My visit to Dave's Hot Chicken across from the Kia dealership was a great experience and honestly…read moremore impressive than I expected. The restaurant itself has a really cool vibe. I liked the new-wave graffiti style throughout the interior--it gives the place a modern, energetic feel that stands out from typical fast-food spots. It was pretty busy when I arrived, so there was a little bit of a wait, but it was completely understandable once I got my food. What really stood out to me was that everything came out hot. That may sound simple, but these days it's actually rare. Whether it's places like Burger King, McDonald's, or even fried chicken spots like Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, food often comes out lukewarm. Fried chicken especially needs to be hot, and Dave's absolutely delivered. My entire meal--from the mozzarella sticks to the fries--was fresh and hot. I ordered the mozzarella sticks with a little kick, and they were fire. You can adjust the spice level, and the seasoning gave them just enough heat without overpowering the flavor. The fries were hot and crispy, and they came with Dave's sauce, which was surprisingly good and paired really well with everything. Another nice surprise was the slice of bread tucked underneath the mozzarella sticks--simple, but it really hit the spot. The service was also excellent, and I want to give a special shout-out to Jo Jo and Isaiah working the front line. These two really held it down. Their energy is exactly what establishments like this need. They were engaging, positive, smiling, attentive, and in my opinion they kick off the entire experience from the moment you walk in. The manager also came over and greeted me, asking if I was being helped. I made sure to tell him that the front-line energy is the business, because when your team sets the tone like that, it makes a big difference in the overall experience. The only thing I wish they had on the menu would be bone-in chicken. Wings or traditional bone-in pieces would be amazing because that's usually my go-to. That said, the food I had was so good that it didn't take away from the overall experience. Overall, I was surprisingly impressed with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. If you're in the White Plains area and want hot, fresh food with real flavor and great service, Dave's Hot Chicken is definitely worth checking out.

A Gluten-Friendly Nugget Haven in Chatham…read more First time at The Nugget Spot - Chatham, and I'm so glad a friend introduced me. I just wish they'd open one closer to Bergen County! As someone with a gluten allergy, I was a little nervous at first, but the grilled nuggets are a total lifesaver, and they even have broccoli as a side. I went with the medium grilled combo and paired it with the Smokin' J's BBQ sauce -- the nuggets were juicy, packed with flavor, and incredibly fresh. The portion was generous enough that I brought home leftovers for later. I also tried their homemade blueberry lemonade, it was refreshing. For anyone who can enjoy gluten, the wings and nuggets looked amazing -- and the sauce options alone could spark a serious debate! Service was quick and friendly. It wasn't crowded when we walked in, but I can definitely picture this spot getting busy during peak hours. The staff was fun to joke with, and the place was clean with plenty of parking. It's a great spot to get tasty food fast. Downsides: limited seating, so not ideal for larger groups wanting to dine in, and no bathroom on-site. Being part of a strip mall, though, you've got other stores nearby if needed. If I lived closer, this would definitely be a staple spot. Highly recommend for anyone looking for flavorful, fast, gluten-friendly nuggets!

But explained the menu completely. I got the Med combo with some nugget spot lemonade. The breaded nuggets got a good crunch to them and plenty neat within. You can taste the good seasoning. The season fries had a snap to the bite. Definitely worth the money as at first look, many might think it is expensive. But when you see the over sized nuggets. They will have you saying. Ok this is worth it. And the taste will confirm the price is avg. My granddaughter I'll bring back to give her seal of approval. She's what I call a nugget connoisseur.
