I should have wrote a review long ago about how awesome she is, but better late than never. Rachael Morgan is the most talented colorist I have ever been to. I have been to so many people who cannot do blonde highlights/color even half as well as she can. I either ended up with candy cane hair that looked like chunky stripes or yellow/brassy highlights that looked terrible. If anyone ever needs an expert colorist. She is your girl. The best part? She is honest. If you have super dark brown or black hair. You cannot get your hair this color. If you try to get it this color your hair will be damaged/breaking and still won't be this color. It's just not possible. She won't sell you something that A: isn't possible for your hair type or B: won't be what you asked for it to look like. If she says she can do it, she can! She won't take your money and shrug when it doesn't look how you wanted it to look. She says, yeah so that won't work on your hair type because of this or that but we can do this and this and that will work and look good. She will say things like, my advice would be this or that to go with your complexion etc. She is a miracle worker. I live in northern Virginia and I drive 2 hours every 6-8 weeks to get my hair done. She is that good! In conclusion, if you are looking for a kind, honest and most importantly expert professional hair stylist/colorist, she is ABSOLUTELY the one you should go to. She is professional and doesn't get offended if you don't want to talk. I have been to many stylists who wouldn't stop talking about themselves the whole appointment. If walk-ins are no longer an option, then the website needs to be updated immediately to reflect that. Don't advertise something you're not actually offering. A true walk-in means accommodating customers between appointments or during gaps--not turning people away at the door. This wasn't just frustrating--it was a complete waste of time and money, especially with the cost of gas. Do better with your communication and set accurate expectations for your customers.

I decided on a whim to get my hair colored, thankfully melissa allowed me to come in same day. I…read moresent her pictures of what i wanted and told her that my hair was thick+long. I was going to go from natural hair color (brown) to Denim (Washed out blue, ombre). I was told it would be half their normal price since i was a new customer, so it ended up being just over 100$ (normally over 200$) She initially stated it would take 2 hours, which ended up being 4, which i understand. The process was well and good, it was my first time having my hair colored so i do not have much to go on for experience. We got finished, it was not anything like i had asked for, but i am flexible and i still liked the final result even it wasnt anywhere near what i had asked for. Melissa informed me that i needed to wait 2 days before washing and to be sure to use color-safe shampoo and conditioner. I ended up waiting almost 3 days, but this point my blue hair had turned more aqua. I washed it as instructed, and now my hair is a very ugly swamp-green, and is patchy in areas where the hair wasnt bleached at all. The hair line is pure bright vivid blue where the bleach got the most action. I contacted the owner and stated my concern, to which i was told it would cost 225$ to fix correctly, or she could just add more blue for 70$ (which would not fix the issue) I contacted now 4 other salons around the area and was told that the process that was done was no where near what should have happened, and that something that drastically bad in color would have been free for them to fix. I voiced my final concern with the owner to see if she would be willing to fix the issue, to which she promptly told me that i had 'agreed' to color at the end of the 4 hours with her. Even though less than 72 hours later the color completely turned to a nasty green. Needless to say i am very irate, and will be taking all my future business elsewhere, and informing friends to stay clear.
