I came in dressed to move, even I thought I looked sketchy lol... I was greeted, accommodated and even guided away from options I thought I needed, he wasn't trying to up sell me, which was appreciated. Mindset: I had retired, sold my home and made a temp move for 30 days, then I was leaving the country. So my brain was puddy... I gave away and then had to move my living room furniture and dining room furniture (I know, I know - give it away and have to move it yourself - lol). I was worried about leaving my car parked so close to the trucks. The owner assured me it would be okay and it was. What really impressed me when I returned the truck it was late and dark, they were closed. The husband and wife aka the dynamic duo came out and helped me bring the truck in after hours (behind the locked gate), and even helped get the moving blankets out the truck, it was cold, very cold and did it all with such a pleasant attitude. Over the years I've moved to several cities and there is something different about the customer service at Uhaul, not that I ever had a bad experience, but now the customer service is memorable and personable. Rented a pickup truck from this location and have used many UHauls in Plano and Frisco (and other cities) over the years. Hands down this was the best experience I'd had renting a truck from Uhaul. Scott (the new owner) was in the restaurant business prior to owning this Uhaul and what ever restaurant he worked/managed, I'm sure it was a well oiled machine. We arrived early at about 6:50am to get our truck. I really didn't know what time it was but one we stood at the door, we saw someone at the desk actually motion to us that he saw us, and he quickly moved to the front door to let us in. When o found out is was then 5 minutes early, I apologized for arriving early and he said it was no big thing as he was there for hours working on cleaning up and taking care of matters. Every aspect of the rental was flawless and the store was spotless During the afternoon, we sensed our day was going slow and called Scott to ask if we could keep the truck a few hours longer. He checked the schedule and since no one had it rented, said they closed at 7 and we could keep it until then if we needed it. Upon our return at 6pm, we were worn out due to a day of lawn work and returned the truck to the gate as requested. James Gay was the person who checked me in and was as friendly and nice as could be. We will do all of our Uhaul needs here from now on, even if we have to go out of our way. You should too! I never thought out of all places U-haul would scam me. I went there at 8 am, asked for a small box truck, and the manager Bobbi Harper said there isn't any available you have to rent the big truck. Then the manager said that it's 54$ with no contract to sign she just gave me the key and that's it. Long story short, I bring it back before noon and only drove it for 13 miles yet they charged me 120$ for no reason at all. Horrible explanation, Bobbi Harper didn't even mention there are free blankets in the car and she even charged us extra for blankets we didn't know already existed. She also didn't even give us the receipts, she charged us an extra 25$ for not folding the blankets of the U-Haul like that's my problem or chores. If you are looking to move make sure Bobbi Harper isn't the one helping you out because you will be scammed. read more

I moved to Texas and put belongings into a U-Haul storage facility until my home purchase was completed. I booked a van for 24 hours to move my belongings into my new home. When I arrived to get the van, the lady at the counter complained for 10 minutes about how hard it was to get keys from a lockbox, then after getting my DL and CC out, she shook her head and told me that this U-Haul doesn't rent to people with out of state drivers licenses. Be warned the office at 3901 N Central Expy Plano, Texas 75023 will NOT allow you to rent if you have an out-of-state DL. told me they had too many problems with people who don't have Texas driver's licenses. Didn't care that I had rented before and had my belongings in a U-Haul storage unit. Insane. read more

I made a reservation 3 weeks ago and now the day of they are telling me they don't have a truck for me. Spoke to a lady over the phone at this Plano location and she was VERY rude. Told me to hurry and give her size of truck and reservation number because she was too busy helping a customer, AS IF I WASN'T ALSO A CUSTOMER. Didn't help me at all and hung up on me. Horrible customer service and I would never recommend them. read more

Bobbi Harper should not be in customer service. The way she how she handles customers is disrespectful. U-Haul Corporate needs to stop her from working on site, even remove her all together. Again. I picked up at truck on Tuesday morning without a reservation and returned it today (Wednesday). On the plus side they had trucks available and the process was relatively trouble free (see below). The truck I was rented was in very poor condition: - stale urine smell - scratched and dented everywhere - transmission kicked like a mule - overdrive didn't work - engine made a lot of clattering noises - road noise was unreal - got a false alarm about releasing the parking brake when the parking brake wasn't even set On the plus side it didn't break down and the AC was cold. Another problem was the fuel gauge didn't work. I followed the estimate on the sheet to refill the truck (it was only 1/4 full when I rented it) and after refueling to that level the needle barely moved. I constantly checked the needle and finally got back to the 1/4 mark about $60 in. By the time I returned the truck the needle read over 1/2 a tank! The U-Haul person refused to credit me for the extra fuel. The fuel alone was almost as much as the rental for 2-days! read more

Horrible experience renting a uhaul truck literally returned 1 hour after close and was charged for basically a full day extra when I wasn't even told how to return the truck was just given keys and told you try and have it back before 5 and the truck was returned at 6:02! read more

I should have known better after having to use the Online tool to order the hitch. The front desk did not appear to know what a hitch or a Nissan Pathfinder was. BUT they were the only ones that had the time to install the hitch the next day (now we know why). Took a newly purchased 2016 Nissan Pathfinder to them to install a standard hitch package. Took it off the lot that morning after the dealer did a final walk through. I have photos of the car when we took it off the lot, no damage to the rear quarter panel. My wife walked the tech around the car showing him there was no damage and expected it to come back the same way. Long story short, the car was returned with a damaged quarter panel. Go somewhere else. read more

Just a word of warning, don't accept a truck unless the gas tank is full. They'll hit you with major fees if they think you've returned the truck with even slightly less fuel than it started with, and you'll have to go through major hassles to argue your case. read more

We called in advance and asked how much it would be and asked all details. We made the reservation and all was set. We showed up with cash and they needed an extra $100 deposit. Poor customer service! read more

Manager is just rude, has no respect for anyone. Nor will he try to compromise with you. He yelled at an old woman who was just trying to get her daughters things out of holding but he wouldn't let her. The other workers just stood there and the other white guy yelled at her too. Like stated has no respect for his elders or anyone got that matter. read more

I've rented a Unit here for over 6 years. The management has always been helpful and accommodating. Ron and Joseph are the best!

Uhaul has always been great-now, NOT THIS ONE!!! After 3 years of faithful service they failed to post my payment to my accu. I called at 8:15 the next morning to tell them that the money was still in my account and they want to charge me $65 in late fees for THEIR ERROR! Uhaul is awesome-just not these guys. read more

Just went in to pick up some boxes. The guys working on Saturday were super-helpful, no waiting at all. I am used to spending no less than an hour anytime I have been to a U-Haul location, but that wasn't the case here. We will definitely be back here again when it comes time to actually get a truck and load up! read more
