Tried to get an Uber here in Albuquerque. They suck. 6 times no show. Downloaded Lift and eight minutes later a Lift driver was there.

Lyft - At the airport after using Uber to get here on time.

It gave me the option to provide a tip prior to the ride. I'm 78 years young I do not tip until provided great service. Not surprisingly, two hours before my ride, Lyft cancelled my ride. If you're a senior or anyone got that matter, I would not use Lyft because they cannot be trusted. They can only be trusted if you allow them to lift your wallet!

The driver Matthew that picked me up at the doctor's office looked like he crawled out of a bag of rags; entirely disheveled in appearance, unshaven and untrimmed. I could tell he might be a problem when I expressed doubt that he could fit my walker into his trunk and he swaggered and said it would be fine because he could "fit 5 dead bodies in my trunk." I said, "let's not," feeling a bit creeped out by his analogy. When it became apparent that he was wrong and he could not fit it in his trunk, he seemed unusually angry, simply because he had been wrong. But that was nothing compared to what he did later. I did my best to present a light and happy demeanor, and expressed how glad I was that he had figured out how to squeeze the big walker into the back seat instead of the trunk. I blamed everything on the Insurance company that placed the order because we had asked for an SUV. He moved a dirty canvas bag from the front passenger seat, jacked up his loud rock music and we were on our way. I had a terrible headache, as I had fasted all day and I really wanted to ask him to turn off the darn radio but he was so hostile I was afraid to ask him to turn it off but I DID have to ask him if he would please wear a mask because I am medically fragile, as I am between caregivers to care for me if I should get sick. He went into a cold fury when I offered him the cellophane-sealed N95 mask. I was already wearing one myself. He refused to wear it, saying, "I'm not going to do that." I asked him, "aren't you required to wear one if I ask?" and he answered "no," which surprised me, so I decided to call my insurance company who arranged the ride to see if they could provide a different one. I didn't know how I was going to manage that, since we were already in traffic. I was trying to place a call but the music was blaring, and I am blind in one eye and was having trouble reading the screen, especially since his driving was erratic. He was careening back and forth and haranguing me loudly, despite my having asked him not to talk to me so I could make a call. When I opened my phone to call my insurance company to see if I could get a different ride, he got angrier and angrier. He kept saying, "If you want to get out I will pull over right here!" I told him, no I just want to make this phone call. He had his rock music blaring and it was hard to think. He kept trying to interrupt my ability to make a call by talking at me and I asked him to stop talking to me so I could make my phone call. He refused. He bragged that he had a 5 star rating, and I told him I would not be giving him 5 stars. He gunned the engine, screamed into an abandoned parking lot near an overpass in a bad section of town and started yelling at me to get out of his car, using awful language. I was slow getting out of the car because I am disabled and in shock so he kept yelling at me. There were two witnesses that came out from a building at the back of the lot. I finally got out of the car, with no help from him, and stumbled over to my walker where he had thrown it to the pavement, then he yelled at me and hurled a filthy name at me while he got into his car and fled the scene. Fortunately, although the parking lot was mostly abandoned, two women witnessed this alarming event. The two of them came over to me and encouraged me to come inside the building because it was a very unsafe part of town. They kept looking from side to side, as if expecting someone to drive up and attack us. God bless those two ladies! I was in shock and in tears and they walked me slowly to the building at the back of the lot and locked the door behind us. By the time they had gotten to me, I had already called my friend to come pick me up and give me a ride from the other side of town. She has a sick husband and a mother in the hospital and she's a teacher at the church I used to attend, so it was a miracle she was available, God bless her. Later I noticed that driver Matthew had CANCELLED the ride so I could not review him for what he did. I imagine he does that whenever a ride goes badly. They call it "hiding" the ride. They pretend it has been cancelled and that they did not have you in their car. That's probably how he keeps his ratings up. Anyway, it was a terribly traumatic event. When a man brutalizes a disabled, half-blind old woman, it is a shameful thing. I have asked all my friends to pray for any women, disabled, or elderly person who might take a ride with him in future.

I was going to ask around among the other companies and the driver told me that the airport rates are the same for all other companies at the airport. After a long day of travel delays I was exhausted and desperately wanted to get home so I paid $15 for a ride that was under a mile. When I called the company the next day to ask their rates I was told $10. Clearly they lie and do what they can to financially exploit travel weary people. I am usually fairly savvy and am rather embarrassed that I fell prey to this greedy company. Save your money and please do not give Green Cab any of it. Go with a company that has transparent rates that don't change when the driver feels that they can get away with wringing more from you in moments of need. If you are using cash make sure they are using some sort of meter that you can see and that they operate while you are getting a ride. Insist on a receipt so that you have documentation of what you paid. I am assuming that my money went directly into that drivers pocket, tax free. I'd give Green Cab negative stars if I could, but this will have to suffice.
