Uber is difficult to contact with a problem and supremely unhelpful. I gave two starts because the drivers for the most part have been fine but I would give less than one for Uber's customer service. One of us accidentally left our phone in an uber car. We were unable to immediately contact the driver because uber made it incredibly difficult to find any information online to contact without the app - which we couldn't contact under that account because phone = missing. Uber took too long to try to contact the driver and responded with a simple - driver couldn't find itt, we'll follow up if they contact us again. They refuse to do any additional step - such as looking to see if there were any other immediate riders afterwards, to maybe see if they could be contacted. To know the general locality (that is the only way to contact police departments to see if something has been turned in), etc. We felt really blown off. It was a simple two sentence message that they keep repeating. It strikes me as they really couldn't care less and have no desire to help facilitate finding a 400 phone. Do we assume the driver stole it? If it was just lost in the car, will the driver really take time to try to contact us through uber however long later? Will uber try to contact us? Frankly, I'm not even sure they took too much effort to even contact the driver. Worse, they told us if we think the driver is withholding the phone to file a police report against the driver. Without additional information how can we make that call? Should we let a 400 phone go because the driver might not have taken the phone and we don't want to put someone through that? Or do we file a police report against a driver who may just not have looked carefully enough, may not have been contacted or a different rider might have picked it up. They actually told us we could do nothing or we could file a police report against the driver. I was honestly disgusted they would throw their drivers in general under the bus like that. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm dropping a star. Thats a terrible way to treat drivers in general. The customer service is abysmal and just not worth the kind of financial or emotional loss that can happen if you accidently leave something in a driver car. read more

I needed a ride back home from the airport, and I used Uber instead of a taxi. I checked the app when I got outside the terminal, and there was already a driver waiting. My Uber driver was Joseph, and he was great! His car was nice and clean, and he had great conversation skills. Overall the trip from Dayton Airport to Fairborn came out to $29 before tip. (18 miles). I looked up the averages for a taxi ride from the Airport to my house with taxifarefinder's website. And the three averages I get were, ($54.74, $58.45, and $65.62). So it's a no brainer. I'll be using Uber instead of a taxi from now on. What I love about Uber, is that there isn't an Airport fee added on to your trip. Also, the drivers are more personable. And if you're always wondering, where the hell your taxi is, you can actually track your Uber driver through the app, so that you know EXACTLY where he is and how far he is from you. You're also able to track your route/distance through your app, and send the details of your route to other people. And, each driver has a rating between one to five stars ... like Yelp!. The trip history is stored online and in your app so you can see it months later. At any point in time, you can check your yelp app, just to see how many Uber drivers are in your area. I would totally recommend it! I was able to sign up with a code I found online: UBER15SAVINGS This gives first time users, $15 off their FIRST trip. Up until 8:13pm tonight I considered Uber to be a great service. Unfortunately at that time, they spammed me with politically motivated email with the subject line "Standing up against hate." Since I'm not a hateful person, and I don't believe any of their drivers I've encountered are hateful, I'm a bit puzzled of its origins and intention. "Standing up against hate" - well yes, duh - I don't need to be lectured. Bottom line is this, as far as I'm concerned they spammed me with junk mail on a politically toxic subject in the news 24/7, that I'm personally sick of hearing about. So, next time I'm in Las Vegas where I typically use the service, it's Lyft for me. I do know a number of people who use Uber due to my recommendation - that now comes to an end. We had a weird experience with Uber. It was my first. It seems the only bad experience anyone has ever had. We set up a guy to pick us up at a well-known location. We weren't even drunk. Just playing it safe so we could easily converse with the guy when he called and actually asked for directions to where we were. I told him the name of the bar. The cross streets. I could see him driving past us. I was wearing a bright color and told him to look to his side and tried to wave him down. This didn't work out. We cancelled him. Fail. One star. We walked to another location and tried again, in hopes of getting another driver. We did. He was awesome. He was five stars. Great conversation, great driver. Smart guy. I learned a lot about being an Uber driver. Also, don't puke. It's $250. Cancelling an Uber driver also costs money. I didn't know. Uber is a weird experience. After getting ripped off by the taxi service at the airport ($25 +) I opted for Uber the next morning for my return to the airport. The Uber driver, David was nice to talk to and his car - a Chevy Cruze was clean. The ride cost me only $10 , a welcomed surprise. I have him a tip because Uber doesn't allow you to tip. We had food delivered to our home for the first time a week ago. I had a long list of reasons why home delivery would be a terrible. For instance, I knew the food would be cold. I knew my order would be messed up, with no opportunity to correct anything. I knew the food portions would be smaller than usual. By far the worst thing meant the Uber driver would take his/her sample of our food, dirty hands and all. So, here's what actually happened: the food was hot, not lukewarm. Hot, including the soup! Everything we ordered arrived, no exceptions, with generous portions. Now for the biggie. Everything was in a tamper proof, sealed plastic bag! Uber Everything arrived on time, perfectly packed. Fabulous job, Uber Eats. Can't wait to do this again! read more

Some uber drivers are good and nice drivers but there's way to many that aren't and I think there should be cameras in every uber car, the sticker has to be on the front of car and it has many more things they could upgrade. read more

On August 24,2022 I took a trip to work. I was charged $9.90. Today August 31,2022 I was checking my bank account and noticed a charge for $150.00 that I didn't recognize. So I called my bank and talked to a banker. They told me that I was charged a $150 by Uber and they couldn't do anything at the moment because the charge was still pending. I checked my email and found an email from Uber that said that on August 24th I was charged a total of $159.90. This was because the driver Kevin tag # JSA1317 said that a mess was made in his car that needed cleaning. So Uber automatically takes his word and charges me without question. I was on a trip to work not out partying etc. I didn't make any mess in a 5 minute max trip. This young boy Kevin had trash in the back of his car on the floor like he had kids. He had to come around and open the door from the outside because it wouldn't open from the inside. He was very polite yes mamm etc when he picked me up. He stole $150 from me. So if he did it to me how many other innocent people is he trying to scam out of money. BEWARE OF THIS YOUNG PUNK. I will never use UBER ever again. read more

I live In New York City and this weekend came to Dayton to visit. I needed a car service to get to the UD Arena, I called all 3 that yelp recommends in the area and they each had a 20-25 minute wait. Now I know there is no place like home, but uber in dayton will save you. Don't even try the other taxi services just use uber they find u, and are prompted and reliable. Coming from a New York girl I like everything, Fast! The quote one of the places I called was even higher than what I paid with Uber. So trust me set up your account you will not be disappointed. The single best thing that has happened to Dayton. Don't bother with the almost nonexistent cab service here in the Miami Valley.

Better than a regular yellow cab any day. No payment hassles, don't have to deal with finding change for tips. Cars used are usually personal, so are usually clean. read more

I'm a driver and Uber treats its drivers poorly. The app doesn't always work causing it to glitch. There have been times I've driven to pick someone up and they're not there so I have to cancel on my end. Being that we don't get paid for the ride to the passengers a 30 minute drive for a $0-3 cancelation is ridiculous. Then they claim that I denied 59 rides in less then 15 minutes while I was on a drive and had a ride in queue. If anyone knows this is not how it works and there was no way I had that many rides come in. Uber refuses to fix my acceptance rate and dropped me from a platinum status to a blue. Then Uber eats is even worse. Just in the last two weeks I've driven to steak and shake in south Dayton to pick up orders at 4 am and it was closed. I was always told policy was to call it in and let them know. Now they claim I'm committing fraud by calling to let them know this location has been closed late nights. All they would have to do is call the store but no they turn around and make it look like it's the drivers fault. Then they send nasty grams to the driver through email and Uber app. No thank you this driver has about had it with this company. No more eats driving for sure. Find someone else who wants to get treated like crap and wants to drive all over without pay. read more

I just completed my first Uber ride ever here in Dayton. I was quite pleased until after I left the car. My driver, Rogers Butana, picked me up promptly in a nice clean car. He was very polite, offered up a nice conversation, and got me safely to my destination. My complaint, is that I asked him if tips were included in the fee I was paying. He said they were not included. He said that I could not tip through the app, cash only he said. So I paid him an extra $5 and he gave me his cell number to call him on Sunday to get a ride back to the airport. I went on-line to right a nice review when I found out that tips are included and not necessary. This ruined the whole experience for me. I will not be calling him for a ride on Sunday. If I decide to use Uber again, I'll know not to tip. It's truly a shame that for $5 he couldn't be honest with me. Shame on you Rogers, shame on you. read more
