It's awesome. You never get put on hold, just hit "request Lyft". You don't even have to know where you are, the GPS takes care of it and brings them to you. You don't have to have cash or even have your credit card with you. Everything's stored in the system so your ride involves no exchange of money. You get picked up in a clean car by a friendly driver. If it's bar time they'll almost certainly offer you a bottle of water and probably even a snack. I've learned that many Lyft drivers double as Uber drivers so you may or may not see the pink moustache on the car that picks you up, but there's still no doubt about which ride is yours since you know the make/model of the car coming to get you and have a picture of the driver. After years of being snubbed by taxis, or being forced to get cash because they wouldn't take credit cards, I was an early and fervent fan of Lyft. But they are deteriorating rapidly. My last ride was a new low. The driver couldn't see me standing in front of my house with my luggage instead waiting two houses down. The addresses are clearly marked on the outside of all of our houses and it was broad daylight. She drove two blocks in the wrong direction before getting on the on ramp, and then couldn't find the Milwaukee Mitchell Airport. She admitted she went the wrong way earlier, also upsetting her airport bound passenger. She blamed GPS when she clearly put in the wrong address, and wouldn't correct it when I told her how to put in the right address for flight departures. She couldn't help with the luggage, and couldn't pull up to the curb at the airport instead stopping in the middle of the access road between baggage and departures. She had to ask if I wanted to be dropped off on the baggage side, when I told her I had a flight to catch. I am usually sympathetic to people new on any job, but she should have learned the first time she couldn't find the airport, and I'm pretty good at teaching and training but she would not listen to me explain how to use GPS. read more

The cars are always clean, drivers always nice, and the app is so easy to use. It truly makes ordering a Lyft super easy. Most drivers are only a few minutes away, they show you the driver's face and the car so you know what to look for. Definitely a ton better than battling for a cab. read more

(before the pick up) So far my review is a 2. I got several promo codes at Yelp events for free rides. When I enter them it says "not available in my area?" or for first time customers only. I contacted Lyft Mke and they said I must have requested a ride which I have not. Tonight will be my first time riding with them. I am beyond frustrated. Let's hope my ride goes better. Lyft Mke got back to me tonight and said promo codes are temporarily suspended in this area WTF? ( the ride) We requested a ride at 10:30Pm and even though the App had a driver coming and he called me and said he was 2 minutes away, he didn't get to us for 20 minutes. My kids were freezing as well as myself. The driver was really nice and the car was clean. It cost us under $11.00 to get from downtown. Which was good for a cab. You are allowed to have up to four people in a car but it was pretty tight with myself in the front and my two daughters in the back seat. I was going to raise my review up to a 3 because our driver did put a good effort into getting us home fast. However, I was really kinda upset at the length of time it took to pick us up and the fact these promo cards I have gotten at events, are useless. I am extremely irritated!! I have been utilizing Lyft for years and it used to be very reliable and a pleasant experience. Lately it has been awful. I set up Lyft rides based on the time I have to be somewhere, and generally to arrive 5-10 minutes early. Lately, the driver changes multiple times, which makes me 5-10 minutes later than I was initially supposed to get somewhere. It's like waiting for a bus that's running late more so than conveniently jumping into a car to get where I/we need to go. My driver told me that this is basically for the benefit of the drivers. It is a big inconvenience for the customers though. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for a car --- instead of waiting 8 minutes, I waited 18 min. The driver told me that the ride probably calibrated to him because he was dropping somebody off at D&B's. But, the last driver who was assigned to me was at D&B's and would have been here 8 minutes before him. He said maybe there was somebody who needed to be picked up in Waukesha, so they sent the driver that was 2 minutes from me to the further location so they don't have to wait so long for a driver. My driver changed 4 times and they were always 2-3 minutes away when they changed the driver. The driver that actually showed up was 10 minutes away... why not have the person that was 2 minutes away take me home and have the other driver pickup the other person.. I was obviously in the queue first because she was assigned to be my driver. It is just extremely frustrating!! There has to be another way to do this. Hopefully, somebody comes out with another ride option, other than Lyft and Uber, where they put the customer first because I would prefer to ride with that company so I can get to where I need to go when I need to get there. I thought that was the point of Lyft, but it seems like they have changed their focus away from customer experience. read more

I got the same problem twice and tried to send Lyft messages. They used automatic system to say that they will refund the fee I was charged incorrectly as a credit. But they still with draw money from my account. So I requested lyft from amtrak MKE airport to home. It showed driver was 5 mins away would come soon. Then the driver sent me a message that he could not pick me up because someone left phone in his car. I tried to call him but he ignored the phone call. Then he waited until it was over departure time so I was charged for no show fee. It was first time on Jan 23th and today it happened again (Jan 29th) with the SAME DRIVER.
