My experience started with an email. I knew I wanted a Glock so I joined GSSF so I could get the coupon for the Blue Label pricing. Eric was very helpful. After receiving my coupon I headed to the shop. The staff was really nice and gave me some good information. Can't recall his name but the guy with the long hair helped me decide between the Gen 4 or 5 Glock. I kept going back and forth. Just finished a weekend of training for the wear and carry permit. Even though it was a long 2 days, instructor Andy kept us very engaged in the training. Andy was very knowledgeable and very experienced also had lots of good recommendations to offer the class not only on guns and equipment but less lethal ways to protect yourself . There weren't any recent reviews but I decided to stop by the store anyway because of the positive ratings. The shop space is fairly small, so the item you want may not be in stock but they can get it for you. Don't let that scare you away or you might miss out on their top notch customer service. My son and I went in to do some window shopping. We weren't sure what would be a good target rifle that could grow with him as a Christmas present. We had a few ideas but they were just general thoughts. We had a good conversation and were shown a rifle in another caliber to get a feel for what it would be like. I never once felt like they were trying to force anything on us. They listened to what we were saying and used that to form their recommendations. If that wasn't enough, they pointed out features that backed up their recommendations based on what we wanted. That type of customer service at a gun shop in 2018? Amazing. If you are in the Baltimore County area, this is the place to go for all your firearm needs! My first trip to Tyler's was right before my HQL has come in the mail. I was going to check out their selection and compare prices. Upon entering the shop, an hour before closing, I let them know that I was still waiting on my HQL. They kindly informed me that I needed the actual license in hand to do business but proceeded to show me everything that they had. Right from the start, I can see why my wife chose this place after much research to take our handgun class, by offering to postpone if we couldn't make it even though he was open. We learned so much in 4 hours from safety to technique. I will attest that of all guns shops in Maryland, this shop will continue to receive my business because of the great atmosphere, and knowledgeable people. Purchased a used rifle on consignment of questionable quality but its what my son wanted as his first gun. Was reassured that if I had any problems to bring it back for a refund. Well, we had lots of problems. At least 15 fail to feeds/stovepipes out of 70 rds of normal ammo, no problem - some guns are lemons. Took it back explained my problems as directed expecting a refund. I expressed my dissatisfaction, they shot it and also had fail to feeds but not as many as me. I suggested it get cleaned before I take ownership and I would try it again. They said we delivered you a "working" rifle and suggested that ammo is very dirty and fouls receivers. I have 15 firearms and I know how to operate all types. I really don't have words to describe these people but I would suggest you take them off your list of friendly gun shops. I will be filing a BBB claim against them as well. All for $200, smh read more
