I reserved a trailer several days in advance for a weekend event and was later contacted and asked to switch pickup locations. The first alternative offered was significantly farther (downtown Power & Light), which I declined. I was then given a closer option. Because of that experience, I proactively booked trailers for two upcoming weekends to avoid any issues--but I've already been contacted again and redirected to a different location (30th & Main). At this point, it feels like reservations are not being honored at the selected pickup location, even when booked in advance. For customers who rely on these rentals for scheduled events or business use, last-minute changes add unnecessary stress and logistical challenges. I understand that inventory can vary, but the pattern of being redirected after booking makes it difficult to plan with confidence. We had a reservation for several weeks for a 26 foot truck. They never notified us and we just happened to check the reservation this morning and the truck is not there. We've talked to a handful of people and no one has a solution, they don't have a back up, and we're sitting here with a team of people to move with no truck. Made an appointment a month ago for a hitch installation for 3pm today. Got a message that I would need to come in at 8am since they do not have anyone to install in the afternoon. Showed up, was told no one was here to install until 11am. Showed back up at 11. Have been waiting 4 hours in the main store area. Like, is this their first installation? So horrible. I ordered a truck in the comfort of my home, four days before I needed it and exactly where I needed it. They sent me a text to confirm my order and an email the next day to confirm that it would be ready. I called 30 minutes before I was supposed to be there and told them I'd be about 20 minutes late. The customer service representative was friendly and said no problem. When I got there, there was only one person at the counter but three people including myself in line - so not 5-stars. They put me in a 16 year old 24' box truck that, if the fuel gauge was really where they said it was when I picked it up, got less than 5 miles to the gallon on average. For the record, it was only 1/3 full at best. I've rented these quicky B2C trucks before and if I remember they get notoriously shitty MPG. I think a more modern truck would have done better but at the very least, MPG should be calculated into the estimated cost when you order it online - the fuel cost is no small factor. read more

The u haul truck rental web site will only let you rent as what's available. Meaning you think you're renting a truck for the whole day and its price quoting and reserving for a partial day that you can't use. Also their concern and customer service attitude sucks. read more

They didn't not have the trailer in stock that I wanted and so I had to settle for a size smaller for the exact same price. When they hooked me up to the trailer, I noticed that one of the rims was rusty and I didn't know if it would survive the 250 mile journey. The trailer was also super old and used the older 4-pin "spade" connector for the lights so I had to purchase (not included with trailer rental) a $15 adapter so my lights would work. I will never use the adapter again because all my other trailers have the seven pin round connector that's standard on most trucks. The trailer was only on the truck for 24 hours and it rusted the ball on my hitch. I rented the trailer to help a friend move and my dad told me to go elsewhere but I didn't because other websites for other companies didn't have any detail about their trailers and I wish I had gone elsewhere. The only thing I liked was the fact that the trailer was tandem axle so the ride was smoother than a single axle trailer. read more
