I have just spent almost an hour trying to get an Uber ride and now will probably miss my flight. First,the ETA kept expanding,then going back down again. When it got to 4 minutes it stayed there and then started going up. Then I got a message saying my ride had expired and to try again. I tried 3 more times with the same results and now am begging a ride from a friend, something I really didn't want to do. I don't understand. I've taken Uber before with no problems, but after this experience,never again. I would give it a zero, but there is no such rating. We had an extremely rude driver who decided to request an upcharge from our original quote of ~35 to 70 on the basis of having four people. However, there were only three of us. When we contacted support, they originally approved the refund, then immediately retracted the approval on the whims of this driver. They didn't provide proof and their support has yet to address this with anything other than a form response. As a Uber virgin, my first was a happy experience. Larry, was my driver. He called ahead to let me know where he was and inquired as to exactly where I was located. He called again when he was in the front of the building; his profile appeared on my phone with a picture and his vehicle description, all comforting and giving a sense of safety. We didn't know but his claim was taxi charge $75 vs his $60. We made the mistake albeit not knowing that taxi fares are about $30 from airport to port. The driver (in Naples, Florida, be ware! Enri from Albania!) felt like charging me 20 dollars for "professional cleaning." Uber was on his side. The driver picked us up from a beach hotel. The ride was 2 miles. Shoes left a bit of sand on the mat and seat. Something that can easily be shaken off and does not require professional cleaning. No warning, no explanation, no permission to charge card. Just changed the fare to 20 dollars more a day later! I would have shaken that sand off myself, had I known. Shame on you, Uber, for supporting this kind of conduct from your driver! Riders, be ware, ride uber in designer shoes only and only after having had a shower! Like every night uder home I was quoted $2.95 for the ride home the driver arrived and I asked him to confirm the ride with my name he didn't seem like he knew what I was talking about I could tell he could not speak English I get in the car I can tell that he's a little lost I asked him where are you going we don't seem to be going to my location area he said I think we're going to be picking up another customer I can't seem to find your address well we would close to my location which is about 5 - 6 miles and then I heard the voice of the other passenger which is in the carpool over your cell phone who was wondering where it his ride was going to arrive I was only a couple blocks for my location of my home but yeah he said he made a mistake and he was going to have to turn around and pick up the other passenger I seem to be alright with it since it was my way home and I was not in a hurry we show up at the location of the other passenger and my address is lost in his application in this phone not only am I trapped in a car with people that cannot speak very little English but I'm no in the car for over 40 minutes and I only have a ten minute ride to my home I have IC driver that I need to get home and then he has the wrong address he said that he was just about out of gas and then he needed money or he was going to run out of gas well I did not give him gas money and the other pastors were very helpful and they could speak Spanish they had to be his cell phone and asked me to put my location and MapQuest I finally made it home it was not too terribly upset about the incident 22 I looked in my phone and was charged $19 for a $2.50 right I tried to contact the company of course there's the one that you can speak to and it did not reply to my email or my complaint read more

Uber is now robbing people, yes thats right, what should have been a 26 dollar ride from the airport, I was charged 96.00... for a 12 mile ride, at this point Lyft is the way to go now, Uber seems to think they are still the only ride in town, as others start a new driver service, they should really watch what they are doing.. the ride should not have been more than 30 bucks total, but for some reason they decided that a 12 mile ride was worth 100 bucks.... So when you are about to call uber for a ride, Think about it, make sure they are not being taken for a ride if you know what I mean.. The driver barely spoke English??? What country is this anyway! I will never use their service again, after hundreds of rides, it kept going up and up, but now 100 bucks for 12 mile ride from the airport????? WTF??? Keep in mind there are 3 other driving services that will most likely be much better, might be a good idea to check them out before using this crappy car service.. First they need to screen their drivers, if I want a guy who doesn't speak English and dont know where he is going, might as well just use a crappy cab... I'm a frequent business traveler and I've been taking taxis to and from Miami airport for years now, however the Miami taxi cab experience was always dreadful: the rude and disrespectful behavior of Miami cab drivers was overwhelming. They made you feel like they were doing you a favor instead of giving you a service you were actually paying for. Once I got in a cab and first thing they ask me is whether I was paying cash because the credit card machine wasn't working properly. It looked fine to me. Then I get dropped off 5 blocks from my destination because he didn't want to get into traffic. Really??? I took Uber for the first time 2 months ago. The experience was amazing. I was able to have a conversation with people I could really understand and who were always nice and respectful. People just like me. Needless to say the Uber app is so practical.
