TX Burger - Burgers Near Me - Crockett, Texas

Best burger joint in town. Good food, reasonable prices, good service. Must try the seasoned fries.

Perfectly toasted bun with crisp edges and soft bite, burger was savory and had crisp edges, and the seasoned fries paired everything perfectly. This tucked away burger joint has been in operation for 50 years, rightfully so. When you enter, you will be greeted by a small, kind staff and a clean restaurant. That was the food, but did I mention that everything was hot and fresh? We ended up traveling over an hour to come back the next day because we couldn't stop thinking about how great the meal was. I ordered a #1 TX Burger and I added American cheese and added regular jalapeños. They asked me if I wanted the jalapeños grilled, but I preferred them regular. The seasoned fries were hot and tasty. I am from Nacogdoches, home of the world renowned Butcher Boy's and NacBurger. This burger topped them all off. Hope you enjoy! read more

Food was great. The facility could be a little cleaner. Staff were very friendly! Would eat here again.

This place is fast and friendly. We always enjoy our food! It's a popular place in Crockett.

wish I could leave no stars. the food is not worth the 30 plus minute wait or the price. cooked to order or not, no excuse. my husband ordered the melt with onion rings. shouldn't a melt have melted cheese on it? poor excuse for onion rings. my bacon burger again the cheese was not melted and the bacon was so hard you could t chew it. as for the seasoned fries.... I cook frozen fries better myself. they should be crispy not flimsy. Whole place needs a good cleaning. floors are horrible and no paper towels or seat covers in the nasty bathroom. my poor husband got food poisoned as well. later that night....wasnt good for him. we will never go back. read more

Serviceable. Standardized. Retail Chain A step above Whataburger. Tasty. It's a simple, Hamburger & Seasoned Fries & malts & Bluebell kinda place. If you are driving through, stop in, as it may be the only option for the road for a time. Upbeat and casual fast food. I will echo other reviews and graciously say, please don't be in a hurry. Wait & visit instead while your order is being prepared and cheerfully brought to your table. Our burgers arrived artfully wrapped, with a toasted & lightly grilled bun and all the trimmings. Seasoned fries were tasty & fresh. The fountain drinks were clean with the right syrup balance. (As a former beverage tester I notice this straight away with appreciation) The Inside interior was a standard burger retail chain booth setup, but delightfully absent were the propaganda upsell posters other establishments display. Instead, beautiful high quality bright fabric flags of Texas and Texas team sports adorned the walls. Neat. Of note, you can brighten your burger with Texas Pete. Or indulge in Spicy Fingers. There is plenty of ketchup on hand to drown your sorrows too. Enjoy your visit. read more

TX Burger - Texas Loyal! - Burgers Near Me - Crockett, Texas

just nowNEW We were going through Crockett, Tx. on the way to San Antonio. After waiting over 30 minutes for our food, my husband's paper thin burger was burnt around the edges but lukewarm and his onion rings were cold. The jalapenos were cut thicker than the burger. My steak sandwich was not steak but some undiscernable mushy substance and served cold. The only thing edible was the french fries. After wasting an hour of travel time and $17, we didn't even have a real meal read more

No, TX Burger isn't a gourmet stop, but they consistently (across multiple locations) deliver a burger superior to the fast food spots (including, dare I say...Whataburger). They always properly grill the bun, the meat tastes fresh...just a good basic burger. I DO think that a place called "TX Burger" shouldn't ask me if I want mustard or mayo on my burger -- this is Texas, after all... :) Didn't hurt that our post-meal "scoop" of ice cream was more like 2 or 3. Great folks working here -- enjoyed the stop, and it hit the spot. read more

We always like stopping at Texas Burger when we are on the road. Yummy burgers made fresh to order with seasoned fries are always crispy and delicious. I got the patty melt, which was made with fresh rye bread, perfectly crisped on the outside. The cheese and tender ground beef were melty and gooey on the inside. Yum! Of the chicken tenders and steak fingers, we thought the chicken fingers had better flavor, and would definitely get them again. We appreciate that if you don't want seasoned fries you can substitute tater tots :) 4 yummy crunchy stars read more

This wasn't even sort of good. Memorial Day weekend and we stopped here at 5:30, dinner time for most people. We should have known not to eat here since we were two of 5 people in the building (other than employees). The burger was a single with cheese, overcooked to the point of dry and the bun was full of grease (not to mention squashed flat as if someone set a dictionary on it). Not all Patty Melts are alike. This one came with a cheddar cheese slice that seemed like an afterthought since it was not melted at all. The fries were hours old and the only redeeming quality would have been the Blue Bell Icecream shake, but it was more like chocolate milk. More milk than ice cream. Do yourself a favor and go to the Jack in the Box or Wait for the McDonalds to open read more

The good: very good burger, meat was well seasoned and cooked just right. Fries were well seasoned as well. We were six on our party and the food came out fast and the order was all right. The not-so-good: not enough fries, very few come in the basket with the meal. Iced tea was not good, Need to switch brands. The place in general was not as clean as it should have been. read more

Pure nostalgia is what TX Burger gives me when I make my way to Crockett every few years. This place serves a no-frills burger that is just solid and affordable when we need to grab a quick bite before heading back on the road. The fries are one of my favorites and it's one of the few places where you can get steak fingers w/ country gravy. PLUS you can get Blue Bell ice cream by the scoop! Perfect ending to this meal. I will always love this place. read more

Well. I must start by saying that I am a Whataburger devotee, and I dig the heck out of a big, juicy, gourmet-ish burger as well. Goodness, I had no idea that the two could meet in the form of a Texas Burger!!! Holy cow, these are amazingly delicious! We discovered them on a looooooong roadtrip to east Texas last spring, and now we seek them out at every opportunity. Thank you TX Burger for satisfying us weary travelers! Keep up the great work!!! read more

Great made-to-order burgers. 1/3rd pound "Nolan Ryan Natural Beef" burgers served on a nicely grilled bun. Ample lettuce, onions and tomatoes with a dab of mustard. The sweet potato French fries are killer too. The service can be a bit slow for a fast food joint, but unlike those national chains that claim they don't make your burger until you order it...well Texas Burger means it! read more

1st time here, and the burgers were pretty good. Two burger baskets for $18 is just crazy, especially because this place claims to be fast food. Also, I was highly pissed upon receiving my basket just to see the piss poor excuse of a helping of fries. Undercooked at that. It's like they have a fry JEW in the back making sure only a dozen fries go into each basket. Over all, I would get another burger from this joint, but a la carte. Don't waste your money on their shitty spuds. read more

TX Burger - #1 w/cheese - Burgers Near Me - Crockett, Texas

I would have added a photo to this review but we ate the food so fast, there was no time. I am from Austin. Of course we have lots of burger joints, but they do not compare to TX burger. The burgers are juicy and full of flavor. The buns are soft and sweet. The toppings are seasoned well. The French fries are he perfect texture and the best fries I have ever had. It's hard to get the burger perfect and also the fries so I was very impressed with this place... but wait ... there's more. The shakes made with real icecream. They don't taste like powder mix or leave you wondering what they are made of. You also can't really think about anything while drinking them other than the creamy goodness pairing ever so nicely with your salty burger. The price is well worth it. It is basically dine-in only restaurant type of food but WITH A DRIVE THROUGH YES!! You read that right. A drive through. I am in love. read more

Absolutely the best drive through burger you can get! Always hot and fresh along with the fries. Just wish they had more location!

The food was good. It's a small burger place with fresh good quality beef. It's also a chain. It is small & all booths so if you are more than 4 you will have to sit apart. The beef was good. The buns were average. The tea was fresh brewed. I'm not sure but the fries & sweet potato fries seems to be frozen. They were average at best, maybe even cooked & being held under a warmer? If all you serve us burgers & fries, I would prefer fresh fries. Get the burgers!... skip the fries read more

Great food, people are friendly, steak fries are so good and the order is usually right, but today's order left me super confused. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger with everything on it and after about halfway though, I'm thinking this must be a small patty since I still haven't hit the burger yet... So I tore the thing apart and realized, there was no burger at all. My son fortunately doesn't eat the patty from his burger so I just used his, but it was very strange to receive a burger with no burger! Quite a surprise. read more

This place has the best fast-food burger and sweet potato fries I have ever had in my entire life! The service is always very good, and the restaurant is kept fairly clean. I love the immediate flavor explosion in your mouth when you bite into a burger from TX Burger. My only complaint is that the service is soooooo slowwwww. I understand the burgers and fries taste better because they are fresher, but waiting for 30 min for a burger and fries can sometimes really get on my nerves. I recommend calling in your order at least 15 min before you arrive, so you are not waiting for ages. Also, do not forget to try the steak fries because they are amazing! read more

Not a fan, tried this place twice once for standard cheese burger, second for patty melt. Meat is very dry. Go to Whataburger for a juicy burger. read more

It's a good burger, I've definitely had better. I gave them 4 stars because of the staff and how clean the place was. And the beef tasted fresh. I'll find other locations and try those as well! read more

First time to eat at TX Burger. WOW! Burger was great and the employees were very nice and keeping the place clean and picked up. I like thin patties and the 1/4 pound patty was just right!!! Will definitely be stopping a lot more on our way to Central Texas. Thank you for the great experience! read more

Great burgers and fries, and they use real beef! I also love that they still have blue bell ice cream, you can buy by the scoop, or get a delicious shake! read more

Very nice employees. Good onion rings. Really have only had a positive experience at this establishment.

This is the second time in a row I went to the drive through and waited 20 minutes for 1 burger. I asked for a burger with no tomato, pickles or onions, a large fry and drink. I got a burger with tomato, extra pickles and onion. The fries weren't large. At least my Dr Pepper was good. Won't be coming back, good food, ignorant and rude staff. read more

The food here is okay - not great. The service was extremely slow. Although the young lady working the register was friendly, there was no sense of urgency from any of the staff. The burgers were overcooked for my liking but they did have an ample amount of toppings. read more

The burgers are good but if you want mayonaise on your burger you are out of luck. They ask you if you want mayo or mustatd and if you ask for "mayo" you will not get mayo but instead get miracle whip salad dressing. Also, there needs to be napkin dispensers on the tables or somewjere that you can get napkins yoirself. read more

Good burger but not great. The burger was tasty and prepared just the way I ordered it, always a plus. A negative though was that the patty itself was a little bland, but added with everything else still enjoyable. Crockett isn't a big town so this next part didn't surprise me. Service was a little slow, they only had one cook and one counter girl. But given the fact that I had just driven for three hours and still had another three hours to go in front of me, I welcomed the break and the chance to rest. I wasn't all that impressed but will give them another try the next time I'm going through that part of the state. read more

Visiting my grandparents and this was a great find. Burger was great and they have multiple options for sides. And you can beat Blue Bell!

Fell in love with 1st bite!!! Highly recommend this place. Top 5 burgers ive had. That says alot cuz i eat tons of burger from all over.

We were passing through town. I was in the mood for a burger and we came here instead of the typical whataburger. I had the bacon cheese burger and my mom had the chicken wrap they had as a special for today. Was good. Will stop again next time I pass through town. read more

TX Burger - Burgers Near Me - Crockett, Texas

We eat at the TX Burgers in Madisonville, Centerville and Buffalo in addition to this location in Crockett. The Crockett restaurant is our favorite by far. In fact, we plan our trips from our home in Huntsville, where we no longer have a TX Burger, so that we can stop and eat in Crockett. The service is quick. The food is consistently great. The staff is friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy working together. We always get Gardenburgers and hope that TX Burger stays with the current recipe. They experimented with an alternative several years back and we were ever so glad when they went back. Please don't change again. read more

Worst service ever! Took 35 min just to get a cheeseburger and fries. And there's only 1 car in parking lot.

Three stars my ass!...this place is great great great burger love it ! Git you some of this!!

The moron at the counter was on a power trip and told me that the $20 bill I tendered to pay for my order couldn't be accepted because it appeared to be counterfeit. He was very proud of himself playing Sherlock Holmes and told me that several fake 20s had been passed lately. Said he couldn't see the watermark which was clearly visible. The bill was perfectly good. It contained all the the indicia of a legally printed note and it was obvious to anyone with a brain. I won't eat at this place again as I don't support businesses that employ total idiots. read more
