This tucked away burger joint has been in operation for 50 years, rightfully so. When you enter, you will be greeted by a small, kind staff and a clean restaurant. That was the food, but did I mention that everything was hot and fresh? We ended up traveling over an hour to come back the next day because we couldn't stop thinking about how great the meal was. I ordered a #1 TX Burger and I added American cheese and added regular jalapeños. They asked me if I wanted the jalapeños grilled, but I preferred them regular. The seasoned fries were hot and tasty. wish I could leave no stars. the food is not worth the 30 plus minute wait or the price. cooked to order or not, no excuse. my husband ordered the melt with onion rings. shouldn't a melt have melted cheese on it? poor excuse for onion rings. my bacon burger again the cheese was not melted and the bacon was so hard you could t chew it. as for the seasoned fries.... I cook frozen fries better myself. they should be crispy not flimsy. No, TX Burger isn't a gourmet stop, but they consistently (across multiple locations) deliver a burger superior to the fast food spots (including, dare I say...Whataburger). They always properly grill the bun, the meat tastes fresh...just a good basic burger. I DO think that a place called "TX Burger" shouldn't ask me if I want mustard or mayo on my burger -- this is Texas, after all... :) Didn't hurt that our post-meal "scoop" of ice cream was more like 2 or 3. We always like stopping at Texas Burger when we are on the road. Yummy burgers made fresh to order with seasoned fries are always crispy and delicious. I got the patty melt, which was made with fresh rye bread, perfectly crisped on the outside. The cheese and tender ground beef were melty and gooey on the inside. Yum! Of the chicken tenders and steak fingers, we thought the chicken fingers had better flavor, and would definitely get them again. This wasn't even sort of good. Memorial Day weekend and we stopped here at 5:30, dinner time for most people. We should have known not to eat here since we were two of 5 people in the building (other than employees). The burger was a single with cheese, overcooked to the point of dry and the bun was full of grease (not to mention squashed flat as if someone set a dictionary on it). Not all Patty Melts are alike. This one came with a cheddar cheese slice that seemed like an afterthought since it was not melted at all. Pure nostalgia is what TX Burger gives me when I make my way to Crockett every few years. This place serves a no-frills burger that is just solid and affordable when we need to grab a quick bite before heading back on the road. The fries are one of my favorites and it's one of the few places where you can get steak fingers w/ country gravy. PLUS you can get Blue Bell ice cream by the scoop! Perfect ending to this meal. Well. I must start by saying that I am a Whataburger devotee, and I dig the heck out of a big, juicy, gourmet-ish burger as well. Goodness, I had no idea that the two could meet in the form of a Texas Burger!!! Holy cow, these are amazingly delicious! Also, I was highly pissed upon receiving my basket just to see the piss poor excuse of a helping of fries. Undercooked at that. The burgers are juicy and full of flavor. The buns are soft and sweet. The toppings are seasoned well. The French fries are he perfect texture and the best fries I have ever had. It's hard to get the burger perfect and also the fries so I was very impressed with this place... but wait ... there's more. The shakes made with real icecream. They don't taste like powder mix or leave you wondering what they are made of. You also can't really think about anything while drinking them other than the creamy goodness pairing ever so nicely with your salty burger. The price is well worth it. The food was good. It's a small burger place with fresh good quality beef. It's also a chain. It is small & all booths so if you are more than 4 you will have to sit apart. The beef was good. This place has the best fast-food burger and sweet potato fries I have ever had in my entire life! The service is always very good, and the restaurant is kept fairly clean. I love the immediate flavor explosion in your mouth when you bite into a burger from TX Burger. My only complaint is that the service is soooooo slowwwww. I understand the burgers and fries taste better because they are fresher, but waiting for 30 min for a burger and fries can sometimes really get on my nerves. The burgers are good but if you want mayonaise on your burger you are out of luck. They ask you if you want mayo or mustatd and if you ask for "mayo" you will not get mayo but instead get miracle whip salad dressing. A negative though was that the patty itself was a little bland, but added with everything else still enjoyable. Crockett isn't a big town so this next part didn't surprise me. Service was a little slow, they only had one cook and one counter girl. But given the fact that I had just driven for three hours and still had another three hours to go in front of me, I welcomed the break and the chance to rest. We eat at the TX Burgers in Madisonville, Centerville and Buffalo in addition to this location in Crockett. The Crockett restaurant is our favorite by far. In fact, we plan our trips from our home in Huntsville, where we no longer have a TX Burger, so that we can stop and eat in Crockett. The service is quick. The food is consistently great. The staff is friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy working together. We always get Gardenburgers and hope that TX Burger stays with the current recipe. They experimented with an alternative several years back and we were ever so glad when they went back. Please don't change again. read more

Worst service ever! Took 35 min just to get a cheeseburger and fries. And there's only 1 car in parking lot.

The moron at the counter was on a power trip and told me that the $20 bill I tendered to pay for my order couldn't be accepted because it appeared to be counterfeit. He was very proud of himself playing Sherlock Holmes and told me that several fake 20s had been passed lately. Said he couldn't see the watermark which was clearly visible. The bill was perfectly good. It contained all the the indicia of a legally printed note and it was obvious to anyone with a brain. I won't eat at this place again as I don't support businesses that employ total idiots. read more
