Update: 27 July…read more Although I thought my son would be consistently able to attend the swim sessions with the manager of the school on the weekday evenings, it's become apparent that this is not going to happen. I've found it hard to get in touch with the instructors/manager to pay for my sons session and it's too much work to do as a paying customer to feel like you have to chase down someone to get a class scheduled. I'm in a few social media groups for autistic parents and one of them are affiliated in Baltimore. Many of the parents of autistic children shared the same sentiment of the Goldfish Schools that either instructors keep leaving or they cannot find instructors who are qualified with working with children with special needs. Should we all stick with one on one swimming lessons, maybe, but some special needs children learn faster in social settings to mimic their peers and also shouldn't be subjected to isolation to learn a life saving skill. Sadly we will be going to another swim school.

I too feel like it's an inviting supportive atmosphere hence our lengthy run with them, however there are a few aspects that could make it a 5 star experience. 1) Longer Classes or smaller groups per lane. With only 25 minutes of actual instruction (the last 5 is talking about each child's progress) and 4 kids per lane, each child really gets maybe 5 or 6 minutes and that's providing everyone actually gets in the pool on time AND is prepared not still adjusting goggles while everyone else waits etc. 2) Better visibility/monitoring of the changing area by staff. The staff is either all behind the counter or in the pool area so many parents will hold up inside the dressing rooms instead of going in to hear about their swimmers progress leaving the rest of us to stand in line and wait for their child to get out and come "find" the room being reserved for them. Shame on those parents! Having some staff support to alleviate that issue would go a long way!
