I leave in Coral gables and requested Uber to go to the beach. During one hour, a pick up message kept flashing that a car would arrive in 5, then 10, then 9 minutes etc... etc... There is no message with a cab phone number so one cannot actually call the driver. If I call Uber Miami I land a answering machine to leave a message, so no real assistance. If I can cancel I am charged. It happened once. This is THEFT to me !!!!! read more

Let me start.. the uber driver that left the Smoke on the Water Cigar bar here in Weston tonight around 1:35 am (I'm sure you can check your records if you care) sped out of the parking lot recklessly. They also helped a few of our patrons leave without paying their tab. This is exceptionally ridiculous considering we had a bartender follow them out ask them to come back inside to pay. Once they said they said they would our bartender came back inside assuming they would follow, once we realized they didn't we went back outside with their tab and that is when the Uber driver sped off. I spent my weekend using Uber and thought it was the great! However the ride last night from the Sam Smith concert was the ride from hell. First it took the driver 30 to 45 minutes to tell me where he was at even though the app said he wud there in six minutes. Then I actually had to walk two blocks to find him...simply because he was totally lost. I later found out that he really didn't know miami at all. The drivers have been hit or miss and the inconsistency is annoying. I really would like some better screening of the drivers. I didn't like having to always use google translate in order for me to communicate with the driver. Speaking even conversational English has to be the minimum requirement. read more

i stopped using uber when they charged me $174 for a $20 trip. i contested this charge many times, many excuses by uber to keep my money. my last attempt resulted in their final excuse, "your claim is too old to be considered". here's my story . . . . (an actual email sent to uber) my issue is with the trip on 4/20/18 for $174.59. the driver assumed i was going to sarasota but i was going to my home in miami. he asked me to enter the address in his other phone. he took me home but charged me for a trip to sarasota. see other trips from mia airport to my home all around $20, but this one was for $174.59. i've asked for fairness but i've been ignored by uber. i'll ask again for fairness and please refund $150 to my account. bottom line - terrible customer service, no recourse in the event of a billing discrepancy. bad business - i travel frequently and they lost a good customer for life. think twice before giving your credit card info to these folks. read the reviews..... read more

I entered a location. The Uber driver took me to a completely different location than I requested. He entered a different address into his GPS than I entered into the Uber ap. He then realized he made a mistake and took me to the correct location, the location I originally entered. He then charged me more than I was quoted because he took me to the wrong location first!! My address always remained consistent. the Uber driver had two different addresses that I never provided. I have a screenshot from the Uber ap showing what I am saying. I provided the photo to Uber. I did absolutely nothing wrong and Uber refused to correct the charge for me for their drivers mistake. Terribly dishonest company. I will be using LyFt from now on. read more

Took a Uber from Miami Beach to MIA (airport)...needed an SUV. Driver comes to pick us up and a very clean Chevy Tahoe. He was dressed in a suit. Very helpful in loading and unloading 6 pieces of luggage....and offered us bottled water. Took a "very usual" cab from FLL (airport) home. Uber is now not allowed to pick-up at FLL. It is very easy to figure out. This cab was a typical disaster....NO FUEL light on the entire trip. Driver was very disappointed that we didn't want to take the long way (on 95) that late at night, is always jammed due to construction.... Barely gave a hand with the luggage....and asked me how much a tip I gave him. I hope the "public" takes a stand....and demands UBER permission to pick up at FLL.....cause it really is a much better way to get a ride. One more thing.....with Uber....they tell you in advance how much you are going to pay...and since tip is included....you don't get that sour face from the cab driver .... even after tipping him 20% read more

I had a horrific experience. I was the only rider but he had me walk a block away in a hard rain and there were tornado warnings. He spoke no English and had no personality or manners. He turned north when the airport was to the south. I had him stop at a police car and the police told him to turn around and go the other way. He was not able to communicate. I did not know where I was going to end up when he turned north. A good Uber driver would put the suitcase on the curb but he just put it by his trunk. He had no common sense and acted like he did not want to be driving. I expect better from Uber. I have written 3 or 4 messages to Uber about my horrible experience and they send me lame replies. I use uber regularly. I stumbled across it via social media and has been hooked ever since. If you're fed up with cabs, this is the way to go i promise. All of the drivers are background checked for the customers safety. The drivers are super friendly and very helpful. I had a taxi try to charge me $25 from Fort Lauderdale airport to Griffin Road versus my ride with Uber from Fort Lauderdale airport to Miami Gardens for the same price. I've used UBER for over two years now in different trips to Miami (as well as lYFT) and I find the Spanish speaking drivers to be , generally the best, but it IS difficult to understand many of them : the Cuban accent is very different from the one i'm used to here in LA()Mexican) and my hearing is terrible. However, when they speak Spanish to me, Ihave NO trouble and enjoy the luxury of speaking lousy street spanish and making myself understood. They are quite nice I still don;t understand why UBER does not let you add the tip on to the fare and I CERTAINY do not understand why nearly, if not ALL of the drivers had no idea where the Miami Airport Hilton was located -and having to rely On UBER GPS can be a royal pain But the one time either the GPS or the new driver (who was NOT HISpanic) managed to rack a bill of twice the amount as I had going out, UBER IMMEDIATELY reviewed the fare (I complained) and reduced it by half. SO THREE CHEERS FOR THAT!! Fares ARE reasonable but it's an odd crowd who drive for UBER in Miami. I want to add that I had one particularly VERY good Driver, Mohammed Mojadidi who was interesting, educated and knowledgeable: meaning he knew the back roads to get to the airport, and since it was rush hour I really appreciated that, plus the conversation. My experience with Uber this past week in Miami has been hit and miss. From one driver who ran a red light to a half dozen who had trouble communicating in English, to those with phone problems, to those who could not find basic landmarks, I've been very disappointed. The drivers here do not seem to know their way around the town and they can never find us based on where we drop out pin. And even after giving them precise instructions, some still have trouble. I visited Miami for a job interview and had two free Uber rides to use. I ended up taking a traditional cab back to my hotel near the media all center from South Beach. The regular cab was $10 more than the Uber ride was to get out there. I also was able to get an Uber ride to the airport at 430am (omg, I know..) For $12. They were fast to arrive, the cars were clean and the drivers were friendly! Be sure to check for price increases before you book it, the app will text you should the price surge end within 30minutes. For the past year I have attempted to use Uber in South Florida. Every time I get a driver who does not speak English and all they do is follow the GPS and you cannot communicate with them in anyway. Today was the worst experience the first driver couldn't find a place and when I approached her car she sped away. Then the second driver came and speaks zero English. I find this very unacceptable. Just got back from a trip to Miami beach. Used Uber several times and each time had a great ride. Didn't wait more then 3 minutes every time and each trip was at least 50% less then a cap ride. So I decided to use them while I was in Miami. I used them to and from airport and around south beach area. They were fast, and safe. Every driver was very nice. We booked a ride to the airport the night prior to our flight, we needed to be at FLL by 4:30. Our ride never showed, no way via the app to report it (just cancel). I've used Uber habitually in Seattle and Orlando with few issues. I will definitely go with a "real" taxi service next time. read more

Today was our 1st and last ride on Uber in Miami. We contacted them this morning to pick us up for a ride to the Cruise Port .We were assigned Gabriel and were given a total charge of $ 14.67 .After about 20 Minutes he called me and said his GPS wasn't working and needed he needed our location. When he finally arrived I noticed that the amount for the ride had increased to $18.51 After we started our ride we immediately noticed that he was taking us in the wrong direction but after about 8 blocks he realized his mistake and turned around . Communicating with him was diffucult because he spoke very little English. When we finally arrived at the port I tried to explain to him that there were 3 ships in port that day and we needed needed to find the one that said Navigator of the Seas. His solution was to drop us in the middle which caused us to walk about 200 yards to our ship. Then to finish off this adventure we just received our final bill which was increased again to $22.51. read more

Uber is trying to charge me $26.00 for a 6 mile ride. The Uber driver somehow changed my destination to be in Aventura which is 20 miles instead of 6 miles. Uber is not cooperating saying that is the correct price. I have been email as there is no phone number to speak with anyone. read more

This savings cost me my the love of my wife, the respect of my family and cancel fees of more than $500. I tested the service my requesting a ride the day before. Upon cancel I was billed $5 fine. I used Uber for the first time today. WAY better than a taxi or Supershuttle. I was at first hesitant because you can't prearrange a pickup. The cost was the same as Supershuttle, but with way better service. The cost was half of a taxi, but double or triple the customer service of a taxi. The app is very easy to use and my driver was there in 3-4 minutes. read more

The Uber driver I rode with yesterday made a fraudulent damage claim which Uber is upholding and charging me $200 for a 0.41 mile ride worth $5. I requested an Uber because it was pouring rain, I was in a hurry and I did not want to walk. When I got into the car I apologized to the driver, Stiven, for the rain and for the short distance. In violation of Uber's policy (https://help.uber.com/h/745d6325-5051-42ae-adeb-46a1391e4336) said that I should pay him in cash rather than through the app because he would only get a little bit of money from Uber for the fare. I have cash and already paid through the app. When we arrived at my destination he reminded me that I should give him five stars. I told him that I knew that I was supposed to review him but I didn't think that he was supposed to have asked me for cash. When I looked at my receipt today I realized that he has claimed that I made $200 worth of damage to his car. The only thing that I left in his car was rainwater. According to Uber's cleaning fee policy (https://help.uber.com/h/d99e0859-c1cf-4ac1-ab68-078d8216f0ac) "Cleaning fees are assessed and charged according to the extent of damage. There are 4 levels of severity from low to high". The HIGHEST level is "4. Significant amounts of bodily fluids (e.g. urine, blood, or vomit) in vehicle interior or messes that require cleaning between the window and door are charged $200." I sent a message to Uber disputing this cleaning fee and explaining that I did NO damage to the car, it was simply wet by rain water through the open door as I was getting in to the car. They responded with the following message: "Thanks for getting in touch, Lorraine. The mess that resulted from your trip required clean-up. Cleaning fees are assessed and charged according to the extent of damage. We've attached a photo from this incident. When this happens, drivers are unable to accept trips and must spend time cleaning up messes or having them cleaned instead of picking up riders. These fees are based on nationwide industry averages for professional cleaning and drivers receive the full cleaning fee that you are charged. If you'd like to provide additional details about this incident, please let us know. More information on cleaning fees is available on help.uber.com." The photos they attached depicted seats wet with rainwater. read more

Used über twice with friends and it was a cool and easy experience. We requested an uber car in brickell and it came quite quickly. The driver used his phone map but my friends know the area so they told the driver where to go. I would not use uber alone for safety reasons only with my friends. The first ride was an old van. And the 2nd ride was in a nice and new Chevy Tahoe. read more
