I was in and out in 3 minutes and for only a couple dollars. The lady at the counter was really nice and made my shipment a breeze. Collected payment and received a shipping label and didn't even tell me for days. The problem was we don't have a computer or printer so I had no way to print the label (we're on iPads here and who really prints things anymore??). So we were going to have to print at the library, which was never open when I was not working. Finally just decided to pay postage again myself because my child was getting heat for not yet sending the package. Went to post office and they had no tape. On my way to the store to get some, drove past the mailbox store and decided to go in. They took my books, provided the priority box, taped it up themselves and printed my label and gave it to the post man while I was waiting. All for the price of the priority postage I already paid. To top it off they were so nice. Please use this business for your shopping needs! You won't regret it with the service they give & you'll be keeping a small business going.

After a minute or less the male employee called me over. He sounded a little annoyed. I explained what I needed done. One envelope and five pages needed to be stamped then put into the other envelope with five more pages and stamped. Apparently he put the wrong kind of stamp on the envelope that had to be put into the other envelop. This seemed to irritate him as he said "you didn't tell me that". I had. In his defense, the other customer at the counter had never stopped talking, in a very loud shrill voice. I manage to drop a paper and slapped it onto the counter when I raised back up. "You need to calm down lady"! I told him I wasn't angry towards him but the other customer (who had gone by this time). This was a partial lie. She had made my ears ring. I thought he had been rude by telling me I hadn't told him what I needed. There was no point in escalating the situation by pointing this out, because he clearly had poor people skills and wanted to get home. We finished the transaction and I left.

In April 2021, an old woman at the window, dressed sloppily, like a hobo (Diane, I think), told me there was no way to get tracking info for a small package that weighed less than 13 ounces without paying for at least USPS 2-day service or parcel post, which costs about $7-8. But because I knew she was either grossly misinformed or maliciously misdirecting me, I took my flat parcel to the USPS in Quinton, just a few miles south. The difference in service there was like night and day. While the former experience was a clown show, the latter went as smooth and beautiful as silk: I went up to the window, the woman smiled at me, asked how she could help me. Then, in response to the exact same question I asked at the Pennsville PO, I received a, "Sure thing! No problem. That'll be $3.78." Then this nice lady, dressed neatly and cleanly (with no rips, holes, food stains), handed me a stamped receipt. On the reverse side was a sticker at the bottom with my tracking information.

I subsequently paid for its renewal, demonstrating my intent to maintain the service, Systemic Failure Begins: Despite my payment, the post office again closed my box and changed the lock. Astonishingly, they continued to place mail into a locked box to which I was denied access. Complete Loss of Mail: For months, each visit to the post office to inquire about my mail was met with the same response from clerks: "We don't know where your mail is." During this time, I complained to the Postmaster for Wilmington, and Postal Service, to no avail, if anything it made the situation worse. Two months ago, (September 2025), I spoke with the new supervisor who acknowledged the problem. He personally delivered a large accumulation of my mail a few days later. This confirmed that my mail was being held within the facility, inaccessible to me. Since that one-time delivery, I have received no mail whatsoever. In fact, 11/19/25, I received a call from Delmarva Power requesting my new address, I told the young lady that that I'm still at the same address. She then explained that the post office sent my mail back and wrote on the envelope, "return to sender, moved wear about unknown ." This is not a case of intermittent service; it is a complete blackout of my postal delivery. On November 17, 2025 I visited the Rodney Square office. The clerk, who was visibly annoyed, again stated she did not know where my mail was and, when I requested to speak with the supervisor, I was told he was not available. The consequences of their shameful failures are not merely inconvenient; they are catastrophic. * Financial Security: My bank sent a new debit card six weeks ago. It has never been delivered, leaving me without secure access to my funds. * Loss of Vital Benefits: Most devastatingly, the Delaware Department of Labor sent time-sensitive correspondence regarding my unemployment claim. Because the post office held this mail for over three months, the deadline to respond expired. As a direct result, my unemployment benefits have been terminated, and I'm now indebted to the state of Delaware for a portion of the payment received.

Complete Lack of Accountability and Oversight This USPS…read morelocation shows a disturbing failure of accountability, transparency, and internal oversight. A letter carrier fraudulently signed for THREE insured packages requiring signature confirmation, then removed those packages from the delivery system and kept them at their private residence for over a month while the recipient was overseas. During this period, USPS treated the packages as lost, forcing the sender, the paying customer, to file insurance claims due to USPS's failure to deliver or account for them. One month later, after claims were filed, the same carrier suddenly delivered the packages. No credible explanation. No documentation. No consequences. USPS Headquarters in Washington, DC is aware. The USPS Postal Inspector is aware. Local management is aware. The paying customer received NOTHING, no explanation, no accountability, no resolution, only the response that "due to privacy, USPS cannot disclose what actions were taken." Let that sink in. How is this acceptable? Forged signatures on insured mail, Packages removed from USPS custody Stored privately for weeks, Financial loss and insurance claims triggered, Zero visible disciplinary action This is not a mistake. This is a systemic breakdown of oversight. The Wilmington USPS facility at 1500 Lancaster Ave urgently requires a full audit of: Signature confirmation procedures Carrier accountability Claims handling Supervisory oversight If this can happen three times to one customer, it can happen to anyone. USPS cannot expect public trust when serious misconduct is quietly swept aside and the only person left in the dark is the customer who paid for the service. Until meaningful accountability exists, this location does not deserve confidence or trust.

The city put up three signs stating NO PARKING AT ANYTIME, painted the curb yellow and also painted the street yellow.. THE USPS carrier parked right up in that spot 1 inch from driveway. I explained to the carrier nobody is allowed to park in that area because it's a hazardous spot to my tenants. The carrier told me SHE IS THE USPS POST OFFICE SHE CAN PARK WHERE EVER SHE WANTS TOO. I explained to her that was not true and it makes it almost impossible to back out without seeing oncoming traffic. This incident took place 1/102023 at 4:15pm on North Union Street the 700 block even side. The USPS carrier was a short haired African American woman. I will also ad that we had 2 open spots on our side and 4 across street at the time I spoke with her. SHE just didn't care.
