This koa is a stay at a manicured botanical garden which happens to have campsites and a pool. Glorious! The staff were also super friendly when ridiculous laundry concerns happen: for no good reason my quarter jammed in the washer slot, but Jeremy managed to deal with it quickly. When my ball jar shattered (great for holding laundry pods at home, but a foolish of me to take on the road), the office staff (A- name I forgot, but prompt and even pleasant) heard and came running. If you need help, it's here. You can rent a swan paddle boat or golf cart, but the pool (10-8 pm) and sluice are incredible. I didn't see a K9 Kamp but our pup loved walking around the ponds. The gazebos near the entry definitely set the tone for this restful visit. Pollinating flowers are all around! The firewood was marked up, so maybe bring your own certified Ohio firewood. This is a KOA Holiday but with Journey proximity since you are very close to the interstate but have minimal interstate sounds, and it isn't an expedition to find the park. The staff are present all over, and the store is a great amenity/souvenir mix. This was a recommended stop, and we're glad we did. We would skip the firewood (park markup), but it was quickly delivered to our site at least. read more

Leaf blowers to the right of us, wood chippers to the left, we charged straight outta there! Lovely park, our second visit in a month (one nighters on our way to and from VT). We had to bail the second time tho bc it was "park clean up day" and the noise of leaf blowers and wood chippers was too much. After a long day on the interstate, we just wanted to enjoy a beautiful Fall day, but it was deafening, couldn't relax or even have a conversation, and forget the guitar... Horrible really. Dayton KOA - Campgrounds Near Me - Brookville, Ohio

I wasn't happy with this campground. It is pretty and the grounds are well maintained. I twisted my ankle in a hole near my cabin which put a damper on the trip near the end. Our reservation was mixed up with my brothers reservation. My sister's camping spot was not marked and she wasn't able to park at her site. She had to search and pay for another site. The place is cared for and monitored by teenagers at all times. They ride golf carts everywhere, some much faster than others. Children play in the street while traffic constantly drives through. We couldn't have two cars at our site. I have camped in a bunch of other campgrounds. This place had more rules than any I've ever been to. No food in the pool, even though it's dirty. Pool closes at 8:45. No extra tents in one site. Even though you pay for the site with the communal sleeping arrangement, the kids like to put up their own little tents for fun. No clothes lines to dry clothing or hang food or trash like other places. Quiet time at 10 p.m. No cooking our smoking(which I like) in the cabin. We did have a cooling unit, a television and a small refrigerator. No outside firewood. It's$8 for like six pieces. (Ridiculous) At one point the refrigerator quit during the night. The next night our things were frozen. The showers were like frozen ice water two of the four times I showered. Two tiny children were screaming their heads off because the pool just shut down and they had to have a shower before bed, otherwise the mosquitos would have eaten them alive. The pool was extremely cloudy and filled with dirt spiders and mosquitos. You'd think with all the rules the pool would have been sparkly clean. You aren't allowed to have any food inside of the enclosure. There's a couple of tables and a bunch of lay out beach chairs. Many people had alcohol inside and there weren't any consequences. The pool shuts down at 8:45p.m. Even though is still light outside. Even though there are lights in the pool. Even though it's to hot to do anything else. I would've liked to have a small cooler inside. That was disappointing. Why not have a rule to take your things with you and clean up. One selling point for me to spend$100 a night in a tiny box with two beds was there was going to be a carnival for the children with lots of activities that Saturday. Not knowing that all of those activities costs extra. They even charged us a higher rate because our children were there during this weekend, whether they planned to participate or not. NOTHING IS INCLUDED IN THIS PRICE. The carnival consisted of a "hayride", a tractor with a wagon that was free for about 30min. Twice around the campground. They had a table set up with obout six games for the children to play. The kids didn't even get excited about them. Not many participated. The doughnuts offered at 9:30 on Saturday were there, old, and not complementary. Not my idea of a carnival weekened. read more

Nice rv park but very pricey for a overnight stay. Management please take note that the tree branches need to be trimmed asap for other tall RVs. Our rig, driving in, hit several hanging branches. We stayed overnight and didn't get to enjoy all the amenities. We ate at a place called Robs and it was very good. read more

If I could give this camp ground more than 5 stars, I would! This place is simply wonderful! From the super helpful, friendly staff to the immaculately manicured landscape...this place ROCKS (and, FYI, the shower house earns 5 stars on own!)! There is SO much to do here (IF you choose) - for families and for those without children! Wow! This is what a campground should look like. Very friendly staff. Lots of amenities for the kids and family. I wish we had more time to spend here. It looks like a great place to stay for a long weekend or more. I'm definitely going to plan a way to stay here for a longer period then just passing through overnight. I'll note if you are passing through, this probably isn't the best choice. I have a full sized Ram 2500 with long bed and a 29' trailer. The short pull through campsites required I unhook my tow vehicle. This was the first campground I went to between Colorado and Delaware (this trip) which I had to do this. read more

This place sucks. Drive an hour out of my way and way overpaid for a terribly unlevel campsite just so my daughter could go to the pool. And they closed it because it had been sprinkling out. Ridiculous!! read more

This campground is clean and well kept, the restrooms are very clean and well kept. The staff is very accommodating. But it stops there the sites are WAY WAY to tight and in sites without a driveway your neighbors like to crowd your space! Even to the point that you can't have a campfire safely. If your city folk this is your campground over crowded and not enough restrooms for the 1000 people in here. They need another restroom or two some must walk 1/4 mile to restroom as much money as they make they can afford it. read more

Definitely one of my favorite KOAs. This was our second trip. Unfortunately it rained Saturday so we didn't get to do much around the campground this time. Lots of activities for everyone, paddle boats, mini golf, movie nights, etc. The campground is huge with lots of pull through sites. The wifi is the best I've had at any campground. The communal bathrooms are clean and well maintained and even though we have a shower in our camper I opted for theirs. My only complaint is the noise. Our neighbors were completely loud and obnoxious, outside until 11:30pm talking, laughing, and playing music. And they weren't even young people, it was middle aged adults with late grade school/middle school kids. The quiet hours are obviously not enforced. The Wright Patterson AFB isn't far and admission is free if you're looking for something to do in the area. The 4th building is now open and they have a retired Air Force One in there along with other presidential planes you can walk through. read more

It's a beautiful place but it's so packed and hard to maneuver around. The overcrowding and small spaces you are left with aren't as enjoyable as they should be. I've just traveled from California and stayed at KOAs along the way and this one is by far the worst. Wish you didn't try and pack people in like sardines and gave people space. read more

This was the worst late-night check in experience I've ever had, and trust me, I've had a lot. There were no maps available at all, and I had to steal one off of a golf cart, but it didn't help me anyway. The campsites seemed to be numbered completely at random, and it was impossible to find anything on the map. At checkout we told them about our bad experience and were not offered any sort of discount. Nice pool, but not worth it. read more

This place is impressive. Clean large restrooms/ showers. A nice pool and fishing lake. Train rides, hayride, bikes, mini golf and more for kids. There is a counter service restaurant with pizza and ice cream. All day long employees were going around cleaning, picking up and helping guests. This was our 2nd stay here in less than a year. Initially we had a small problem with our reservation that the owner personally handled and made it right. I appreciated that he is on top of things, especially customer service. Our stay was as great as the first. Even had the same site as before. Long level pull thru, full hookups. Interior roads are a little tight but manageable. They escorted us to our site. Nice shade. Awesome water pressure. Trash is picked up multiple times a day. We would've stayed a couple days longer but they were full. This park is usually busy so reservations are a must. Very family friendly with lots of amenities and kids activities. This KOA was well maintained nice landscaping and bathrooms were kept clean. The fire pits were very clean also.The cost was high $52 per night for only 30 amp service this is by far the most we ever paid camping. If you are in sites 300 to 312 I-70 freeway is directly behind you and you have trouble talking to someone 10 feet away, also it is near pool and they play music til about 9 o'clock at night. The campers themselves were very quiet. The sites do not have privacy between them and they are close but not real close. If there was privacy between campsites, lower cost, and the freeway noise was not there it would be a five. read more

Excellent park. 1/2 star off for ease of parking, sites were really tight and we had to pull thru an empty spot in front of Our site to get out, we were praying no one Parked in there overnight, we would have been stuck in our site til Someone moved. 1/2 star off for cafe burgers and fries..... Had to wait 45 mins, they forgot to cook our order. The park is clean, bathhouse clean, pool clean, grounds immaculate. A bit pricey. read more

Usually a good albeit expensive campground. Apparently though if you don't want to party, you shouldn't stay on an October weekend. They have night security, but they don't patrol. We had plenty of space on campsite 408 (no hookups). You can lightly hear the interstate in the distance if that would be one thing I mention. I would definitely be back in a heartbeat! read more

Had only previously camped anywhere as a child. This was an incredible first impression for KOA. The only complaint I have is that the tent campsites are a little small. But the amenities, bathrooms, activities, and facilities they have, made up for it in my opinion. And whatever bug treatment or prevention they are doing is fantastic. You will still need bug spray to ward off mosquitoes, but otherwise we didn't see any bugs. Having camped in a friend's back yard since then, I can say that it's more than worth the money just to not have to deal with all the bugs. The bathrooms we had access to from our site were immaculate and even had a TV in them. They got a little crowded in the evening hours but that's cuz everyone was washing off all the bug spray and sweat cuz it had been a rather humid day. Nothing too terrible though. They will deliver firewood to your campsite. They will also deliver food from the cafe to your campsite if they are backed up enough on their orders. The little store seems to have most everything you would need in a pinch. Snacks, hygiene, replacement stakes and tarps. Even blankets and a decent amount of RV items like replacement light bulbs and stuff. Would definitely camp at this location again. read more

The campground was filled to capacity with many children, and groups talking/drinking into the late evening. RV camp sites were close together, and slightly muddy. The WiFi connection was weak at our site. The campground may be a great weekend get-away for Dayton families with children, but not a destination for us...too crowded. Excellent campground with polite accommodating staff. Really level camp sites with concrete slabs under picnic tables so that you need never walk through mud while camping. This is a very nicely maintained campground with many amenities. There was even a pig roast while we were there, which was delicious. The campground was near full but never noisy. The only gripes we have are that it's really really tight. The roads, the camp sites- everything is jammed together. We were amazed some of the huge rigs even got in there! Also, for $60 a night (full hookups) they shouldn't charge for the putt putt or pancake breakfast. They don't allow firewood brought in, then charge $8 a bundle. but overall it was a nice place and we would return if we're in the area. read more

This was by far the best campground we've ever stayed in. Lots of amenities and the nicest bathrooms ever. All ceramic tiles. Not the largest sites but wish we stayed longer. Will definitely be back. Would recommend this to everyone. Great Sunday pancake breakfast too for only $6. By the way we've camped for over 40 years. read more

We made a 3 hour drive to the Dayton area for a weekend trip. This was our first ever stay at a KOA. This campground was much nicer than expected. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There were lots of activities for the kids and the whole place was very family friendly. We have a 33ft travel trailer and the roads can be pretty narrow to navigate with a larger RV. Luckily we had a pull through site near the office so it wasn't as big an issue, but was still a bit tight. Campground was clean and the office and cafe were very nice. Bathrooms were clean and modern. They had a group campfire and free hot dogs the second night we were there. We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked another weekend in June. Highly recommend for families with kids. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway, this may not be the best place for you. read more

Cabin 701 - We just returned home after a weekend of camping at Dayton KOA. Overall the programming and common facilities were nice. However once arriving we were very unhappy with the cleanliness of the cabin. The cabin smelled of rotten food as soon as we opened the door. There was rotten food in the fridge and in the sink. There was food, like popcorn which is very visible, on the table and window ledges. Nothing has been wiped down and there was dog hair all over the floors. I spent an hour cleaning the cabin with my limited supplies before I would even let my daughter in. In addition the plates and cups were filthy as well. This was our vacation so its disappointing to spend so much time cleaning just to get to enjoy ourselves. Its very apparent the cabin had not really been cleaned all year based off the amount of dirt stuck along the base boards and on the cabinets. I fully acknowledge that we were staying in a cabin and by no means except it to be spotless however for $240 a night I do except that the the rotten food be removed from fridge and sink and the surfaces be wiped down and the floor swept. Someone had came into the cabin since the last guest and changed linens so that was at least good. In addition the thermostates batteries were corroded and needed to be replaced which a maintenance person did bring us so we do appreciate that. In addition the door did not stay shut and after working on it I was able to resolve that issue. Growing up we always stayed at KOAs because they are known for their cleanliness. This is my first time at the Dayton KOA and I am disappointed in the cleanliness. I hope this email will help the management of this KOA step up their game and take care of their facilities. **Update - I received a blanket statement from corporate saying I'd have to work out my concerns with local KOA, Local KOA was contacted first and have never heard back from them. read more

Very nice campground to stay at, the deluxe cabin that I rented was nice and clean and fully updated with all the necessities needed for a comfortable stay.The only thing I needed to bring to the cabin was our clothes and food. It had a full size fridge, microwave, stove top, coffee pot and toaster. And it had a nice size fully filled gas grill on the patio to cook on, and patio furniture which included a table and chairs. It also had a good fire ring with an attached movable grill top that you can grill on if you prefer charcoal grilling.I also noticed that we did not have any problems with raccoons, that you sometimes have at campgrounds.And they have plenty of things to do for the kids. I have 3 grandchildren that range in ages from 6-12, and there was something to do for each age group. I plan on bringing the kiddos back there in the future, I highly recommend this place to everybody,especially if you have children, whether you stay in a cabin or tent, its a good family oriented campground and well maintained. read more

This place is clean and well maintained. The restrooms are very nice. I have never seen restrooms that nice at a campground. Staff was friendly. I have 3 small complaints but they would not stop me from staying here again. 1) our site was un level left to right but not enough our jacks did not work. We thought we were going to have to block them up but we didn't, so that really is not a issue. My guess is most other campers will have to use blocks. Most of the other sites looked level. 2) the entrance is dark at night. We almost missed the drive and slamming on the brakes is not fun. It looks like their sign may light up but it was not lit the night we got there. It needs to be. 3) we went to get pizza and the place was empty except for 2 employees sitting at a table that seated 6. When we left the place was full and the same employees were taking up the biggest table there. Why they would not let the customers that needed a bigger table have it is inconsiderate and rude. 2 employees don't need a table for 6. read more
