Wish it was possible to give zero stars. There is always a huge line here and although there are multiple registers or cashier stations there's only ever 1 person working behind the counter. The lady behind the counter is very nice, I can't imagine how she deals with the endless line of customers all by herself without getting frazzled. As much as the Post Office charges she should have some help.

Slowest post office on the Planet Earth. Like Pony Express slow. I walked over 3 skeletons from people that died while waiting in line.

Now if I could only be able to pick up my packages here. Think I can make an appeal to the postal service?? Silver Spring post office is such a headache. This place is a pure breeze.

I went in with a box containing a pair of boots I ordered from a vendor through Amazon. I had printed out the label I received from the vendor and the paper from Amazon reflecting the return approval statement and bar code. I asked the person behind the counter what I needed to do. She admonished me for not being prepared as if I were a child. I Told her that I wasn't sure what I needed to do, and if she told me what I needed to do, I would do it. All the while, she was preparing the box to be mailed. She went on to say that she didn't believe I didn't know what to do because everyone knows how to mail packages. I assured her I would not lie to her. By this time, she finished preparing the package and handed me a receipt. I told her I was sorry that she was so angry. She said too much. She could have told me what to do and had me step to the side so I would not hold up the line. The worse thing was how she spoke to me. She was rude, condescending and seemed intent on trying to humiliate and embarrass me. Instead, she just made a fool of herself. Worse, her behavior made public servants look bad. Her statement opining on what everyone knew was surprising. How would she know what everyone knows. Her conduct as a public servant was uncalled for and most inappropriate. I know it is a tough time for federal government workers, but it is not the public's fault. I noticed several similar comments on yelp about the rude behavior of employees at this post office. Perhaps the employees need sensitivity or anger management training.

I am a "old soul" or like a "old man" at heart when it comes to the US Post Office and even Banks…read more I still do my banking in the branches not on-line, pay bills by mail, send packages standard, and most of all.....I love going into the US Post Office stores to buy stamps and hold up the line to select the ones that I want to collect. On a Saturday morning I got to be the youngest guy in line amongst a bunch of seniors waiting for this location to open. I even got a PO Box! I tend to make it to this location occasionally on a weekend run. There is not much to be said about this location, except for it is convenient. As for the staff and mail clerks at this location, they are okay to deal but there is a bit of the "ghetto" factor in the customer service they provide and their attitudes. The mail clerks have the "Oh God....What does he/she want!?"...look on their faces as soon as you walk in. It's kind of funny and sad at the same time. So don't expect a "Welcome!" and "Smile" when you first walk into this place. Nonchalant or non-enthusiastic is the best way to characterize the staff here. LOL! For example...I walked in last weekend right at the time they had opened the doors. At that very same time I walked up to the counter to ask for some stamps. The mail clerk interrupted me and said..."Well before I get the stamps...give this to the lady over there (in a Big Mama..sassy voice..lol)" To make a long story short, the mail clerk behind the counter gave me a cashier tray....full of cash...to give to her coworker over in the gift store section....because both of them were to lazy to leave their post to simply just walk over to each other for this exchange; while opening that morning. I had to laughed and even at this moment I am typing this, I am SMDH because luckily she sensed I was a good person. But, given the location of the post office, the mail clerk may want to think twice about doing something like that again with someone else. This kind of carelessness, poor customer service and laziness is what is impacting the operations, closings and deficits of all the US Postal Services today; and it starts with their staff! Too bad they don't realize it.

Horrible customer service. Worst USPS I have ever visited, staff is rude and incompetent…read more Go to any other office, even if it's out of the way.

Customer service was great at this location. I went here yesterday for the first time to inquire…read moreabout passport services. I spoke with a staff member who was Asian, I'm sorry I didn't get his name but he was so helpful in answering my questions and explaining the process. I was impressed and appreciative. I went back today with my documents and a young lady named Shawnte assisted me. OMG, she was so pleasant and helpful, she patiently took care of my documents and gave clear instructions, at the same time assisted other customers just as efficiently and friendly as she did me. It is refreshing to receive this type of service AGAIN! I have gone to several USPS locations in Rockville, Bethesda, Kensington, College Park and now Beltsville. I have to say the service and tone of this Beltsville location is superior than the others. I say it's refreshing because in today's world the type of service we receive is horrible. It's absolutely horrible to call any business for assistance and receive appropriate service. We're lucky to get a person on the phone and one who can actually resolve the issue. Thank You Beltsville USPS!! You're doing something right !!

But what if, instead of those pleas echoing from the vocal chords of an island castaway, they were delivered matter-of-factly from one of the many soon-to-be-satisfied patrons of the U.S. Post Office located at 10901 Rhode Island Ave. in Beltsville, Maryland? First, we would lose all manner of suspense in the lyrics credited to Sting; and, second, the narrator's devastating visual discovery of "a hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore," signifying that he's "not alone in being alone," would never have happened, because the bottle, carefully sent via USPS, would have reached its intended destination within the relayed projected time.
