There is seemingly always a line a Berliner Doner, and that was the case even on a windy and intermittently rainy Sunday evening when there were seemingly no other people in the entire city of Vienna. Fortunately, the line at Berliner moves real quick, and even ten deep you'll have your food within twenty minutes tops. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? I genuinely cannot get over the price points at Berliner. My standard chicken doner sandwich was, wait for it, €3,50. That's it. That's all. That's the tweet. I obviously should have gone double meat for one euro more, but in summary is the best deal in town full stop. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? And just like that it all came together. One of the guys told me that it's because in case I didn't like it I wouldn't have to pay. I'm not really sure if he meant it but they really do care whether you like their food. It must have been the quinoa. My husband ordered the Falafel Burger which tasted like a Turkish falafel only less oily. Also, for less than 2 euros (around 1.90) we had refillable drinks. They had three different fresh juices and we were able to try all, but my favorite was the Strawberry, Apricot and Agave Juice. But thankfully their vegan nuggets are gluten-free so I got their Nugget Salad (which is their soy protein "chicken" nuggets on a garden salad and a garlic sauce). The nuggets weren't dry at all and had a nice texture. There was a nice creamy sauce on the nuggets, and a different light (balsamic olive oil?) dressing for the salad that was also a great combo. I also got a lemonade for my beverage, but it was a carbonated soda, so not really my kind of thing. I should have gotten something else to drink. Would have been nice to have had at least a couple of other gluten-free options to choose from but the Nugget Salad was satisfying. No wifi unfortunately.
