While there are some aspects that I might disagree with, I strongly feel that US Taekwondo College deserves a 5 star rating. One of the most amazing aspects of this particular dojang is that Great Grand Master Lee, a ninth degree black belt, is the leader of this school. He was born, raised and learned Taekwondo in Korea. He is passing along this knowledge first hand; an uncommon opportunity 5,000 miles away from the birthplace of Taekwondo.
Children: This is a great place for kids. They encourage kids to do their best at the dojang (gym) and outside of it as well. Kids have so much fun in class, get great exercise, gain new skills, and learn some Korean words. Finally, this is a very inclusive environment that has many different children of many different ages and abilities. It doesn't matter if the child is a preschooler or in high-school, or if the child is athletically inclined or challenged with their gross motor skills. The instructors are great at working with children of all abilities. Added bonus: the kids absolutely adore all of the instructors!
Adults: Whether you like to train hard, or you are new to fitness/martial arts, the dojang is able to accommodate you. They have a rotating schedule, so that you are always learning/practicing something new. Plus they have a variety of class times, helping to accommodate many different schedules Finally, they don't just emphasize the martial practices of Taekwondo, but also stress discipline, etiquette, respect, and self-confidence.
Families: Because of everything I've said above, this dojang is an awesome place for the whole family. It's a great activity to do together, and something that can be done from the very young on up to grandparents. It's rare to find something that everybody can share in and feel good at, but this place fits the bill. I strongly recommend going in and giving them a try! read more
