They are personable, knowledgeable and work hard to try and find you the style of glasses you need. My optician, Dr. Barber, is wonderful! I couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable doctor. Furthermore, the prices are on point, nothing is to expensive, and yes, they send there glasses to a lab. They do this for quality purposes, they let me know this up front, it took about a week to get my new glasses back. I absolutely recommend University Opticians.

My lenses started to deteriorate almost immediately after walking out of their shop. A few months later, after they had gotten to a point were they were just getting unusable, I came back to UO to see what could be done about this. I was basically told there was nothing they could do and, ha ha, if I actually HAD gotten the anti-glare coating, they would have been covered by a warrantee. So there was no "warrantee" for the lenses in general?!! I guess that's tough luck for me. Awesome... This place sucks.

They have a pano cam to get photos which visualize the retina so a dilated eye exam wasn't needed! Eric at the front also helped me with frames, as did the 2 super techs in the back who did my pre-screen vision exams and helped me with getting the contact lenses in successfully. I absolutely recommend them! Also I had Cigna and even though it wasn't listed as in-network, they took my plan which was great cost wise!

He explained how my eyes work, why I might be having the issues I'm having, gave me solid suggestions to help my issues, and gave me an excellent prescription. Where other doctors have recently told me I'd want Progressive lenses, Dr. Johnson explained why I didn't need them YET, and benchmarks of when I would need them (including vision tests for myself and career changes). He encouraged me to get bifocals if I felt I needed them, but also explained where I'd see better with staying in single lenses.
