The interior is sterile, but at the same time a bit messy. It isn't the most welcoming space and could use an upgrade for individuals to dine in. Counter service was friendly and our food arrived decently quick. This spot falls into a similar family as Dave's Hot Chicken, with sandwiches and tenders available in a variety of spice levels. I had the tenders, with BBQ and Mild sauce. They were super yummy and juicy and came with a great dipping sauce. I also appreciated the seasoning on the fries and the pickles served with the tenders. Overall, the food outshown the ambiance of the space. I'd recommend take out if you're in the mood for some yummy chicken in the area.

The strips were crisp, but I wouldn't say they were "crunchy" crispy. The chicken meat was moist and tender, but I did think most of the flavoring came from the comeback sauce and the spice coated on the strip, but nonetheless when eaten all together it was a morish piece of friend chicken. The batter was not too oily either. The fries were battered and very crispy with a soft fluffy interior, and the pickles were acidic and refreshing in between each bite. For the price of $13, it was filling and a good bang for the buck. Not the best fried chicken I've had but very solid. Shout out to the cashier who also recognized my brother after he had just been here a couple weeks prior since he had ordered the exact same thing.

Having heard a lot about it, I was excited to finally get to try it so I made the trek from the cities out to Coon Rapids and ordered a sandwich and fries. You have the option to choose the exact spice level you want ranging from completely mild (no heat) to some super spicy ones. I ended up ordering one of the more middle ones. The staff were super friendly for a fast food chain which I always appreciate and I even saw some employees on their meal breaks enjoying some food from the store which to me is a great sign. The chicken was super juicy and crispy on the outside and the fries were delicious and hot when we got them. Inside, it is like a higher tier fast food ambiance similar to a Chick fil a or Portillo's level of niceness.

I'm honestly extremely disappointed with my experience at Dave's Hot Chicken. I ordered mild…read moresliders because I specifically wanted something that wasn't extremely spicy. Instead, I received the hottest flavor. The worker who handled my order was named Will, and I'm very upset with how my order was handled. I specifically asked for mild sliders, so I expected to receive exactly what I ordered. Instead, I ended up with the hottest flavor, which was way too spicy for me and completely ruined my meal. I understand that mistakes happen, but this was a pretty frustrating mistake. There is a huge difference between mild and the hottest spice level. I ordered mild for a reason, and I wasn't expecting to receive something that was basically the complete opposite of what I asked for. I was really looking forward to my food, but after taking a bite, I immediately knew something was wrong. The chicken was incredibly spicy, and I couldn't enjoy my meal. It was especially frustrating because I had specifically ordered mild. I hope Will and the rest of the staff are more careful with orders in the future. Customers should be able to trust that when they select a certain spice level, they're going to receive that exact level. Overall, this was a really disappointing experience. I paid for mild sliders and got the hottest flavor instead. I left feeling extremely frustrated and upset, and I really hope this doesn't happen to other customers.

The chicken is absolutely amazing and beyond expectations! There seems to be no breading and the chicken skin is very crunchy and delicious (like chincharrones). Service was excellent and timing of cooking was clearly communicated ahead of time. Worth the wait! And by the photos, it clearly is a fun vibe to look at the decorations! Will definitely share with friends and family and return again soon!

This is located in a neighborhood with a small parking lot or free parking in the neighborhood. There is a small patio and a few tables and chairs on the inside. I would plan on taking your food to go. The vibes are classic and there are a bunch of fun pictures from Minnesota history! My boys enjoyed looking at those! The service here was extremely friendly and laid back. Kind of like having family cook your meal! That's a hard vibe to find these days! The food: We got the rib and chicken dinner. The chicken was fried golden(this is pressure cooked in oil) made for a nice flavor. I wouldn't say it knocked my socks off but definitely solid pieces of chicken. I am here to rave about the ribs!! Oh my gosh!!! The bones just fell out! The meat was so tender and the BBQ had the perfect about of sweetness!! I will for sure be back for the ribs!!! The mashed potatoes were ok. Next time I would get the fries. We also had the chicken wings plain. Again, nothing over the top special. Did I mention how good those ribs were!? Haha we ended with some mini donuts which were your standard mini donut but were delicious! This place is definitely worth a try!!
