I try to look at the bigger picture...sometimes it's just not "them", but rather a snowball and/or domino effect. However, individuals working for United really need to take a look in the mirror sometimes...would they want to be treated this or that way? That said, the worst thing that happened to us once was our flight being delayed and when I inquired about our connecting flight, I was told all flights were "all" delayed (including Chicago--where our layover was). Then a half hour later (give or take), we were told all flights were leaving on time from Chicago...but here we sit in Dayton waiting on our delayed flight. I asked if they could put us on a different connecting flight since we wouldn't make it since the flight was still leaving late out of Dayton, but they simply wouldn't help me and stated we could make it once we got to Chicago. Reality is, when we landed in Chicago we had 5 mins from the time the seatbelt light was turned off to make our connection, and hello...you know how long it takes to get off the plane! And for extra entertainment, we had to change terminals. I suppose if we were genies we could have made it. Plus, they close the boarding too. So, we missed our connecting flight. Why wouldn't they help us in Dayton? It's beyond me, but I suppose the little guy has a big guy telling them not to. Seemed pretty obvious to me though...they could have at least inquired, but didn't and chose not to help us...period...dot. Of course, the folks in Chicago weren't any better, worse in fact, and I got accused of not inquiring in Dayton to change flights...grrr. I fly into Dayton a lot since I am from Ohio and visit family often. From this said experience I try to book a longer layover because I know they simply will not help if something happens or I take a different airline home. I will say though, they are always friendly when checking in and if you have simple questions they are helpful and always wish you a nice flight. The other area I would like to address is the baggage claim. This cracks me up! Most of the time the planes are the small ones flying into Dayton...you know the ones. Therefore, it doesn't take much to get off those planes and get the luggage to baggage claim. I don't know about you, but I normally gotta tinkle when I get off the plane and I don't take long...then I head to baggage claim. Well...then all I see is my bag in the doorway to the United baggage claim office. I go to get it, thank them, and apologize. I always get the eye roll, sometimes the heavy sigh too, and/or the evil death look. Like dang, they had to do something. I used to say Mother Nature called, but I don't even bother joking anymore since they are just so put out for doing anything. It's funny to me. I like United Airlines, but you can do better United. Just because you are a small airport and may not be as busy...that doesn't mean the flyers/customers matter any less.

The plane had a panel that needed repairs!! My flight TO Dayton from Chicago was delayed...my previous flights were delayed and on one I had to listen to 2 flight attendants complain about passengers!! Loud enough for us to hear obviously, they need to be retrained in customer service. Another flight delay with United occurred when the plane had an issue with fueling, which prompted a passenger to want to deplane, which caused yet another delay! Get it together United!! So disappointing!!! UPDATE...WE ARE NOW ON THE RUNWAY WAITING ON CLEARANCE BECAUSE OF WINDS IN CHICAGO ..perhaps if the plane didn't have a panel to repair that took an hour to fix we would have been in Chicago already.

    Bravo AA! I was…read moreimpacted by Southwest foolishness. After 3 cancelations and the audacity of them to maybe book me by Saturday Dec 31 was a joke. So I booked a flight with AA, said a prayer and prayed all night that my flight will not have delays. All smooth sailings I had to get to Dayton, Airport. Smooth sailing went to TSA. Here they are frisky. I got frisked by some old lady. Had to remove my boots. Some Airports you don't. Patted me down, and do a turn and all. Checked in, and waited to board. They have a smooth process. Not confusing crap like SW. Flight was on time, like Ashanti says. Nice flight crew. In fact they had valet check in. So any carry on that can't fit under the seat they give you a claim tix and you pick up on your way out. I like that, it allows ppl to exit more smoothly. Good snacks on the plane. Comfy seats, recline and space. Definitely will use AA as my first option. made it my first stop and then BWI. Happy Shelly.

There's…read moremay a handful of nice ones and a few good "do their job ones" but several just absolutely rude. It reminds me of a time where the manager came out screaming at me and then after hearing my explanation (long story) she agreed with me. But it was indicative of a culture where the customer isn't top priority. With that said, Pam and Elizabeth are the best. The AA flight attendants are great too (probably not from this airport or different management). Again, I don't think this is across the board, just this airport.

    This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I was staying with a school group competing in…read morea competition in town. We had reserved 11 rooms to accommodate the team and some of the parents. I could write volumes here but I'll try to summarize things: the rooms were filthy, every surface was covered in dirt and grime. Many of the bed sheets were stained as well as most of the furniture in the rooms. One of the couches had human fluids all over it. There was what appeared to be mold in the bathroom and the door handle was about to fall off. One of the light bulbs in the bathroom vanity was missing the outer glass portion so the filament was exposed. The ceiling and room vents were covered in brown dirt/filth. There was a terrible stench in the room with a strong mixture of old rags and marijuana. We slept in our clothes the first night and then had to purchase new sheets and pillows from the local Walmart just to feel somewhat secure that we were not touching the mattress or the hotel sheets. There was a very powerful storm during the week and many of the rooms leaked and one room had a very significant leak causing pooling water in most of the room as well as major ceiling damage. Some of the other parents opted to leave and find other options but since there was a large event in town, there were no other options to move such a large group so we had to stay there, continually spraying everything down with Lysol and Clorox. The customer service was also terrible. The lady at the front desk with the pink hair who was working when we checked in was very rude, defensive and difficult to interact with. I've included some photos of our room, they definitely don't resemble those that are posted on the hotel website. If you have a choice between staying at this hotel or in your car, I would go with the latter.

    I had the worse experience here, first of all it was freezing cold the entire time I was there the…read moreheat didn't work at all just the cold air, before I checked out I made sure I straighten up and I also took trash out so then fast forward to 2 days after checking out I check my bank statements and it had that I was charged 100$ from Hawthorn so I called and asked them why was my card charged they said because when the cleaning lady went in the hotel was a mess and there was skittles and feathers all over the room which was an absolute lie because I literally did a walk through and it was almost spotless . then I proceed to ask do she have proof of the mess or pictures she gone say no but the housekeeper not going to lie basically saying I'm lying, and then said she doesn't like my tone and I said lady you upset because I'm frustrated you act like you are the one with money getting took she gone say that sounds like a YOU problem smh but what's crazy that's what they pay housekeeping for to clean and vacuum and sweep stuff which I'm 98 percent sure she didn't see a whole floor full of skittles and feathers but anyway then I asked for corporate number she said no figure it out she don't like my tone she not giving me nothing, so then I told her I would be up there so I called the police and let them know the situation and they said they would meet me so when I got there I approached the desk and asked was she the one I talked to she proceed to come at me rudely saying I'm not dealing with you get out and fanned me away and started calling the cops as I was letting her know I already called. she was extremely rude and I don't recommend booking there. and she started screaming at me saying go dispute my charge and shut up get out of her hotel smh I am now trespassed from there for 2 years plus all of the hotels on miller lane due to one individual that wanted to be a Karen (Privileged) that day. I didn't know her name at all this whole entire time until the cops gave it to me, they said her name was LISA and she is white lady with pink hair and a total BITCH, she wouldn't even give me her name smh. That hotel needs new staff and needs to update badly the carpet needs replacing, the kitchen floors need redone and the shower as well. Whoever the owner is of that hotel needs to indeed fire her because the cops said that was not the first time they had to come there due to Lisa and a customer. I recorded my encounter with her and posted it on Tik Tok and fb simply so people can see what type of disgusting individual she is.
