Waves & Woodlands is truly a gem. Our children are deeply known as individuals, respected,…read morenurtured, and inspired. The program is rooted in nature-based learning, using our local natural spaces as the classroom and curriculum. Our son learns through hands-on exploration, imaginative play, and real-world experiences, developing curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a genuine connection to the environment. Rain or shine, the kids are outside discovering the seasons, observing plants and animals, building with natural materials, and learning to take thoughtful risks. It has fostered resilience, creativity, and confidence in a way that I truly believe can't be replicated indoors. The teachers' balance of gentle structure and child-led exploration allows our son to learn at his own pace and challenge himself, while still feeling supported and guided. The teachers are absolutely exceptional--patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about childhood education and nature-based learning. They skillfully scaffold learning moments that emerge organically from the children's interests, helping them build academic curiosity, peer cooperation, and respect for one another and the natural world. Communication with families is thoughtful and consistent, and it's clear that the teachers view parents as true partners in their child's growth. The daily pictures and description we receive tell the story of the day through our child's eyes, and serve as a foundation for dinnertime discussion. Since joining Waves & Woodlands we've seen remarkable growth in our son's independence, creativity, and social-emotional skills. This program has given our son a strong foundation academically, socially, and environmentally. The dirtier the clothes, the bigger the smiles at "adventure school"! We feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a special community and recommend Waves & Woodlands without hesitation.

In the last few months my son has learned letters, numbers, and most importantly how to play with others. He loves being outside and begs to go to school every day. She was extremely hands-on, professional, patient, and amazing with the kids from start to finish. The amount of artwork and activities available kept everyone engaged, and we absolutely loved the Japanese-inspired artwork and overall vibe of the studio. I was honestly surprised to learn this place is a nonprofit. For about $250 for 15 kids, it felt like a great value. Unfortunately, three kids didn't show up, but the setup still worked out perfectly. The layout is on the smaller side, so I wouldn't recommend too many adults, but it created a cozy atmosphere where everyone could still enjoy themselves comfortably. One of the best parts was being able to bring our own food. We had pizza, and because we're Filipino, we also brought pancit and lumpia, which everyone enjoyed. The location was convenient as well. Parking was decent for the middle of the day, and having a dollar store right next door was perfect for grabbing a few last-minute party items. Overall, the two-hour party felt like two minutes because the kids were having such a great time. We enjoyed art, pizza, cake, and quality family time together. Highly recommend Studio Ace for a fun, creative, and stress-free kids' party experience!

The kids and I passed by often going to the library and they have free coloring pages hanging outside in a creative way. So to get to take classes after a year of passing it by, well my only regret is not enrolling them earlier. Check it out! Last class (an hour long) hubby and I had a little early dinner together next to the art studio. There's two teachers and a large window and kids completed fun art pieces I've not seen before. And I've been doing art for decades. So much fun!

This is your sign to try something new!…read more As a serial hobbyist, I'm always looking for something new to try out. Sewing has been on my list for a while and I decided to take a beginner's workshop at Bubs. It was the BEST time! Just a couple of girls getting crafty for 2 hours- gushing over cute fabrics and swapping sewing tips. Our instructor was great- encouraging us to get creative. The workshop can be as hands on or hands off as you want- ask for help if you need or take the space to work independently. We made the most adorable cinch pouches!
