They are super nice and friendly here. I'm not sure I'd go back though. My pedicure was okay... just okay I chose white polish for my toes and the color is uneven plus there is a bit of polish on my skin. As for my manicure, the technician was removing stands of the brush or lint that had stuck to my wet nails and when she finished applying the top coat I had to stop her because it looked like crap with bubbles and bumps she didn't care and would have proceeded if I had not asked her to redo all the nails on one hand because of the major imperfections. read more

I was introduced to US Nails from my friend at work. We finally got our nails done last night. My friend raved about the dip nails that she got done. I loved the color that she got on her nails and the look of the dip nails. I have only ever gotten gel nails once and it was a terrible experience so I took her word for the skills of the people at US Nails. I am so happy that I let my friend convince me to get my nails done because I love them. When I first got to US Nails I didn't know what to expect. The inside is very clean and calming. I loved the sound of the water running on the fountain. The inside is small, they could probably work on 7 clients max at one time. It's a cute place that I could see myself go with a group of friends. The nail techs were very welcoming and kept the conversation going. They didn't seem bothered when my friend got really into the court TV show that was on the TV. They seem like a mom and pop style nail salon. At the end of the night the main nail tech family came to help close out the salon. I had never gotten dip nails so I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. It was nothing like gel nails. It has a similar look but you don't have to go through the UV rays to dry your nails. We only had to dry our nails with a small fan for a short period of time. When the nail tech took off my friends old polish her nails were long and strong. I actually felt them and were completely in awe. Normally when I got my nails done in the past my nails were soft and weak. My nails turned out beautiful! I am normally someone that does not like getting my nails done but I can see myself getting gel nails here and there. I love the way they turned out. I would strongly recommend checking out the salon and trying out dip nails if you are looking to try something new. read more

One meh, two ick!! first time I came and was totally transactional- "ok" mani/pedi conversation was all earbuds with personal calls. Rude but thought worth second chance. Second time- worse and just gross! Staff so rude while regulars welcomed so warmly. I was told move quickly through with others coming, walked through nail clippings on floor from clients next to me, ended literally wedged into dryer. I live in NYC but was visiting home for Thanksgiving. I came here because I've been using SNS powder in NYC and this was one of the only places in metro Detroit that does dipping powder. I also decided to treat my mom to a pedicure. I called the evening before and was able to make an appointment for the next morning at 10am easily. First of all, the place is SO clean. It was spotless and everything was sanitized. Once we got seated, they offered us both water, coffee, or tea. They were very nice and professional. Made friendly conversation without forcing it. Now for the dip manicure. I got pointed tips added, and it was $45 (good price for dip +tips)! This was the most attentive and smooth nail experience I've ever had. She paid very close attention not only to how my nail looked but it's health. They had a great selection of colors and she made sure I was happy with the look throughout the process. My mom's pedicure came out to $29. My mother said it was the pedicure she's ever gotten! They were extremely attentive, and massaged her foot 4 different times throughout the pedicure. She had been walking with a limp for a week due to foot pain, and I kid you not she said her feet "felt like pillows" afterward. I will 100% return here every time I'm visiting. I'm honestly jealous there's few places in NYC that are this clean and attentive for the same price. Also just a heads up, you can't tip using card so be sure to bring a little cash for the tip. read more

I got a pedicure and dip powder manicure for prom here, they turned out absolutely perfect and beautiful! The workers were very sweet and listened carefully to what I wanted. Would definitely come back to get my nails done again. I'm really bummed about posting a negative update. I'm a little delayed as I've never posted a review this negative. Late in the summer, I had a pedicure by one of the new employees. She was attempting to clip my cuticle on the side of my toenail. It was a bit painful, but I didnt think much of it. It continued to be sore and swollen. I realized that I had an ingrown toenail. I made an appointment with a Podiatrist. I stopped into US Nails to let them know what happened. The conversation was a little frustrating. I was told that they don't trim ingrown toenails without permission. I tried to explain that I did not have one when I came in and certainly wasn't asked anything. My ingrown toenail was a result of the pedicurist. I haven't dealt wth this before, so I had no idea what I was about to experience. The Podiatrist had to cut a big sliver of my nail off. The pedicurist had clipped the side of my toenail with the cuticle, causing what looked like a hook. It was awful. My toenail is pretty ugly now. I have no idea if it'll ever look normal, let alone be able to put polish on it. I'm currently dealing with growth issues and not feeling confident about how it'll look in the summer. I also received $189 bill from the Podiatrist. Needless to say, I'll never be back and do not recommend! read more

Place is tiny, and a bit cramped, but the service was top notch. My gel manicure has lasted 3+ weeks now, with beautiful shine. They are following Covid precautions. hopefully this will be my new go-to nail shop. i made an appointment here to get dip powder with fake nail tips, because i had never tried the dip powder method before. after experiencing problems with shellac mani's (getting them too often and ruining my cuticles) i was extremely weary of trying this new method. however, it is chemical free and makes your natural nails stronger, so it is better for your nails overall. sally and lena are extremely sweet, and they take their time with their work. sally noticed one of my nails were slightly lumpy (i couldn't even tell myself until she told me), and she made sure to redo it before sending me off. the dip powder method will cost you $40 over your natural nails, and an extra $5 for fake tips. this method should last about 2-3 weeks, so it is definitely worth it. i deducted a star because my appointment time got changed twice because they were running behind. they only have about 3 chairs for mani's, and only two nail techs (on the day i was there) so they get booked extremely fast and can hardly take walk ins. make sure you make an appointment, and don't be surprised if they have to push it back within a 30 minute window. read more

One of the only nail salons in Metro Detroit to utilize this natural dipping powder that rivals shellac, gel, and the very outdated and harsh acrylic techniques. I have been going to US Nails for 13 years, since it first opened and I have never once been disappointed in the quality of service. It's owned by a husband and wife and many of the people who work there are family. They have a large selection of polishes to choose from OPI to Essie. They're fairly flexible with appointment times if you call ahead. I wouldn't recommend walking in -- because of their location, they are usually either really busy or moderate, but never empty. Another nice thing about the small setting is that they remember you and what you like. It won't break the bank either -- to pamper yourself with a manicure only costs $12 (tips are not accepted on credit card so make sure you have cash -- usually tip between 2-3 for a manicure, more if you get a French). Great customer service on the phone was a good start. When I went it, they were prompt with my appointment time, the woman took her time with my gel manicure (last time I went somewhere else they had me in and out in 20 minutes without much nail care), but here she took such good care of my nails. I asked at all she then said I could come back in 4 hours. There was only 2 other clients in there and when she went to put my name on the calendar they were wide open so I said no thank you.
