I have been going back and forth with this company about a particular cat for over a week now. And now all of a sudden the cat got behavior issues that were never mentioned before nor listed on there website. The representative, Ainat is not approving my application for me to adopt the cat because l have a 7 year old in my home. I'm more than equipped to deal with challenging behaviors with humans and animals alike. I taught early education for 10 years so I'm pretty sure my children and l can handle a cat. Farther-more, they ask for references. This is a cat, not a child! They had the nerve to ask one of my references,"Does she really own the building she stays in?!?!?!"Thats extremely unprofessional and none of your damn business. So black people don't own property or run businesses. I contribute to all affairs that pertain to my building. The building I live in is family owned so whenever my parents leave this earth; who in the hell you think the building is going to????? Hyde Park is racist as hell and out here giving half-ass information on their animals. If the cat is that much of a problem why even post pictures of it.

They're doing their best for the animals, and I hope sharing my experience helps anyone considering adopting. We ended up with the sweetest little cat that we absolutely love! We first visited on a Thursday around 4 pm. After waiting about 10 minutes, we filled out a form about what kind of pet we were looking for. About 25 minutes later, a volunteer walked us through the facility. It's clear they're over capacity, there were animals even in the hallways and in the cat rooms the cats are kept in wall cages. You don't get much time to interact, so it's tricky to gauge temperament. We chose a cat we thought seemed sweet. She still needed to be spayed and microchipped, so we couldn't take her home that day. They couldn't give a clear timeline, but by Monday we got the call that her surgery was done. We picked her up Tuesday, which took about an hour of waiting. Adoption fees were completely waived (normally $65, which is already very reasonable), and the cost of her surgery and microchip were covered. Once home, she did come down with a URI, so we had to visit the vet and get her some meds, but she's doing well now. Overall, CACC is a great place to adopt from if you're patient and want to give an animal a second chance. The process isn't super streamlined, but the staff and volunteers clearly care, and you'll be helping an animal in need

While staying with a relative on the south side, my daughter and I encountered a very friendly,…read moreferal cat, who we fed regularly. Whenever we opened the back door to let our dog out, she would run in to the enclosed porch to look for a dark place to chill. We would escort her out and she would always come back. The next week we noticed whenever we let our dog out, she would always run under the house. One morning when my daughter was out back with our dog, she excitedly came back in and said there were 6 kittens under the house. Ahhhhh!!!! We took care of them for a couple of weeks but knew we couldn't keep them. I found a PAWS location but was referred to animal care and control. When I got there, there were a few people in line. A very brusque and unfriendly security guard immediately took my id and handed me a form to fill out. The wait was long and people had questions for the guard who was behind a locked door, but she quickly and rudely blew them off . This made everyone very angry and uncomfortable. I was told it was a "no kill" facility, but once I got inside, I became uncomfortable. Staff was very no-nonsense and there was a dude in a hazmat suit walking around pushing what looked like a laundry cart. What did that mean? I really don't know. They took the cats, gave them a couple of shots and put them in a cardboard box and sent me on my way. I left feeling kind of sad. And when I talked to a friend later, she informed me they were a "high kill" shelter and when I told her one of the staff members said it was "no kill" she laughed at me. I don't know.

I feel that it's unfair to not share my experience with others so they can make their own choices. I had 2 dogs and one was a very selective dog, meaning he didn't get along with all dogs he met. Miranda was referred to us by a friend whose dog had similar issues. When we met Miranda to see her facility, I asked her if she would be cresting the dogs when she left the building. (I asked this for a reason) she told me that if they were not crated at home, she would not crate them and they could just stay in her living space. It turns out that Miranda was crating my dogs together when she left them and that is ultimately what led to my dogs death. My selective dog could not be crated with any other dogs. If he was and anything triggered him, he would redirect onto another dog in his crate, even his brother and they would fight. This happened so Miranda came home and found that my dogs had a fight in their crate. She took the selective dog, Carson out to bathe him and ultimately left him unattended in the sink, tethered to the wall. He then tried to jump out of the sink and you can imagine the rest. We left for the weekend with 2 dogs and came back having only one.

I sent a lengthy email describing my cats and the people at Bow wow meow read it thoroughly I believe because my cat seemed unbothered when he returned home. He smells so good!! This hair cut made us giggle but he was pretty matted and needed the cut ! We love the care he got and everything went smooth. Marcellus is his normal self no nicks on his little chunky body at all and he looks great! Reasonable prices I'd say especially when you know your cat is capable of biting. The wait wasn't long at all we dropped off went to do some errands and when we got a call about two hours later to pick up which was perfect timing. Thank you bow wow meow team our fur baby looks wonderful! Will be going back with our other two cats soon!

Instead, he received a call that a pitbull had broken loose from its kennel and jumped into Marshy's kennel and attacked him. My dog sustained a neck wound and had to be rushed to the emergency veterinarian for treatment. After an emergency vet visit, tears, and a lot of shock, I brought my dog hurt, with a hole in his neck ungroomed. He sat in a kennel for 1 hr and 30 min before being attacked. Now he is recovering, but the hole in his neck keeps breaking open. I should not have to be dealing with this! No pet owner should have to go through this after leaving their dog somewhere they believed was safe. I'm heartbroken, shaken, and honestly very angry! I didn't get a call from the store manager to check on my dog. They didn't give a damn. PetSmart covered the initial vet bill, I have not been given a clear explanation of how this incident occurred. The store manager stated that there were scratches on the divider but could not explain how one dog was able to access another kennel. This raises serious concerns about facility safety and supervision. Don't take your dog to this shit hole or any petsmart for that matter.
